1970105af0 media: em28xx-core: Fix i2c error debug
Read errors are currently reported as write errors.

An incorrectly received read operation is never reported at all.
Add a debug statement indicating the request mismatch.

2df34d3a27 media: em28xx: fix two smatch warnings
Use sizeof instead of ARRAY_SIZE to fix this smatch warning:

drivers/media/usb/em28xx/em28xx-i2c.c:952 em28xx_do_i2c_scan() warn: calling memset(x, y, ARRAY_SIZE());

Do the same for the em28xx_hash_mem() call in the same function.
smatch didn't pick that up, but there too it should use sizeof instead
of ARRAY_SIZE.

3259081991 MAINTAINERS & files: Canonize the e-mails I use at files
From now on, I'll start using my @kernel.org as my development e-mail.

As such, let's remove the entries that point to the old
mchehab@s-opensource.com at MAINTAINERS file.

For the files written with a copyright with mchehab@s-opensource,
let's keep Samsung on their names, using mchehab+samsung@kernel.org,
in order to keep pointing to my employer, with sponsors the work.

For the files written before I join Samsung (on July, 4 2013),
let's just use mchehab@kernel.org.

For bug reports, we can simply point to just kernel.org, as
this will reach my mchehab+samsung inbox anyway.

b1e1d4532e media: em28xx: Ignore errors while reading from eeprom
While testing support for Terratec H6 rev. 2, it was noticed
that reading from eeprom there causes a timeout error.

Apparently, this is due to the need of properly setting GPIOs.

to succeed, as this is currently used only for debug.

So, Ignore such errors.

fdf1bc9fa2 [media] em28xx: checkpatch cleanup: whitespaces/new lines cleanups
This patch is basically produced while testing a tool that
Joe Perches sent upstream sometime ago:
	https://lkml.org/lkml/2014/7/11/794

I used it with those arguments:
	$ reformat_with_checkpatch.sh drivers/media/usb/em28xx/em28xx*.[ch]

It actually produced 24 patches, with is too much, and showed
interesting things: gcc produced different codes on most of the
patches, even with just linespace changes. The total code data
remained the same on all cases I checked though.

Anyway, provided that we fold the resulting patches, this tool
seems useful.

d845fb3ae5 [media] em28xx-i2c: add timeout debug information if i2c_debug enabled
If i2c_debug is enabled, we splicitly want to know when a
device fails with timeout.

If i2c_debug==2, this is already provided, for each I2C transfer
that fails.

However, most of the time, we don't need to go that far. We just
want to know that I2C transfers fail.

So, add such errors for normal (ret == 0x10) I2C aborted timeouts.

e63b009d6e [media] em28xx-i2c: Fix error code for I2C error transfers
Follow the error codes for I2C as described at Documentation/i2c/fault-codes.

In the case of the I2C status register (0x05), this is mapped into:

	- ENXIO - when reg 05 returns 0x10
	- ETIMEDOUT - when the device is not temporarily not responding
		      (e. g. reg 05 returning something not 0x10 or 0x00)
	- EIO - for generic I/O errors that don't fit into the above.

In the specific case of 0-byte reads, used only during I2C device
probing, it keeps returning -ENODEV.

TODO: return EBUSY when reg 05 returns 0x20 on em2874 and upper.

687ff8b0c4 [media] em28xx: fix I2S audio sample rate definitions and info output
The audio configuration in chip config register 0x00 and eeprom are always
consistent. But currently the audio configuration #defines for the chip config
register say 0x20 means 3 sample rates and 0x30 5 sample rates, while the eeprom
info output says 0x20 means 1 sample rate and 0x30 3 sample rates.

I've checked the datasheet excerpts I have and it seems that the meaning of
these bits is different for em2820/40 (1 and 3 sample rates) and em2860+

a3ea4bf98b [media] em28xx: add support for em25xx i2c bus B read/write/check device operations
The webcam "SpeedLink VAD Laplace" (em2765 + ov2640) uses a special algorithm
for i2c communication with the sensor, which is connected to a second i2c bus.
We don't know yet how to find out which devices support/use it.
It's very likely used by all em25xx and em276x+ bridges.
Tests with other em28xx chips (em2820, em2882/em2883) show, that this
algorithm always succeeds there although no slave device is connected.
The algorithm likely also works for real i2c client devices (OV2640 uses SCCB),
because the Windows driver seems to use it for probing Samsung and Kodak
sensors.

7f6301d125 [media] em28xx-i2c: relax error check in em28xx_i2c_recv_bytes()
It turned out that some devices return less bytes then requested via i2c when
ALL of the following 3 conditions are met:
- i2c bus B is used
- there was no attempt to write to the specified slave address before
- no device present at the specified slave address
With the current code, this triggers an -EIO error and prints a message to the

Because it can happen very often during device probing, it is better to ignore
this error and bail out silently after the follwing i2c transaction success
check with -ENODEV.

Having such a big chunk of memory reserved even if the device has no eeprom and

87b52439cf [media] em28xx: add basic support for eeproms with 16 bit address width
Newer devices (em2874, em2884, em28174, em25xx, em27[6,7,8]x) use eeproms with
16 bit instead of 8 bit address width.
The used eeprom type depends on the chip type, which makes sure eeproms can't
be damaged.
This patch adds basic support for 16 bit eeproms only, which includes
- reading the content
- calculating the eeprom hash
- displaying the content
The eeprom content uses a different format, for which support will be added with
subsequent patches.
Tested with the "Hauppauge HVR-930C" and the "Speedlink VAD Laplace webcam"
(with additional experimental patches).

0c28dcc054 [media] em28xx: fix eeprom data endianess
The data is stored as little endian in the eeprom.
Hence the correct data types should be used and the data should be converted
to the machine endianess before using it.
The eeprom id (key) also isn't a 32 bit value but 4 separate bytes instead.

f55eacbe74 [media] em28xx: do not interpret eeprom content if eeprom key is invalid
If the eeprom key isn't valid, either a different (currently unknown) format
is used or the eeprom is corrupted.
In both cases it doesn't make sense to interpret the data.
Also print an error message.

d90f067713 [media] em28xx-i2c: also print debug messages at debug level 1
The current code uses only a single debug level and all debug messages are
printed for i2c_debug >= 2 only. So debug level 1 is actually the same as
level 0, which is odd.
Users expect debugging messages to become enabled for anything else than
debug level 0.
Fix it and simplify the code a bit by printing the debug messages also at debug
level 1;

90271964c9 [media] em28xx: consider the message length limitation of the i2c adapter when reading the eeprom
EEPROMs are currently read in blocks of 16 bytes, but the em2800 is limited
to 4 bytes per read. All other chip variants support reading of max. 64 bytes
at once (according to the em258x datasheet; also verified with em2710, em2882,
and em28174).
Since em2800_i2c_recv_bytes() has been fixed to return with -EOPNOTSUPP when
more than 4 bytes are requested, EEPROM reading with this chip is broken.
It was actually broken before that change, too, it just didn't throw an error
because the i2c adapter silently returned trash data (for all reads >1 byte !).
