371aedbfbb Documentation: Restrict TSC test code to x86
The prctl test code in Documentation/ tries to show how to
use a call that only makes sense on x86. Restrict it there
so that other platforms don't try to call asm("rdtsc").

317168d0c7 ALSA: pcm: Zero-clear reserved fields of PCM status ioctl in compat mode
In compat mode, we copy each field of snd_pcm_status struct but don't
touch the reserved fields, and this leaves uninitialized values
there.  Meanwhile the native ioctl does zero-clear the whole
structure, so we should follow the same rule in compat mode, too.

eb01d4c238 cxl: Fix PSL error due to duplicate segment table entries
In certain circumstances the PSL (Power Service Layer, which provides
translation services for CXL hardware) can send an interrupt for a
segment miss that the kernel has already handled. This can happen if
multiple translations for the same segment are queued in the PSL before
the kernel has restarted the first translation.

The CXL driver does not expect this situation and does not check if a
segment had already been handled. This could cause a duplicate segment
table entry which in turn caused a PSL error taking down the card.

This patch fixes the issue by checking for existing entries in the
segment table that match the segment we are trying to insert, so as to
avoid inserting duplicate entries.

03f5439797 powerpc/mm: Use appropriate ESID mask in copro_calculate_slb()
This patch makes copro_calculate_slb() mask the ESID by the correct mask
for 1T vs 256M segments.

This has no effect by itself as the extra bits were ignored, but it
makes debugging the segment table entries easier and means that we can
directly compare the ESID values for duplicates without needing to worry
about masking in the comparison.

This will be used to simplify a comparison in the following patch.

5100a9d644 cxl: Disable secondary hash in segment table
This patch simplifies the process of finding a free segment table entry
by disabling the secondary hash. This reduces the number of possible
entries in the segment table for a given address from 16 to 8.

Due to the large segment sizes we use it is extremely unlikely that the
secondary hash would ever have been used in practice, so this should not
have any negative impacts and may even improve performance due to the
reduced number of comparisons that software & hardware need to perform.

This patch clears the SC bit in the hardware's state register
(CXL_PSL_SR_An) to disable the secondary hash in the hardware since we
can no longer fill out entries using it.

7ce5c9268b ALSA: bebob: fix wrong decoding of clock information for Terratec PHASE 88 Rack FW
Terratec PHASE 88 rack fw has two registers for source of clock, one is
for internal/external, and another is for wordclock/spdif for external.

When clock source is internal, information in another register has no meaning.
Thus it must be ignored, but current implementation decodes it. This causes
over-indexing reference to labels.

59aa896db8 ARM/ARM64: arch-timer: fix arch_timer_probed logic
Commit c387f07e62 (clocksource: arm_arch_timer: Discard unavailable
timers correctly) changed the way the driver makes sure both the memory
and system-register timers have been probed before finalizing the probing.

There is a interesting flaw in this logic that leads to this final step
never to be executed. Things seems to work pretty well until something
actually needs the data that is produced during this final stage.

For example, KVM explodes on the first run of a guest when executed on
a platform that has both memory and sysreg nodes (Juno, for example).

Just fix the damned logic, and enjoy booting VMs again.

The use of 64-bit math on i386 causes build failures:
vdso_standalone_test_x86.c:(.text+0x101): undefined reference to `__umoddi3'
vdso_standalone_test_x86.c:(.text+0x12d): undefined reference to `__udivdi3'

Commit adb19fb66e (Documentation: add makefiles for more targets) is
now building this by default, so it's failing the kernel build entirely.

Switching the declaration from uint64_t to time_t does the right thing
and handles the x32 case automatically.

d1e61eb443 ARM: dts: imx28-evk: Let i2c0 run at 100kHz
Commit 78b81f4666 ("ARM: dts: imx28-evk: Run I2C0 at 400kHz") caused issues
when doing the following sequence in loop:

- Boot the kernel
- Perform audio playback
- Reboot the system via 'reboot' command

In many times the audio card cannot be probed, which causes playback to fail.

After restoring to the original i2c0 frequency of 100kHz there is no such
problem anymore.

This reverts commit 78b81f4666.

6891c4509c posix-timers: Fix stack info leak in timer_create()
If userland creates a timer without specifying a sigevent info, we'll
create one ourself, using a stack local variable. Particularly will we
use the timer ID as sival_int. But as sigev_value is a union containing
a pointer and an int, that assignment will only partially initialize
sigev_value on systems where the size of a pointer is bigger than the
size of an int. On such systems we'll copy the uninitialized stack bytes
from the timer_create() call to userland when the timer actually fires
and we're going to deliver the signal.

Initialize sigev_value with 0 to plug the stack info leak.

Found in the PaX patch, written by the PaX Team.

4fc409048d ftrace: Fix checking of trampoline ftrace_ops in finding trampoline
When modifying code, ftrace has several checks to make sure things
are being done correctly. One of them is to make sure any code it
modifies is exactly what it expects it to be before it modifies it.
In order to do so with the new trampoline logic, it must be able
to find out what trampoline a function is hooked to in order to
see if the code that hooks to it is what's expected.

The logic to find the trampoline from a record (accounting descriptor
for a function that is hooked) needs to only look at the "old_hash"
of an ops that is being modified. The old_hash is the list of function
an ops is hooked to before its update. Since a record would only be
pointing to an ops that is being modified if it was already hooked
before.

Currently, it can pick a modified ops based on its new functions it
will be hooked to, and this picks the wrong trampoline and causes
the check to fail, disabling ftrace.

The code that checks for trampolines when modifying function hooks
tests against a modified ops "old_hash". But the ops old_hash pointer
is not being updated before the changes are made, making it possible
to not find the right hash to the callback and possibly causing
ftrace to break in accounting and disable itself.

Have the ops set its old_hash before the modifying takes place.

3dec0fe48a arm64: Fix memblock current_limit with 64K pages and 48-bit VA
With 48-bit VA space, the 64K page configuration uses 3 levels instead
of 2 and PUD_SIZE != PMD_SIZE. Since with 64K pages we only cover
PMD_SIZE with the initial swapper_pg_dir populated in head.S, the
memblock current_limit needs to be set accordingly in map_mem() to avoid
allocating unmapped memory. The memblock current_limit is progressively
increased as more blocks are mapped.

It is not sufficient to only implement get_user_pages_fast(), you
must also implement the atomic version __get_user_pages_fast()
otherwise you end up using the weak symbol fallback implementation
which simply returns zero.

This is dangerous, because it causes the futex code to loop forever
if transparent hugepages are supported (see get_futex_key()).
