After commit b8a1a4cd5a ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new()
call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then
03c835f498 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert
back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from
struct i2c_driver.

Use the new RUNTIME_PM_OPS() and pm_ptr() macros to handle the
.runtime_suspend/.runtime_resume callbacks.
These macros allow the suspend and resume functions to be automatically
dropped by the compiler when CONFIG_PM is disabled, without having
to use #ifdef guards.
This has the advantage of always compiling these functions in,
independently of any Kconfig option. Thanks to that, bugs and other
regressions are subsequently easier to catch.
Note that this driver should probably use the new
DEFINE_RUNTIME_DEV_PM_OPS() macro instead, which will provide
.suspend/.resume callbacks, pointing to pm_runtime_force_suspend() and
pm_runtime_force_resume() respectively; unless those callbacks really
aren't needed.

The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)
So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

Constify a number of static struct resource. The only usage of the
structs are to assign their address to the resources field in the
mfd_cell struct. This allows the compiler to put them in read-only
memory. Done with the help of Coccinelle.

When runtime PM is enabled, regulators are being controlled by the
driver's suspend and resume callbacks. They are also unconditionally
enabled at driver's probe(), and disabled in remove() functions. Add
more calls to runtime PM framework to ensure that the device's runtime
PM state matches the regulators state:
1. at the end of probe() function: set runtime PM state to active, so
there will be no spurious call to resume();
2. in remove(), ensure that resume() is called before disabling runtime PM
management and unconditionally disabling the regulators.

WM8994 chip has built-in regulators, which might be used for chip
operation. They are controlled by a separate wm8994-regulator driver,
which should be loaded before this driver calls regulator_get(), because
that driver also provides consumer-supply mapping for the them. If that
driver is not yet loaded, regulator core substitute them with dummy
regulator, what breaks chip operation, because the built-in regulators are
never enabled. Fix this by annotating this driver with MODULE_SOFTDEP()
"pre" dependency to "wm8994_regulator" module.

Instead of passing a global GPIO number for the enable GPIO, pass
a descriptor looked up from the device tree node or the board file
decriptor table for the regulator.
There is a single board file passing the GPIOs for LDO1 and LDO2
through platform data, so augment this to pass descriptors
associated with the i2c device as well.
The special GPIO enable DT property for the enable GPIO is
nonstandard but this was accomodated in
commit 6a537d4846
"gpio: of: Support regulator nonstandard GPIO properties".

The kernel WARNs and then crashes today if wm8994_device_init() fails
after calling devm_regulator_bulk_get().
That happens because there are multiple devices involved here and the
order in which managed resources are freed isn't correct.
The regulators are added as children of wm8994->dev. Whereas,
devm_regulator_bulk_get() receives wm8994->dev as the device, though it
gets the same regulators which were added as children of wm8994->dev
earlier.
During failures, the children are removed first and the core eventually
calls regulator_unregister() for them. As regulator_put() was never done
for them (opposite of devm_regulator_bulk_get()), the kernel WARNs at
WARN_ON(rdev->open_count);
And eventually it crashes from debugfs_remove_recursive().
Fix the kernel warnings and crashes by using regulator_bulk_get()
instead of devm_regulator_bulk_get() and explicitly freeing the supplies
in exit paths.
Tested on Exynos 5250, dual core ARM A15 machine.

The order in which resources were freed in wm8994_device_exit() isn't
correct. The regulators are removed before they are disabled.
Fix it by reordering code a bit, which makes it exact opposite of
wm8994_device_init() as well.

Separate the functionality using sequences of register writes from the
functions that take register defaults. This change renames the arguments
in order to support the extension of reg_sequence to take an optional
delay to be applied after any given register in a sequence is written.
This avoids adding an int to all register defaults, which could
substantially increase memory usage for regmaps with large default tables.
This also updates all the clients of multi_reg_write/register_patch.

After commit b2b49ccbdd (PM: Kconfig: Set PM_RUNTIME if PM_SLEEP is
selected) PM_RUNTIME is always set if PM is set, so #ifdef blocks
depending on CONFIG_PM_RUNTIME may now be changed to depend on
CONFIG_PM.

Since enabling VMID takes a runtime PM reference there is no need to
suppress suspend when doing a runtime suspend. Similarly the digital
inputs and outputs are DAPM widgets and therefore the ASoC core will
be holding a reference for them.
This used to be required when integration with system suspend was being
bodged.

Add properties for some of the more important bits of platform data and
fill out the binding document.
Not all of the current platform data is suitable for the sort of fixed
configuration that is done using DT, some of it should have runtime
mechanisms added instead and some is unlikely to ever be used in practical
systems.

We can actually read this back from the device but we use this when

For realistic systems the power management is controlled entirely via
runtime PM - if the device is not runtime suspended then the suspend
will abort without doing anything as functionality such as accessory
detection or audio bypass will require the device to be enabled while
if the device is runtime suspended it is already in the lowest power
state. This means that system suspend is redundant and can be removed
which avoids issues with attempting to double disable the regulators.
