2f04cd2a9b power: reset: Convert to using %pOF instead of full_name
Now that we have a custom printf format specifier, convert users of
full_name to use %pOF instead. This is preparation to remove storing
of the full path string for each node.

f7a388d6cd power: reset: Add a driver for the Gemini poweroff
The Gemini (SL3516) SoC has a special power controller block
that only deal with shutting down the system.

If you do not register a driver and activate the block, the
power button on the systems utilizing this SoC will do an
uncontrolled power cut, which is why it is important to have
a special poweroff driver.

The most basic functionality is to just shut down the system
by writing a special bit in the control register after the
system has reached pm_poweroff.

It also handles the poweroff from a button or other sources:

When the poweroff button is pressed, or a signal is sent to
poweroff from an infrared remote control, or when the RTC
fires a special alarm (!) the system emits an interrupt.
At this point, Linux must acknowledge the interrupt and
proceed to do an orderly shutdown of the system.

After adding this driver, pressing the poweroff button gives
this dmesg:

root@gemini:/
root@gemini:/ gemini-poweroff 4b000000.power-controller:
poweroff button pressed

ktime_set(S,N) was required for the timespec storage type and is still

4fcd504edb power: reset: add reboot mode driver
This driver parses the reboot commands like "reboot bootloader"
and "reboot recovery" to get a boot mode described in the
device tree , then call the write interfae to store the boot
mode in some place like special register or sram, which can
be read by the bootloader after system reboot, then the bootloader
can take different action according to the mode stored.

This is commonly used on Android based devices, in order to
reboot the device into fastboot or recovery mode.

1ae25d626c power: reset: at91: add sama5d3 reset function
This patch introduces a new compatible string: "atmel,sama5d3-rstc" and
new reset function for sama5d3 and later chips.

As in sama5d3 or later chips, we don't have to shutdown the DDR
controller before reset. Shutdown the DDR controller before reset is a
workaround to avoid DDR signal driving the bus, but since sama5d3 and
later chips there is no such a conflict.

So in this patch:
   1. the sama5d3 reset function only need to write the rstc register
and return.
   2. we can remove the code related with sama5d3 DDR controller as
we don't use it at all.

Merge tag 'module-builtin_driver-v4.1-rc8' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/paulg/linux

Pull module_platform_driver replacement from Paul Gortmaker:
"Replace module_platform_driver with builtin_platform driver in non
  modules.

We see an increasing number of non-modular drivers using
modular_driver() type register functions. There are several downsides
  to letting this continue unchecked:

   - The code can appear modular to a reader of the code, and they won't
know if the code really is modular without checking the Makefile
and Kconfig to see if compilation is governed by a bool or
     tristate.

   - Coders of drivers may be tempted to code up an __exit function that
is never used, just in order to satisfy the required three args of
     the modular registration function.

   - Non-modular code ends up including the <module.h> which increases
CPP overhead that they don't need.

   - It hinders us from performing better separation of the module init
code and the generic init code.

So here we introduce similar macros for builtin drivers. Then we
convert builtin drivers (controlled by a bool Kconfig) by making the
  following type of mapping:

    module_platform_driver()       --->  builtin_platform_driver()
    module_platform_driver_probe() --->  builtin_platform_driver_probe().

The set of drivers that are converted here are just the ones that
showed up as relying on an implicit include of <module.h> during a
pending header cleanup. So we convert them here vs adding an include
of <module.h> to non-modular code to avoid compile fails. Additonal
conversions can be done asynchronously at any time.

Once again, an unused module_exit function that is removed here
appears in the diffstat as an outlier wrt all the other changes"

e35415e59f drivers/power: Convert non-modular syscon-reboot to use builtin_platform_driver
This file depends on Kconfig options all of which are a bool, so
we use the appropriate registration function, which avoids us
relying on an implicit inclusion of <module.h> which we are
doing currently.

While this currently works, we really don't want to be including
the module.h header in non-modular code, which we'd be forced
to do, pending some upcoming code relocation from init.h into
module.h. So we fix it now by using the non-modular equivalent.

bcd56fe1aa power: reset: gpio-restart: increase priority slightly
gpio-restart uses a priority of 128 and currently most soc-level restart
mechanisms use the same - with some exceptions even using 192.
But while the soc-level restarts are provided by the soc itself,
gpio-restarts will most of the time be board-specfic and be used
when some special board condition makes the soc-level restart
only a second choice.

The problem at hand manifested itself on the rk3288-veyron devices.
While the soc-level restart can sucessfully restart all other rockchip
boards I have, the veyron devices use an external restart mechanism that
seems to not only reset the soc but also some external needed components.

With both restart handlers having priority 128 in my tests the soc-specific
variant took precedent in all cases. While it could restart the soc
sucessfully in all cases, firmware then got an issue when talking to an
external component, resulting in the device being put into recovery mode.

So, give the board-specific restart handler a slight push and move it
to priority 129 to make it more important than the generic soc-specific
restart-handler.

ee18185331 power: reset: ltc2952: make trigger input optional
Currently the ltc2952 supports only one button sequence to initiate
powerdown. This is not always desirable, as even prolonged button
presses can happen in use.

Allow ltc2952 users to pick their own power down sequence, by making the
trigger input optional. Since this still means that the ltc2952 may
power down the platform if the power button is pressed for about 5
seconds, we still need to make sure to start the watchdog toggle to
prolong the system power for as long as we need it.

This will still allow the system to control power using the kill signal.

c1ada2ff80 power: reset: ltc2952: check trigger value before starting timer
In ltc2952_poweroff_handler it is theoretically possible that the timer
fails to start on first pass (button press), but succeeds in starting on
the second (button release). This will cause the button press to be
misinterpreted, and will incorrectly shut down the system. Because a
picture says more than a thousand words:

Expected behavior:
tmr:      ++++++++++
btn: -----__________-----

Faulty behavior:
tmr:                +++++
btn: -----__________-----

Legend:
+ timer runs
_ button pressed
- button depressed

To prevent this from happening, check the value of the gpio before
starting the timer. If the button is active, we should start the timer,
else we should stop it.

The situation described can now still occur if the polarity of the input
pin is set incorrectly, but that at least is predictable behavior and
can be detected during the first tests.

b81180b3fd power: reset: adjust priority of simple syscon reboot driver
Currently, all restart handler use the priority 128, including
watchdogs. Probably most SoC have a watchdog, and some of them
register it also as a restart handler. But if a SoC specifies
a dedicated reboot capability using this syscon driver, this is
usually the preferred reboot method. Hence, raise the priority
of this driver to 192.

0e545f57b7 power: reset: driver for the Versatile syscon reboot
This driver enabled us to drive the reboot of the Versatile family
of ARM reference boards. Even though only the RealView boards are
supported initially, these boards all have the same procedure for
reboot:

- Write a magic value into an unlocking register
- Write another magic value into a reset control register

The driver will be reusable for Versatile and possibly also the
Integrator family of reference boards.

86336ba4b7 power: poweroff: gpio: convert to use descriptors
This switches the GPIO poweroff driver to use GPIO descriptors
rather than numeral GPIOs. We get rid of the specific inversion
handling as GPIO descriptors know if they are active low or
high and can assert the line properly, so we do not need to
check the flag OF_GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW returned from the old call
of_get_gpio_flags() anymore.

Also convert to use managed resources and use dev_* message
printing while we're at it.

a727eaf64f ARM: SoC driver changes
SoC-near driver changes that we're merging through our tree. Mostly
because they depend on other changes we have staged, but in some cases
because the driver maintainers preferred that we did it this way.

This contains a largeish cleanup series of the omap_l3_noc bus driver,
cpuidle rework for Exynos, some reset driver conversions and a long
branch of TI EDMA fixes and cleanups, with more to come next release.

The TI EDMA cleanups is a shared branch with the dmaengine tree, with
a handful of Davinci-specific fixes on top.

After discussion at last year's KS (and some more on the mailing lists),
we are here adding a drivers/soc directory. The purpose of this is
to keep per-vendor shared code that's needed by different drivers but
that doesn't fit into the MFD (nor drivers/platform) model. We expect
to keep merging contents for this hierarchy through arm-soc so we can
keep an eye on what the vendors keep adding here and not making it a
free-for-all to shove in crazy stuff.

825f4e0271 ARM: SoC updates for 3.16 (part 1)

 - Multi-cluster power management for Samsung Exynos, adding support for
   big.LITTLE CPU switching on EXYNOS5
 - SMP support for Marvell Armada 375 and 38x
 - SMP rework on Allwinner A31
 - Xilinx Zynq support for SOC_BUS, big endian
 - Marvell orion5x platform cleanup, modernizing the implementation and
   moving to DT.
 - _Finally_ moving Samsung Exynos over to support MULTIPLATFORM, so
that their platform can be enabled in the same kernel binary as most
of the other v7 platforms in the tree. \o/ The work isn't quite complete,
there's some driver fixes still needed, but the basics now work.

 New SoC support added:
 - Freescale i.MX6SX
 - LSI Axxia AXM55xx SoCs
 - Samsung EXYNOS 3250, 5260, 5410, 5420 and 5800
 - STi STIH407

Plus a large set of various smaller updates for different platforms. I'm
probably missing some important one here.

a3e01e8022 power: reset: keystone-reset: introduce keystone reset driver
The keystone SoC can be rebooted in several ways. By external reset
pin, by soft and by watchdogs. To allow keystone SoC reset if
watchdog is triggered we have to enable it in reset mux configuration
register regarding of watchdog configuration. Also we need to set
soft/hard reset we are going to use.

So add keystone reset driver to handle all this stuff.

650052b141 Merge branch 'axxia/soc' into next/soc
Patches from Anders Berg applied individually:

Here is version 4 of platform support for AXM5516 SoC.

The clk driver is now applied to clk-next. The rest should be ready for
arm-soc. Haven't got any response from the power/reset maintainers... I hope
this driver can be taken via arm-soc as well.

The AXM55xx family consists of devices that may contain up to 16 ARM Cortex-A15
cores (in a 4x4 cluster configuration). The cores within each cluster share an
L2 cache, and the clusters are connected to each other via a CCN-504 cache
coherent interconnect.

This machine requires CONFIG_ARM_LPAE enabled as all peripherals are located
above 4GB in the memory map.

3b9334ac83 mfd: vexpress: Convert custom func API to regmap
Components of the Versatile Express platform (configuration
microcontrollers on motherboard and daughterboards in particular)
talk to each other over a custom configuration bus. They
provide miscellaneous functions (from clock generator control
to energy sensors) which are represented as platform devices
(and Device Tree nodes). The transactions on the bus can
be generated by different "bridges" in the system, some
of which are universal for the whole platform (for the price
of high transfer latencies), others restricted to a subsystem
(but much faster).

Until now drivers for such functions were using custom "func"
API, which is being replaced in this patch by regmap calls.
This required:

* a rework (and move to drivers/bus directory, as suggested
by Samuel and Arnd) of the config bus core, which is much
simpler now and uses device model infrastructure (class)
to keep track of the bridges; non-DT case (soon to be
retired anyway) is simply covered by a special device
  registration function

* the new config-bus driver also takes over device population,
so there is no need for special matching table for
  of_platform_populate nor "simple-bus" hack in the arm64
model dtsi file (relevant bindings documentation has
been updated); this allows all the vexpress devices
fit into normal device model, making it possible
to remove plenty of early inits and other hacks in
  the near future

* adaptation of the syscfg bridge implementation in the
sysreg driver, again making it much simpler; there is
a special case of the "energy" function spanning two
registers, where they should be both defined in the tree
now, but backward compatibility is maintained in the code

* modification of the relevant drivers:

  * hwmon - just a straight-forward API change
  * power/reset driver - API change
  * regulator - API change plus error handling
    simplification
  * osc clock driver - this one required larger rework
in order to turn in into a standard platform driver

d08b80373c power/reset: vexpress: Fix restart/power off operation
The restart/power off implementation in the vexpress driver
used to obtain the config function when necessary. This was
wrong in two respects:

1. It required memory allocation with disabled interrupts
(it worked, but lockdep - when enabled - reported warnings).

2. Used jiffies-based timeout, while jiffies are not running
at this stage of system shutdown (therefore a config
transaction error - if happened - would have never be reported).

Fixed by pre-allocating the config function per device
and using mdelay for timeout.

5a1203914a - Four new drivers:
o goldfish_battery:
This is Android Emulator battery driver. Originally from Google, but
     Intel folks reshaped it for mainline;

   o pm2301_charger:
A new driver for ST-Ericsson 2301 Power Management chip, uses AB8500
     battery management core;

   o qnap-poweroff:
     The driver adds poweroff functionality for QNAP NAS boxes;

   o restart-poweroff:
A generic driver that implements 'power off by restarting'. The actual
poweroff functionality is implemented through a bootloader, so Linux'
task is just to restart the box. The driver is useful on Buffalo
Linkstation LS-XHL and LS-CHLv2 boards. Andrew Lunn worked on
submitting the driver (as well as qnap-poweroff above).

 - A lot of fixes for ab8500 drivers. This is a part of efforts of syncing
internal ST-Ericsson development tree with the mainline. Lee Jones @
   Linaro worked on compilation and reshaping these series;

 - New health properties for the power supplies: "Watchdog timer expire"
   and "Safety timer expire";

 - As usual, a bunch of fixes/cleanups here and there.

Merge tag 'for-v3.9' of git://git.infradead.org/battery-2.6

Pull battery updates from Anton Vorontsov:
 "Four new drivers:

   - goldfish_battery:

This is Android Emulator battery driver. Originally from Google,
but Intel folks reshaped it for mainline

   - pm2301_charger:

A new driver for ST-Ericsson 2301 Power Management chip, uses
     AB8500 battery management core

   - qnap-poweroff:

The driver adds poweroff functionality for QNAP NAS boxes

   - restart-poweroff:

A generic driver that implements 'power off by restarting'. The
actual poweroff functionality is implemented through a bootloader,
so Linux' task is just to restart the box. The driver is useful on
Buffalo Linkstation LS-XHL and LS-CHLv2 boards. Andrew Lunn worked
on submitting the driver (as well as qnap-poweroff above).

  Additionally:

   - A lot of fixes for ab8500 drivers. This is a part of efforts of
syncing internal ST-Ericsson development tree with the mainline.
Lee Jones @ Linaro worked on compilation and reshaping these
     series.

   - New health properties for the power supplies: "Watchdog timer
     expire" and "Safety timer expire"

   - As usual, a bunch of fixes/cleanups here and there"

974b33586b ARM: arm-soc fixes for 3.8-rc
People are back from the holiday breaks, and it shows. Here are a bunch of
fixes for a number of platforms:
  - A couple of small fixes for Nomadik
  - A larger set of changes for kirkwood/mvebu
    - uart driver selection, dt clocks, gpio-poweroff fixups,
a few __init annotation fixes and some error handling improvement
      in their xor dma driver.
  - i.MX had a couple of minor fixes (and a critical one for flexcan2
    clock setup)
  - MXS has a small board fix and a framebuffer bugfix
  - A set of fixes for Samsung Exynos, fixing default bootargs and some
    Exynos5440 clock issues
  - A set of OMAP changes including PM fixes and a few sparse warning
    fixups

All in all a bit more positive code delta than we'd ideally want to see
here, mostly from the OMAP PM changes, but nothing overly crazy.

ffd8f9a727 power/reset: Add a new driver implementing 'power off by restarting'
Some devices, Buffalo Linkstation LS-XHL and LS-CHLv2 for example,
power-off by restarting to letting u-boot hold the SoC until the user
presses a key. Add a generic driver to implement this. It binds a function
to pm_power_off, which calls arm_pm_restart.

such a command.

6d2cea4fca Drivers: power: remove __dev* attributes.
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev*
markings need to be removed.

This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitconst,
and __devexit from these drivers.

Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me
in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand.
