Before this patch, devlink traps are registered only on full driver
probe and unregistered on driver removal. As devlink traps are not
usable once driver functionality is unloaded, it should be unrgeistered
also on flows that unload the driver and then registered when loaded
back, e.g. devlink reload flow.

Update devlink health fw fatal reporter state to "healthy" is needed by
strictly calling devlink_health_reporter_state_update() after recovery
was done by PCI error handler. This is needed when fw_fatal reporter was
triggered due to PCI error. Poll health is called and set reporter state
to error. Health recovery failed (since EEH didn't re-enable the PCI).
PCI handlers keep on recover flow and succeed later without devlink
acknowledgment. Fix this by adding devlink state update at the end of
the PCI handler recovery process.

add, update and delete.
In Connect-X MACsec, a Security Association (SA) is added or deleted
via allocating a HW context of an encryption/decryption key and
a HW context of a matching SA (MACsec object).
When new SA is added:
- Use a separate crypto key HW context.
- Create a separate MACsec context in HW to include the SA properties.
Introduce a new compilation flag MLX5_EN_MACSEC for it.

When the RDMA auxiliary driver probes, it sets its profile based on
devlink driverinit value. The latter might not be in sync with FW yet
(In case devlink reload is not performed), thus causing a mismatch
between RDMA driver and FW. This results in the following FW syndrome
when the RDMA driver tries to adjust RoCE state, which fails the probe:
"0xC1F678 | modify_nic_vport_context: roce_en set on a vport that
doesn't support roce"
To prevent this, select the PF profile based on FW RoCE capability
instead of relying on devlink driverinit value.
To provide backward compatibility of the RoCE disable feature, on older
FW's where roce_rw is not set (FW RoCE capability is read-only), keep
the current behavior e.g., rely on devlink driverinit value.

Currently, health recovery will reload driver to recover it from fatal
errors. During the driver's load process, it would wait for FW to set the
pre-init bit for up to 120 seconds, beyond this threshold it would abort
the load process. In some cases, such as a FW upgrade on the DPU, this
timeout period is insufficient, and the user has no way to recover the
host device.
To solve this issue, introduce a new FW pre-init timeout for health
recovery, which is set to 2 hours.
The timeout for devlink reload and probe will use the original one because
they are user triggered flows, and therefore should not have a
significantly long timeout, during which the user command would hang.

- Introduce XDP multi-buffer support, allowing the use of XDP with
jumbo frame MTUs and combination with Rx coalescing offloads (LRO).
- Speed up netns dismantling (5x) and lower the memory cost a little.
Remove unnecessary per-netns sockets. Scope some lists to a netns.
Cut down RCU syncing. Use batch methods. Allow netdev registration
to complete out of order.
- Support distinguishing timestamp types (ingress vs egress) and
maintaining them across packet scrubbing points (e.g. redirect).
- Continue the work of annotating packet drop reasons throughout
the stack.
- Switch netdev error counters from an atomic to dynamically
allocated per-CPU counters.
- Rework a few preempt_disable(), local_irq_save() and busy waiting
sections problematic on PREEMPT_RT.
- Extend the ref_tracker to allow catching use-after-free bugs.
BPF
---
- Introduce "packing allocator" for BPF JIT images. JITed code is
marked read only, and used to be allocated at page granularity.
Custom allocator allows for more efficient memory use, lower
iTLB pressure and prevents identity mapping huge pages from
getting split.
- Make use of BTF type annotations (e.g. __user, __percpu) to enforce
the correct probe read access method, add appropriate helpers.
- Convert the BPF preload to use light skeleton and drop
the user-mode-driver dependency.
- Allow XDP BPF_PROG_RUN test infra to send real packets, enabling
its use as a packet generator.
- Allow local storage memory to be allocated with GFP_KERNEL if called
from a hook allowed to sleep.
- Introduce fprobe (multi kprobe) to speed up mass attachment (arch
bits to come later).
- Add unstable conntrack lookup helpers for BPF by using the BPF
kfunc infra.
- Allow cgroup BPF progs to return custom errors to user space.
- Add support for AF_UNIX iterator batching.
- Allow iterator programs to use sleepable helpers.
- Support JIT of add, and, or, xor and xchg atomic ops on arm64.
- Add BTFGen support to bpftool which allows to use CO-RE in kernels
without BTF info.
- Large number of libbpf API improvements, cleanups and deprecations.
Protocols
---------
- Micro-optimize UDPv6 Tx, gaining up to 5% in test on dummy netdev.
- Adjust TSO packet sizes based on min_rtt, allowing very low latency
links (data centers) to always send full-sized TSO super-frames.
- Make IPv6 flow label changes (AKA hash rethink) more configurable,
via sysctl and setsockopt. Distinguish between server and client
behavior.
- VxLAN support to "collect metadata" devices to terminate only
configured VNIs. This is similar to VLAN filtering in the bridge.
- Support inserting IPv6 IOAM information to a fraction of frames.
- Add protocol attribute to IP addresses to allow identifying where
given address comes from (kernel-generated, DHCP etc.)
- Support setting socket and IPv6 options via cmsg on ping6 sockets.
- Reject mis-use of ECN bits in IP headers as part of DSCP/TOS.
Define dscp_t and stop taking ECN bits into account in fib-rules.
- Add support for locked bridge ports (for 802.1X).
- tun: support NAPI for packets received from batched XDP buffs,
doubling the performance in some scenarios.
- IPv6 extension header handling in Open vSwitch.
- Support IPv6 control message load balancing in bonding, prevent
neighbor solicitation and advertisement from using the wrong port.
Support NS/NA monitor selection similar to existing ARP monitor.
- SMC
- improve performance with TCP_CORK and sendfile()
- support auto-corking
- support TCP_NODELAY
- MCTP (Management Component Transport Protocol)
- add user space tag control interface
- I2C binding driver (as specified by DMTF DSP0237)
- Multi-BSSID beacon handling in AP mode for WiFi.
- Bluetooth:
- handle MSFT Monitor Device Event
- add MGMT Adv Monitor Device Found/Lost events
- Multi-Path TCP:
- add support for the SO_SNDTIMEO socket option
- lots of selftest cleanups and improvements
- Increase the max PDU size in CAN ISOTP to 64 kB.
Driver API
----------
- Add HW counters for SW netdevs, a mechanism for devices which
offload packet forwarding to report packet statistics back to
software interfaces such as tunnels.
- Select the default NIC queue count as a fraction of number of
physical CPU cores, instead of hard-coding to 8.
- Expose devlink instance locks to drivers. Allow device layer of
drivers to use that lock directly instead of creating their own
which always runs into ordering issues in devlink callbacks.
- Add header/data split indication to guide user space enabling
of TCP zero-copy Rx.
- Allow configuring completion queue event size.
- Refactor page_pool to enable fragmenting after allocation.
- Add allocation and page reuse statistics to page_pool.
- Improve Multiple Spanning Trees support in the bridge to allow
reuse of topologies across VLANs, saving HW resources in switches.
- DSA (Distributed Switch Architecture):
- replay and offload of host VLAN entries
- offload of static and local FDB entries on LAG interfaces
- FDB isolation and unicast filtering

Merge tag 'net-next-5.18' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next
Pull networking updates from Jakub Kicinski:
"The sprinkling of SPI drivers is because we added a new one and Mark
sent us a SPI driver interface conversion pull request.
Core
----
- Introduce XDP multi-buffer support, allowing the use of XDP with
jumbo frame MTUs and combination with Rx coalescing offloads (LRO).
- Speed up netns dismantling (5x) and lower the memory cost a little.
Remove unnecessary per-netns sockets. Scope some lists to a netns.
Cut down RCU syncing. Use batch methods. Allow netdev registration
to complete out of order.
- Support distinguishing timestamp types (ingress vs egress) and
maintaining them across packet scrubbing points (e.g. redirect).
- Continue the work of annotating packet drop reasons throughout the
stack.
- Switch netdev error counters from an atomic to dynamically
allocated per-CPU counters.
- Rework a few preempt_disable(), local_irq_save() and busy waiting
sections problematic on PREEMPT_RT.
- Extend the ref_tracker to allow catching use-after-free bugs.
BPF
---
- Introduce "packing allocator" for BPF JIT images. JITed code is
marked read only, and used to be allocated at page granularity.
Custom allocator allows for more efficient memory use, lower iTLB
pressure and prevents identity mapping huge pages from getting
split.
- Make use of BTF type annotations (e.g. __user, __percpu) to enforce
the correct probe read access method, add appropriate helpers.
- Convert the BPF preload to use light skeleton and drop the
user-mode-driver dependency.
- Allow XDP BPF_PROG_RUN test infra to send real packets, enabling
its use as a packet generator.
- Allow local storage memory to be allocated with GFP_KERNEL if
called from a hook allowed to sleep.
- Add header/data split indication to guide user space enabling of
TCP zero-copy Rx.
- Allow configuring completion queue event size.
- Refactor page_pool to enable fragmenting after allocation.
- Add allocation and page reuse statistics to page_pool.
- Improve Multiple Spanning Trees support in the bridge to allow
reuse of topologies across VLANs, saving HW resources in switches.
- DSA (Distributed Switch Architecture):
- replay and offload of host VLAN entries
- offload of static and local FDB entries on LAG interfaces
- FDB isolation and unicast filtering

mlx5-next 2022-22-02
The following PR includes updates to mlx5-next branch:
Headlines:
==========
1) Jakub cleans up unused static inline functions
2) I did some low level firmware command interface return status changes to
provide the caller with full visibility on the error/status returned by
the Firmware.
3) Use the new command interface in RDMA DEVX usecases to avoid flooding
dmesg with some "expected" user error prone use cases.
4) Moshe also uses the new command interface to grab the specific error
code from MFRL register command to provide the exact error reason for
why SW reset couldn't perform internally in FW.
5) From Mark Bloch: Lag, drop packets in hardware when possible
In active-backup mode the inactive interface's packets are dropped by the
bond device. In switchdev where TC rules are offloaded to the FDB
this can lead to packets being hit in the FDB where without offload
they would have been dropped before reaching TC rules in the kernel.
Create a drop rule to make sure packets on inactive ports are dropped
before reaching the FDB.
Listen on NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER / NETDEV_CHANGEINFODATA events and record
the inactive state and offload accordingly.

Expose an API to get the mlx5 core device from a given VF PCI device if
mlx5_core is its driver.
Upon the get API we stay with the intf_state_mutex locked to make sure
that the device can't be gone/unloaded till the caller will complete
its job over the device, this expects to be for a short period of time
for any flow that the lock is taken.
Upon the put API we unlock the intf_state_mutex.
The use case for those APIs is the migration flow of a VF over VFIO PCI.
In that case the VF doesn't ride on mlx5_core, because the device is
driving *two* different PCI devices, the PF owned by mlx5_core and the
VF owned by the vfio driver.
The mlx5_core of the PF is accessed only during the narrow window of the
VF's ioctl that requires its services.
This allows the PF driver to be more independent of the VF driver, so
long as it doesn't reset the FW.

Virtual functions depend on physical function for device access (for example
firmware host PAGE management), so make sure to disable SR-IOV once PF is gone.
This will prevent also the below warning if PF has gone before disabling SR-IOV.
"driver left SR-IOV enabled after remove"
Next patch from this series will rely on that when the VF may need to
access safely the PF 'driver data'.

Currently, log_max_qp value is dependent on what FW reports as its max capability.
In reality, due to a bug, some FWs report a value greater than 17, even though they
don't support log_max_qp > 17.
This FW issue led the driver to exhaust memory on startup.
Thus, log_max_qp value is set to be no more than 17 regardless
of what FW reports, as it was before the cited commit.

log_max_qp in driver's default profile #2 was set to 18, but FW actually
supports 17 at the most - a situation that led to the concerning print
when the driver is loaded:
"log_max_qp value in current profile is 18, changing to HCA capabaility
limit (17)"
The expected behavior from mlx5_profile #2 is to match the maximum FW
capability in regards to log_max_qp. Thus, log_max_qp in profile #2 is
initialized to a defined static value (0xff) - which basically means that
when loading this profile, log_max_qp value will be what the currently
installed FW supports at most.

operation from racing with device probe/dismantle.
After recent changes to move devlink_register() to the end of device
probe and devlink_unregister() to the beginning of device dismantle,
these races can no longer happen. Reload operations will be denied if
the devlink instance is unregistered and devlink_unregister() will block
until all in-flight operations are done.
Therefore, remove these devlink_reload_{enable,disable}() APIs.

Currently mlx5_core_dev contains array of capabilities. It contains 19
valid capabilities of the device, 2 reserved entries and 12 holes.
Due to this for 14 unused entries, mlx5_core_dev allocates 14 * 8K = 112K
bytes of memory which is never used. Due to this mlx5_core_dev structure
size is 270Kbytes odd. This allocation further aligns to next power of 2
to 512Kbytes.
By skipping non-existent entries,
(a) 112Kbyte is saved,
(b) mlx5_core_dev reduces to 8KB with alignment
(c) 350KB saved in alignment
In future individual capability allocation can be used to skip its
allocation when such capability is disabled at the device level. This

All kernel devlink implementations call to devlink_alloc() during
initialization routine for specific device which is used later as
a parent device for devlink_register().
Such late device assignment causes to the situation which requires us to
call to device_register() before setting other parameters, but that call
opens devlink to the world and makes accessible for the netlink users.
Any attempt to move devlink_register() to be the last call generates the
following error due to access to the devlink->dev pointer.
[ 8.758862] devlink_nl_param_fill+0x2e8/0xe50
[ 8.760305] devlink_param_notify+0x6d/0x180

Currently when doing hardware lag we check the eswitch mode
but as this isn't done under a lock the check isn't valid.
As the code needs to sync between two different devices an extra
care is needed.
- When going to change eswitch mode, if hardware lag is active destroy it.
- While changing eswitch modes block any hardware bond creation.
- Delay handling bonding events until there are no mode changes in
progress.
- When attaching a new mdev to lag, block until there is no mode change
in progress. In order for the mode change to finish the interface lock
will have to be taken. Release the lock and sleep for 100ms to
allow forward progress. As this is a very rare condition (can happen if
the user unbinds and binds a PCI function while also changing eswitch
mode of the other PCI function) it has no real world impact.
As taking multiple eswitch mode locks is now required lockdep will
complain about a possible deadlock. Register a key per eswitch to make
lockdep happy.

The number of MSI-X vectors is a PCI property visible through lspci. The
field is read-only and configured by the device. The mlx5 devices work in
a static or dynamic assignment mode.
Static assignment means that all newly created VFs have a preset number of
MSI-X vectors determined by device configuration parameters. This can
result in some VFs having too many or too few MSI-X vectors. Till now this
has been the only means of fine-tuning the MSI-X vector count and it was
acceptable for small numbers of VFs.
With dynamic assignment the inefficiency of having a fixed number of MSI-X
vectors can be avoided with each VF having exactly the required
vectors. Userspace will provide this information while provisioning the VF
for use, based on the intended use. For instance if being used with a VM,
the MSI-X vector count might be matched to the CPU count of the VM.
For compatibility mlx5 continues to start up with MSI-X vector assignment,
but the kernel can now access a larger dynamic vector pool and assign more
vectors to created VFs.

This patchset introduces support for mlx5 subfunction (SF).
A subfunction is a lightweight function that has a parent PCI function on
which it is deployed. mlx5 subfunction has its own function capabilities
and its own resources. This means a subfunction has its own dedicated
queues(txq, rxq, cq, eq). These queues are neither shared nor stolen from
the parent PCI function.
When subfunction is RDMA capable, it has its own QP1, GID table and rdma
resources neither shared nor stolen from the parent PCI function.
A subfunction has dedicated window in PCI BAR space that is not shared
with the other subfunctions or parent PCI function. This ensures that all
class devices of the subfunction accesses only assigned PCI BAR space.
A Subfunction supports eswitch representation through which it supports tc
offloads. User must configure eswitch to send/receive packets from/to
subfunction port.
Subfunctions share PCI level resources such as PCI MSI-X IRQs with
their other subfunctions and/or with its parent PCI function.

Subfunction support is discussed in detail in RFC [1] and [2].
RFC [1] and extension [2] describes requirements, design and proposed
plumbing using devlink, auxiliary bus and sysfs for systemd/udev
support. Functionality of this patchset is best explained using real
examples further below.
overview:
--------
A subfunction can be created and deleted by a user using devlink port
add/delete interface.
A subfunction can be configured using devlink port function attribute
before its activated.
When a subfunction is activated, it results in an auxiliary device on
the host PCI device where it is deployed. A driver binds to the
auxiliary device that further creates supported class devices.
example subfunction usage sequence:
-----------------------------------
Change device to switchdev mode:
$ devlink dev eswitch set pci/0000:06:00.0 mode switchdev
Add a devlink port of subfunction flavour:
$ devlink port add pci/0000:06:00.0 flavour pcisf pfnum 0 sfnum 88

mlx5 subfunction support
Parav Pandit says:
Configure mac address of the port function:
$ devlink port function set ens2f0npf0sf88 hw_addr 00:00:00:00:88:88
Now activate the function:
$ devlink port function set ens2f0npf0sf88 state active
Now use the auxiliary device and class devices:
$ devlink dev show
pci/0000:06:00.0
auxiliary/mlx5_core.sf.4
$ ip link show

After use inactivate the function:
$ devlink port function set ens2f0npf0sf88 state inactive
Now delete the subfunction port:
$ devlink port del ens2f0npf0sf88

Support changing the state of the SF port's function through devlink.
When activating the SF port's function, enable the hca in the device
followed by adding its auxiliary device.
When deactivating the SF port's function, delete its auxiliary device
followed by disabling the vHCA.
Port function attributes get/set callbacks are invoked with devlink
instance lock held. Such callbacks need to synchronize with sf port
table getting disabled either via sriov sysfs callback. Such callbacks
synchronize with table disable context holding table refcount.

Introduce API to add and delete an auxiliary device for an SF.
Each SF has its own dedicated window in the PCI BAR 2.
SF device is similar to PCI PF and VF that supports multiple class of
devices such as net, rdma and vdpa.
SF device will be added or removed in subsequent patch during SF
devlink port function state change command.
A subfunction device exposes user supplied subfunction number which will
be further used by systemd/udev to have deterministic name for its
netdevice and rdma device.

mlx5-next auxbus support
This pull request is targeting net-next and rdma-next branches.
This series provides mlx5 support for auxiliary bus devices.
It starts with a merge commit of tag 'auxbus-5.11-rc1' from
gregkh/driver-core into mlx5-next, then the mlx5 patches that will convert
mlx5 ulp devices (netdev, rdma, vdpa) to use the proper auxbus
infrastructure instead of the internal mlx5 device and interface management

Remove exposed driver version as it was done in other drivers,
so module version will work correctly by displaying the kernel

And move mlx5_core module name to general include, so auxiliary drivers

Currently ECPF enables external host PF too early in the initialization
sequence for Ethernet links when ECPF is eswitch manager.
Due to this, when external host PF driver is loaded, host PF's HCA CAP has
inner_ip_version supported by NIC RX flow table.
This capability is later updated by firmware after ECPF driver enables
ENCAP/DECAP as eswitch manager.
This results into a timing race condition, where CREATE_TIR command
fails with a below syndrome on host PF.
mlx5_cmd_check:775:(pid 510): CREATE_TIR(0x900) op_mod(0x0) failed,
status bad parameter(0x3), syndrome (0x562b00)
Hence, enable the external host PF after necessary eswitch and per vport
initialization is completed.
Continue to enable host PF when eswitch manager capability is off for a
ECPF.
