9aa7a3ffb1 NFSv4/pnfs: The layout barrier indicate a minimal value for the seqid
[ Upstream commit d6236a98b3 ]

The intention of the layout barrier is to ensure that we do not update
the layout to match an older value than the current expectation. Fix the
test in pnfs_layout_stateid_blocked() to reflect that it is legal for
the seqid of the stateid to match that of the barrier.

2a542421eb NFSv4/pNFS: Always allow update of a zero valued layout barrier

4b96edea5c NFSv4/pNFS: Fix a layoutget livelock loop
[ Upstream commit e20772cbdf ]

If NFS_LAYOUT_RETURN_REQUESTED is set, but there is no value set for
the layout plh_return_seq, we can end up in a livelock loop in which
every layout segment retrieved by a new call to layoutget is immediately
invalidated by pnfs_layout_need_return().
To get around this, we should just set plh_return_seq to the current
value of the layout stateid's seqid.

commit 6e3e2c4362 upstream.

a668a77e6a NFSv4/pnfs: Fix the layout barrier update
[ Upstream commit aa95edf309 ]

If we have multiple outstanding layoutget requests, the current code to
update the layout barrier assumes that the outstanding layout stateids
are updated in order. That's not necessarily the case.

Instead of using the value of lo->plh_outstanding as a guesstimate for
the window of values we need to accept, just wait to update the window
until we're processing the last one. The intention here is just to
ensure that we don't process 2^31 seqid updates without also updating
the barrier.

6e13b9bc66 NFSv4: nfs4_proc_set_acl needs to restore NFS_CAP_UIDGID_NOMAP on error.
commit f8849e206e upstream.

Currently if __nfs4_proc_set_acl fails with NFS4ERR_BADOWNER it
re-enables the idmapper by clearing NFS_CAP_UIDGID_NOMAP before
retrying again. The NFS_CAP_UIDGID_NOMAP remains cleared even if
the retry fails. This causes problem for subsequent setattr
requests for v4 server that does not have idmapping configured.

This patch modifies nfs4_proc_set_acl to detect NFS4ERR_BADOWNER
and NFS4ERR_BADNAME and skips the retry, since the kernel isn't
involved in encoding the ACEs, and return -EINVAL.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

 # mount -o vers=4.1,sec=sys server:/export/test /tmp/mnt
 # touch /tmp/mnt/file1
 # chown 99 /tmp/mnt/file1
 # nfs4_setfacl -a A::unknown.user@xyz.com:wrtncy /tmp/mnt/file1
 Failed setxattr operation: Invalid argument
 # chown 99 /tmp/mnt/file1
 chown: changing ownership of ‘/tmp/mnt/file1’: Invalid argument
 # umount /tmp/mnt
 # mount -o vers=4.1,sec=sys server:/export/test /tmp/mnt
 # chown 99 /tmp/mnt/file1

c3b6cf64df NFS: Fix use-after-free in nfs4_init_client()
commit 476bdb04c5 upstream.

KASAN reports a use-after-free when attempting to mount two different
exports through two different NICs that belong to the same server.

Olga was able to hit this with kernels starting somewhere between 5.7

4.13. So something must have changed in the refcounting of the clp
pointer to make this call to nfs_put_client() the very last one.

b4651cea43 NFSv4: Fix deadlock between nfs4_evict_inode() and nfs4_opendata_get_inode()
[ Upstream commit dfe1fe75e0 ]

If the inode is being evicted, but has to return a delegation first,
then it can cause a deadlock in the corner case where the server reboots
before the delegreturn completes, but while the call to iget5_locked() in
nfs4_opendata_get_inode() is waiting for the inode free to complete.
Since the open call still holds a session slot, the reboot recovery
cannot proceed.

In order to break the logjam, we can turn the delegation return into a
privileged operation for the case where we're evicting the inode. We
know that in that case, there can be no other state recovery operation
that conflicts.

struct nfs_fh {

Fix shift out-of-bounds in xprt_calc_majortimeo(). This is caused
by a garbage timeout (retrans) mount option being passed to nfs mount,
in this case from syzkaller.

If the protocol is XPRT_TRANSPORT_UDP, then 'retrans' is a shift
value for a 64-bit long integer, so 'retrans' cannot be >= 64.
If it is >= 64, fail the mount and return an error.

9f70460801 nfs: we don't support removing system.nfs4_acl
[ Upstream commit 4f8be1f53b ]

The NFSv4 protocol doesn't have any notion of reomoving an attribute, so
removexattr(path,"system.nfs4_acl") doesn't make sense.

There's no documented return value. Arguably it could be EOPNOTSUPP but
I'm a little worried an application might take that to mean that we
don't support ACLs or xattrs. How about EINVAL?

9d1a5392ac NFS: Correct size calculation for create reply length
[ Upstream commit ad3dbe35c8 ]

CREATE requests return a post_op_fh3, rather than nfs_fh3. The
post_op_fh3 includes an extra word to indicate 'handle_follows'.

Without that additional word, create fails when full 64-byte

Add NFS3_post_op_fh_sz, and correct the size calculation for

caa86901c8 NFSv4.2: fix return value of _nfs4_get_security_label()
[ Upstream commit 53cb245454 ]

An xattr 'get' handler is expected to return the length of the value on
success, yet _nfs4_get_security_label() (and consequently also
nfs4_xattr_get_nfs4_label(), which is used as an xattr handler) returns
just 0 on success.

Fix this by returning label.len instead, which contains the length of
the result.

dd756d05be NFS: Don't revalidate the directory permissions on a lookup failure
[ Upstream commit 82e7ca1334 ]

There should be no reason to expect the directory permissions to change
just because the directory contents changed or a negative lookup timed
out. So let's avoid doing a full call to nfs_mark_for_revalidate() in
that case.
Furthermore, if this is a negative dentry, and we haven't actually done
a new lookup, then we have no reason yet to believe the directory has
changed at all. So let's remove the gratuitous directory inode
invalidation altogether when called from
nfs_lookup_revalidate_negative().

9468ab8a27 NFSv4: Fixes for nfs4_bitmask_adjust()

We don't want to ask for the ACL in a WRITE reply, since we don't have
a preallocated buffer.

Instead of checking NFS_INO_INVALID_ACCESS, which is really about
managing the access cache, we should look at the value of
NFS_INO_INVALID_OTHER. Also ensure we assign the mode, owner and
owner_group flags to the correct bit mask.

Finally, fix up the check for NFS_INO_INVALID_CTIME to retrieve the
ctime, and add a check for NFS_INO_INVALID_CHANGE.

ff557bf971 pNFS/NFSv4: Improve rejection of out-of-order layouts
[ Upstream commit d29b468da4 ]

If a layoutget ends up being reordered w.r.t. a layoutreturn, e.g. due
to a layoutget-on-open not knowing a priori which file to lock, then we
must assume the layout is no longer being considered valid state by the
server.
Incrementally improve our ability to reject such states by using the
cached old stateid in conjunction with the plh_barrier to try to
identify them.
