This change reduces o/tiny/examples/life from 44kb to 24kb in size since
it avoids linking mmap() when unnecessary. This is important, to helping
cosmo not completely lose touch with its roots.
At least in neovim, `│vi:` is not recognized as a modeline because it
has no preceding whitespace. After fixing this, opening a file yields
an error because `net` is not an option. (`noet`, however, is.)
