e73e8266ec media: adv748x: afe: Select input port when initializing AFE
[ Upstream commit 23ddb85daf ]

When moving the input selection to adv748x_reset() it was missed that
during probe the device is reset _before_ the initialization and parsing
of DT by the AFE subdevice. This can lead to the wrong input port (in

Fix this by restoring the call to adv748x_afe_s_input() in the AFE

d3d14cdf1c media: v4l2-dv-timings.c: fix too strict blanking sanity checks
commit 5eef214177 upstream.

Sanity checks were added to verify the v4l2_bt_timings blanking fields
in order to avoid integer overflows when userspace passes weird values.

But that assumed that userspace would correctly fill in the front porch,
backporch and sync values, but sometimes all you know is the total
blanking, which is then assigned to just one of these fields.

And that can fail with these checks.

So instead set a maximum for the total horizontal and vertical
blanking and check that each field remains below that.

That is still sufficient to avoid integer overflows, but it also
allows for more flexibility in how userspace fills in these fields.

0e3f94b260 v4l2: don't fall back to follow_pfn() if pin_user_pages_fast() fails
commit 6647e76ab6 upstream.

The V4L2_MEMORY_USERPTR interface is long deprecated and shouldn't be
used (and is discouraged for any modern v4l drivers). And Seth Jenkins
points out that the fallback to VM_PFNMAP/VM_IO is fundamentally racy
and dangerous.

Note that it's not even a case that should trigger, since any normal
user pointer logic ends up just using the pin_user_pages_fast() call
that does the proper page reference counting. That's not the problem
case, only if you try to use special device mappings do you have any
issues.

Normally I'd just remove this during the merge window, but since Seth
pointed out the problem cases, we really want to know as soon as
possible if there are actually any users of this odd special case of a
legacy interface. Neither Hans nor Mauro seem to think that such
mis-uses of the old legacy interface should exist. As Mauro says:

 "See, V4L2 has actually 4 streaming APIs:
        - Kernel-allocated mmap (usually referred simply as just mmap);
        - USERPTR mmap;
        - read();
        - dmabuf;

  The USERPTR is one of the oldest way to use it, coming from V4L
  version 1 times, and by far the least used one"

And Hans chimed in on the USERPTR interface:

 "To be honest, I wouldn't mind if it goes away completely, but that's a
  bit of a pipe dream right now"

but while removing this legacy interface entirely may be a pipe dream we
can at least try to remove the unlikely (and actively broken) case of
using special device mappings for USERPTR accesses.

This replaces it with a WARN_ONCE() that we can remove once we've
hopefully confirmed that no actual users exist.

NOTE! Longer term, this means that a 'struct frame_vector' only ever
contains proper page pointers, and all the games we have with converting
them to pages can go away (grep for 'frame_vector_to_pages()' and the
uses of 'vec->is_pfns'). But this is just the first step, to verify
that this code really is all dead, and do so as quickly as possible.

ac9a8caf6f media: rkisp1: Use correct macro for gradient registers

The rkisp1_lsc_config() function incorrectly uses the

it with the correct macro, and rename it from
RKISP1_CIF_ISP_LSC_GRAD_SIZE() to RKISP1_CIF_ISP_LSC_SECT_GRAD() as the
corresponding registers store the gradients for each sector, not a size.
This doesn't cause any functional change as the two macros are defined
identically (the size and gradient registers store fields in the same
number of bits at the same positions).

HFI_VERSION_1XX uses HFI_BUFFER_OUTPUT not HFI_BUFFER_OUTPUT2 for decoder

of type HFI_BUFFER_OUTPUT2. HFI_1XX uses HFI_BUFFER_OUTPUT though.

Switching to the logic used in venus_helper_get_out_fmts() first checking
for HFI_BUFFER_OUTPUT and then HFI_BUFFER_OUTPUT2 resolves on HFI_1XX.

driver will enable the vpu core when request the first instance
on the core.
one vpu core can only support 8 streaming instances in the same
time, the instance won't be added to core's list before streamon.

so the actual instance count may be greater then the number in
the core's list.

in pm resume callback, driver will resume the core immediately if
core's list is not empty.
but this check is not accurate,
if suspend during one instance is requested, but not streamon,
then after suspend, the core won't be resume, and led to instance failure.

use the request_count instead of the core's list to check
whether is the core needed to resume immediately after suspend.

a2d2e593d3 media: mediatek: vcodec: Drop platform_get_resource(IORESOURCE_IRQ)
Commit a1a2b7125e ("of/platform: Drop static setup of IRQ resource
from DT core") removed support for calling platform_get_resource(...,
IORESOURCE_IRQ, ...) on DT-based drivers, but the probe() function of
mtk-vcodec's encoder was still making use of it. This caused the encoder
driver to fail probe.

Since the platform_get_resource() call was only being used to check for
the presence of the interrupt (its returned resource wasn't even used)
and platform_get_irq() was already being used to get the IRQ, simply
drop the use of platform_get_resource(IORESOURCE_IRQ) and handle the
failure of platform_get_irq(), to get the driver probing again.

3723869907 media: dvb_vb2: fix possible out of bound access
vb2_core_qbuf and vb2_core_querybuf don't check the range of b->index

Fix this by adding range checking code before using them.

f0da34f329 media: v4l2-ioctl.c: fix incorrect error path
If allocating array_buf fails, or copying data from userspace into that
buffer fails, then just free memory and return the error. Don't attempt
to call video_put_user() since there is no point, and it would copy back
data on error even if INFO_FL_ALWAYS_COPY wasn't set.

So if writing the array back to userspace fails, then don't go to
out_array_args, instead just continue with the regular code that just
returns the error unless 'always_copy' is set.

Update the VIDIOC_G/S/TRY_EXT_CTRLS ioctls to set the ALWAYS_COPY flag
since they now need it. Before this worked due to this buggy code, but
now that that is fixed these ioctls need to set this flag explicitly.

The reason for the warning is clear enough; the driver sends an
unusual read request on endpoint 0 but does not set the USB_DIR_IN bit
in the bRequestType field.

More importantly, the whole situation can be avoided and the driver
simplified by converting it over to the relatively new
usb_control_msg_recv() and usb_control_msg_send() routines.  That's
what this fix does.

668c3c237f sound updates for 6.0-rc1
As diffstat shows, we've had lots of developments in a wide range
 at this time; the majority of changes are about ASoC, including
 subsystem-wide cleanups, continued SOF / Intel updates and a
 bunch of new drivers (as usual), while there have been some
 significant (but almost invisible) improvements in ALSA core
 side, too. Below are some highlights:

 Core:
 - Faster lookups of control elements with Xarray; normal user
   won't notice, but on the devices with tons of control elements,
   it can be visibly faster
 - Support for input validation for controls; this will harden
   for badly written drivers in general with a slight overhead
 - Deferred async signal handling for working around the potential
   deadlocks
 - Cleanup / refactoring raw MIDI locking code

 ASoC:
 - Restructing of the set_fmt() callbacks for making things clearer
   in situations like CODEC to CODEC links
 - Clean up and modernizing the DAI naming scheme setups
 - Merge of more of the Intel AVS driver stack, including some
   board integrations
 - New version 4 mechanism for communication with SOF DSPs
 - Suppoort for dynamically selecting the PLL to use at runtime on
   i.MX platforms
 - Improvements for CODEC to CODEC support in the generic cards
 - Support for AMD Jadeite and various machines, AMD RPL, Intel
   MetorLake DSPs, Mediatek MT8186 DSPs and MT6366, nVidia Tegra
   MDDRC, OPE and PEQ, NXP TFA9890, Qualcomm SDM845, WCD9335 and
   WAS883x, and Texas Instruments TAS2780

 HD- and USB-audio:

 - More quirks for various devices (HP, Lenovo, Dell, Clevo)

The CSI receiver is a component separate from the ISP or the resizers.
It is actually optional, not all device model include a CSI receiver. On
some SoCs CSI-2 support can be provided through an external CSI-2
receiver, connected to the ISP's parallel input.

To support those use cases, create a V4L2 subdev to model the CSI
receiver. It will allow the driver to handle both internal and external
CSI receivers the same way.

The next commit will plumb the CSI subdev to the rest of the driver,
replacing direct function calls.
