Sergey Shtylyov 544561dc56 of: module: prevent NULL pointer dereference in vsnprintf()
commit a1aa5390cc upstream.

In of_modalias(), we can get passed the str and len parameters which would
cause a kernel oops in vsnprintf() since it only allows passing a NULL ptr
when the length is also 0. Also, we need to filter out the negative values
of the len parameter as these will result in a really huge buffer since
snprintf() takes size_t parameter while ours is ssize_t...

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with the Svace static
analysis tool.

Herve Codina ae6d76e4f0 of: dynamic: Synchronize of_changeset_destroy() with the devlink removals
commit 8917e73853 upstream.

In the following sequence:
  1) of_platform_depopulate()
  2) of_overlay_remove()

During the step 1, devices are destroyed and devlinks are removed.
During the step 2, OF nodes are destroyed but
__of_changeset_entry_destroy() can raise warnings related to missing
of_node_put():
  ERROR: memory leak, expected refcount 1 instead of 2 ...

Indeed, during the devlink removals performed at step 1, the removal
itself releasing the device (and the attached of_node) is done by a job
queued in a workqueue and so, it is done asynchronously with respect to
function calls.
When the warning is present, of_node_put() will be called but wrongly
too late from the workqueue job.

In order to be sure that any ongoing devlink removals are done before
the of_node destruction, synchronize the of_changeset_destroy() with the
devlink removals.

Saravana Kannan 7cb50f6c9f of: property: fw_devlink: Fix stupid bug in remote-endpoint parsing
Introduced a stupid bug in commit 782bfd03c3 ("of: property: Improve
finding the supplier of a remote-endpoint property") due to a last minute
incorrect edit of "index !=0" into "!index". This patch fixes it to be
"index > 0" to match the comment right next to it.

Saravana Kannan 8f1e0d791b of: property: Add in-ports/out-ports support to of_graph_get_port_parent()
Similar to the existing "ports" node name, coresight device tree bindings
have added "in-ports" and "out-ports" as standard node names for a
collection of ports.

Add support for these name to of_graph_get_port_parent() so that
remote-endpoint parsing can find the correct parent node for these
coresight ports too.

Saravana Kannan 782bfd03c3 of: property: Improve finding the supplier of a remote-endpoint property
After commit 4a032827da ("of: property: Simplify of_link_to_phandle()"),
remote-endpoint properties created a fwnode link from the consumer device
to the supplier endpoint. This is a tiny bit inefficient (not buggy) when
trying to create device links or detecting cycles. So, improve this the
same way we improved finding the consumer of a remote-endpoint property.

Saravana Kannan f4653ec986 of: property: Improve finding the consumer of a remote-endpoint property
We have a more accurate function to find the right consumer of a
remote-endpoint property instead of searching for a parent with
compatible string property. So, use that instead. While at it, make the
code to find the consumer a bit more flexible and based on the property
being parsed.

Christian A. Ehrhardt 607aad1e43 of: unittest: Fix compile in the non-dynamic case
If CONFIG_OF_KOBJ is not set, a device_node does not contain a
kobj and attempts to access the embedded kobj via kref_read break
the compile.

Replace affected kref_read calls with a macro that reads the
refcount if it exists and returns 1 if there is no embedded kobj.

Christian A. Ehrhardt 4dde835698 of: Fix double free in of_parse_phandle_with_args_map
In of_parse_phandle_with_args_map() the inner loop that
iterates through the map entries calls of_node_put(new)
to free the reference acquired by the previous iteration
of the inner loop. This assumes that the value of "new" is
NULL on the first iteration of the inner loop.

Make sure that this is true in all iterations of the outer
loop by setting "new" to NULL after its value is assigned to "cur".

Extend the unittest to detect the double free and add an additional
test case that actually triggers this path.

Javier Martinez Canillas 3310288f61 of/platform: Disable sysfb if a simple-framebuffer node is found
Some DT platforms use EFI to boot and in this case the EFI Boot Services
may register a EFI_GRAPHICS_OUTPUT_PROTOCOL handle, that will later be
queried by the Linux EFI stub to fill the global struct screen_info data.

The data is used by the Generic System Framebuffers (sysfb) framework to
add a platform device with platform data about the system framebuffer.

But if there is a "simple-framebuffer" node in the DT, the OF core will
also do the same and add another device for the system framebuffer.

This could lead for example, to two platform devices ("simple-framebuffer"
and "efi-framebuffer") to be added and matched with their corresponding
drivers. So both efifb and simpledrm will be probed, leading to following:

[    0.055752] efifb: framebuffer at 0xbd58dc000, using 16000k, total 16000k
[    0.055755] efifb: mode is 2560x1600x32, linelength=10240, pages=1
[    0.055758] efifb: scrolling: redraw
[    0.055759] efifb: Truecolor: size=2:10:10:10, shift=30:20:10:0
...
[    3.295896] simple-framebuffer bd58dc000.framebuffer: [drm] *ERROR*
could not acquire memory range [??? 0xffff79f30a29ee40-0x2a5000001a7
flags 0x0]: -16
[    3.298018] simple-framebuffer: probe of bd58dc000.framebuffer
failed with error -16

To prevent the issue, make the OF core to disable sysfb if there is a node
with a "simple-framebuffer" compatible. That way only this device will be
registered and sysfb would not attempt to register another one using the
screen_info data even if this has been filled.

This seems the correct thing to do in this case because:

a) On a DT platform, the DTB is the single source of truth since is what
   describes the hardware topology. Even if EFI Boot Services are used to
   boot the machine.

b) The of_platform_default_populate_init() function is called in the
   arch_initcall_sync() initcall level while the sysfb_init() function
   is called later in the subsys_initcall() initcall level.

Rob Herring 73ae308801 of: address: Consolidate bus .map() functions
The bus .map() functions vary only by checking the flag cells values
and skipping over any flag cells to read the addresses. Otherwise they
all do the same reading 'ranges' address and size and returning the
address's offset if it is within the 'ranges' entry.

Refactor all the .map() functions to pass in the flag cell size so that
each bus can check the bus specific flags and then call a common
function to do everything else.

Rob Herring 88696db08b of: address: Store number of bus flag cells rather than bool
It is more useful to know how many flags cells a bus has rather than
whether a bus has flags or not as ultimately the number of cells is the
information used. Replace 'has_flags' boolean with 'flag_cells' count.

Add tests to exercise address translations based on ranges properties.

Herve Codina 42604f8eb7 of: address: Fix address translation when address-size is greater than 2
With the recent addition of of_pci_prop_ranges() in commit 407d1a5192
("PCI: Create device tree node for bridge"), the ranges property can
have a 3 cells child address, a 3 cells parent address and a 2 cells
child size.

A range item property for a PCI device is filled as follow:
  <BAR_nbr> 0 0 <phys.hi> <phys.mid> <phys.low> <BAR_sizeh> <BAR_sizel>
  <-- Child --> <-- Parent (PCI definition) --> <- BAR size (64bit) -->

This allow to translate BAR addresses from the DT. For instance:
pci@0,0 {
  #address-cells = <0x03>;
  #size-cells = <0x02>;
  device_type = "pci";
  compatible = "pci11ab,100", "pciclass,060400", "pciclass,0604";
  ranges = <0x82000000 0x00 0xe8000000
            0x82000000 0x00 0xe8000000
	    0x00 0x4400000>;
  ...
  dev@0,0 {
    #address-cells = <0x03>;
    #size-cells = <0x02>;
    compatible = "pci1055,9660", "pciclass,020000", "pciclass,0200";
    /* Translations for BAR0 to BAR5 */
    ranges = <0x00 0x00 0x00 0x82010000 0x00 0xe8000000 0x00 0x2000000
              0x01 0x00 0x00 0x82010000 0x00 0xea000000 0x00 0x1000000
              0x02 0x00 0x00 0x82010000 0x00 0xeb000000 0x00 0x800000
              0x03 0x00 0x00 0x82010000 0x00 0xeb800000 0x00 0x800000
              0x04 0x00 0x00 0x82010000 0x00 0xec000000 0x00 0x20000
              0x05 0x00 0x00 0x82010000 0x00 0xec020000 0x00 0x2000>;
    ...
    pci-ep-bus@0 {
      #address-cells = <0x01>;
      #size-cells = <0x01>;
      compatible = "simple-bus";
      /* Translate 0xe2000000 to BAR0 and 0xe0000000 to BAR1 */
      ranges = <0xe2000000 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x2000000
                0xe0000000 0x01 0x00 0x00 0x1000000>;
      ...
    };
  };
};

During the translation process, the "default-flags" map() function is
used to select the matching item in the ranges table and determine the
address offset from this matching item.
This map() function simply calls of_read_number() and when address-size
is greater than 2, the map() function skips the extra high address part
(ie part over 64bit). This lead to a wrong matching item and a wrong
offset computation.
Also during the translation itself, the extra high part related to the
parent address is not present in the translated address.

Fix the "default-flags" map() and translate() in order to take into
account the child extra high address part in map() and the parent extra
high address part in translate() and so having a correct address
translation for ranges patterns such as the one given in the example
above.

Andy Shevchenko ca5a75df36 amba: bus: balance firmware node reference counting
Currently the ACPI code doesn't bump the reference count of
the firmware node, while OF counter part does. Not that it's
a problem right now, since ACPI doesn't really use the reference
counting for firmware nodes, it still makes sense to make code
robust against any changes done there. For this,
 - switch ACPI case to use device_set_node() to be unified with OF
 - move reference counting to amba_device_add()
 - switch to use firmware nodes instead of OF ones

In the result we will have reference counting done in the same module
for all callers independently on the nature of firmware node behind.

Rob Herring 5a7319b967 of: unittest: Fix of_unittest_pci_node() kconfig dependencies
of_unittest_pci_node test depends on both CONFIG_PCI_DYNAMIC_OF_NODES
and CONFIG_OF_OVERLAY. Move the test into the existing
CONFIG_OF_OVERLAY ifdef and rework the CONFIG_PCI_DYNAMIC_OF_NODES
dependency to use IS_ENABLED() instead. This reduces the combinations to
build.

Geert Uytterhoeven 121b83eadd of: unittest-data: Convert remaining overlay DTS files to sugar syntax
Overlay syntactic sugar for generating target-path fragments is
supported by the version of dtc supplied with the kernel since commit
50aafd6089 ("scripts/dtc: Update to upstream version
v1.4.6-21-g84e414b0b5bc"). Hence convert the remaining unittest overlay
devicetree source files to sugar syntax, improving readability.

This completes the work started in commit db2f3762d6 ("of: convert
unittest overlay devicetree source to sugar syntax").

Geert Uytterhoeven 0676aeeca5 of: unittest: Cleanup partially-applied overlays
When of_overlay_fdt_apply() fails, the changeset may be partially
applied, and the caller is still expected to call of_overlay_remove() to
clean up this partial state. However, overlay_17 is the only test that
takes care of cleaning up after an (expected) failure.

Instead of adding cleanup code to each individual test, extend
overlay_info with the optional expected return value of
of_overlay_remove(), and handle cleanup in the overlay_data_apply()
helper. While at it, simplify the end marker in the overlay_info table.

Update the expected error output for errors during the newly cleanup.
