There is a block of code in rvin_group_link_notify() that prevents
enabling a link to a VIN node if any entity in the media graph is
in use. This prevents enabling a VIN link even if there is an in-use
entity somewhere in the graph that is independent of the link's
pipeline.
For example, the code block will prevent enabling a link from
the first rcar-csi2 receiver to a VIN node even if there is an
enabled link somewhere far upstream on the second independent
rcar-csi2 receiver pipeline.
If this code block is meant to prevent modifying a link if any entity
in the graph is actively involved in streaming (because modifying
the CHSEL register fields can disrupt any/all running streams), then
the entities stream counts should be checked rather than the use counts.
(There is already such a check in __media_entity_setup_link() that verifies
the stream_count of the link's source and sink entities are both zero,
but that is insufficient, since there should be no running streams in
the entire graph).
Modify the code block to check the entity stream_count instead of the
use_count (and elaborate on the comment). VIN node links can now be
enabled even if there are other independent in-use entities that are
not streaming.

Allow to enable h.264 constrained intra prediction (macroblocks using
intra prediction modes are not allowed to use residual data and decoded
samples of neighboring macroblocks coded using inter prediction modes).
This control directly corresponds to the constrained_intra_pred_flag

The COM3 register at address 0x0c already defaults to 0x10, the two bits
COM3[7:6] are set according to V4L2 controls by sethvflip later.
There is no need to set it multiple times during bridge initialization.

If a driver supports multiple pixel formats with the same frame size,
TRY_FMT will currently always return the first pixel format.

v4l2_compliance gave a warning for the S_PARM test for output streams:
warn: v4l2-test-formats.cpp(1235): S_PARM is supported for buftype 2, but not for ENUM_FRAMEINTERVALS
The reason is that vivid mapped s_parm for output streams to g_parm. But if
S_PARM doesn't actually change anything, then it shouldn't be enabled at all.

The video output sizeimage calculation did not take data_offset into account.
This can cause problems with video loopback or exporting output buffers for
use as dmabuf import buffers since the output buffer size is now too small.

The CSI controller found on the H3 (and H5) is a reduced version of the
one found on the A31. It only has 1 channel, instead of 4 channels for
time-multiplexed BT.656. Since the H3 is a reduced version, it cannot
"fallback" to a compatible that implements more features than it
supports.
Add a compatible string entry for the H3.

This patch removes the dependency on an obsoleted soc_camera from ov9640
driver and changes the code to be a standalone v4l2 async subdevice.
It also adds GPIO allocations for power and reset signals (as they are not
handled by soc_camera now).
The values for waiting on GPIOs (reset and power) settling down were taken
from the datasheet (> 1 ms after HW/SW reset). The upper limit was chosen
as an arbitrary value. Also one occurrence of mdelay() was changed to
msleep(). The delays were successfully tested on a real hardware.
The patch makes ov9640 sensor again compatible with the pxa_camera driver.

Initial part of ov9640 transition from soc_camera subsystem to a standalone
v4l2 subdevice. The soc_camera version seems to be used only in Palm Zire72
and in (the future) HTC Magician. On these two devices the support is
broken as pxa_camera driver doesn't use soc_camera anymore. The other
mentions from git grep are "TODOs" (in board-osk.c) or chip names for
unsupported sensors on HW which doesn't use soc_camera at all (irelevant).
Copy the driver files from soc_camera and mark the original ones in the
Kconfig description as obsoleted.
Add config option VIDEO_OV9640 to the build files in drivers/media/i2c.

The following commits:
commit f6dd927f34 ("[media] media: ov7670: calculate framerate properly for ov7675")
commit 04ee6d9204 ("[media] media: ov7670: add possibility to bypass pll for ov7675")
introduced the ability to bypass PLL multiplier and use input clock (xvclk)
as pixel clock output frequency for ov7675 sensor.
PLL is bypassed using register DBLV[7:6], according to ov7670 and ov7675
sensor manuals. Macros used to set DBLV register seem wrong in the
driver, as their values do not match what reported in the datasheet.
Fix by changing DBLV_* macros to use bits [7:6] and set bits [3:0] to
default 0x0a reserved value (according to datasheets).
While at there, remove a write to DBLV register in
"ov7675_set_framerate()" that over-writes the previous one to the same
register that takes "info->pll_bypass" flag into account instead of setting PLL
multiplier to 4x unconditionally.
And, while at there, since "info->pll_bypass" is only used in
set/get_framerate() functions used by ov7675 only, it is not necessary
to check for the device id at probe time to make sure that when using
ov7670 "info->pll_bypass" is set to false.

The device won't be powered off on systems that have no sensors connected
unless it has a driver bound to it. Allow that to happen even if there are
no sensors connected to cio2.

This commit corrects max and step values for v4l2 control for
V4L2_CID_JPEG_RESTART_INTERVAL. Max should be 0xffff and step should be 1.
It was found by using v4l2-compliance tool and checking result of
VIDIOC_QUERY_EXT_CTRL/QUERYMENU test.
Previously it was complaining that step was bigger than difference
between max and min.

The driver fixed the TXA CSI-2 transmitter in 4-lane mode while it could
operate using 1-, 2- and 4-lanes. Update the driver to support all
available modes.
The driver makes use of large tables of static register/value writes
when powering up/down the TXA and TXB transmitters which include the
write to the NUM_LANES register. By converting the tables into functions
and using parameters the power up/down functions for TXA and TXB power
up/down can be merged and used for both transmitters.

The adv748x CSI-2 transmitters TXA and TXB can use different number of
lanes to transmit data. In order to be able to configure the device
correctly this information need to be parsed from device tree and stored
in each TX private data structure.
TXA supports 1, 2 and 4 lanes while TXB supports 1 lane.

Extend the MIPI CSI-2 power up sequence to match the power up sequence
in the hardware manual chapter "9.5.1 Power Up Sequence". This change
allows the power up functions to be reused when initializing the
hardware reducing code duplicating as well aligning with the
documentation.

The locking implemented in the async notifier callbacks are unnecessary
as the global list_lock in v4l2-async.c is held whenever one of the
callbacks are called.
The locking in itself is not harmful however it produces a LOCKDEP
warning between the global v4l2-async list_lock and the rcar-vin local
locking schema. Remove the rcar-vin locking for the async callbacks to
reduce complexity and silent the false LOCKDEP warning.

Previously when doing format enumeration, it was returning all
formats supported by driver, even if they're not supported by hw.
Add missing check for fmt_ver_flag, so it'll be fixed and only those
supported by hw will be returned. Similar thing is already done
in s5p_jpeg_find_format.
It was found by using v4l2-compliance tool and checking result
of VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT/FRAMESIZES/FRAMEINTERVALS test
and using v4l2-ctl to get list of all supported formats.
Tested on s5pv210-galaxys (Samsung i9000 phone).

Control events can leak kernel memory since they do not fully zero the
event. The same code is present in both v4l2-ctrls.c and uvc_ctrl.c, so
fix both.
It appears that all other event code is properly zeroing the structure,
it's these two places.

The PHTW selection algorithm implemented in rcsi2_phtw_write_mbps() checks for

DMA cocherency slows the transfer down on systems without hardware
coherent DMA.
Instead we use noncocherent DMA memory and explicit sync at data receive
handler.
Based on previous commit the following performance benchmarks have been
carried out. Average memcpy() data transfer rate (rate) and handler
completion time (time) have been measured when running video stream at
640x480 resolution at 10fps.
x86_64 based system (Intel Core i5-3470). This platform has hardware
coherent DMA support and proposed change doesn't make big difference here.
* kmalloc: rate = (2.0 +- 0.4) GBps
time = (5.0 +- 3.0) usec
* usb_alloc_coherent: rate = (3.4 +- 1.2) GBps
time = (3.5 +- 3.0) usec
We see that the measurements agree within error ranges in this case.
So theoretically predicted performance downgrade cannot be reliably
measured here.
armv7l based system (TI AM335x BeagleBone Black @ 300MHz). This platform
has no hardware coherent DMA support. DMA coherence is implemented via
disabled page caching that slows down memcpy() due to memory controller
behaviour.
* kmalloc: rate = ( 94 +- 4) MBps
time = (101 +- 4) usec
* usb_alloc_coherent: rate = (28.1 +- 0.1) MBps
time = (341 +- 2) usec
Note, that quantative difference leads (this commit leads to 3.3 times
acceleration) to qualitative behavior change in this case. As it was
stated before, the video stream cannot be successfully received at AM335x
platforms with MUSB based USB host controller due to performance issues
[1].

There were reports that PWC-based webcams don't work at some
embedded ARM platforms. [1] Isochronous transfer handler seems to
work too long leading to the issues in MUSB USB host subsystem.
Also note, that urb->giveback() handlers are still called with
disabled interrupts. In order to be able to measure performance of
PWC driver, traces are introduced in URB handler section.

cancel_delayed_work_sync() was called for any queue, but it should only
be called for the queue that is associated with the currently running job.
Otherwise, if two filehandles are streaming at the same time, then closing the
first will cancel the work which might still be running for a job from the
second filehandle. As a result the second filehandle will never be able to
finish the job and an attempt to stop streaming on that second filehandle will
stall.

Currently the IOCTL code clears everything after the per-plane
bytesperline field in struct v4l2_format. The intent was to only clear
the per-plane reserved fields since there is data in struct v4l2_format
after the per-plane format data that userspace may have filled in.

A typo in code cleanup commit db9c1007bc ("media: lgdt330x: do
some cleanups at status logic") broke the FE_HAS_LOCK reporting
for 3303 chips by inadvertently modifying the register mask.
The broken lock status is critial as it prevents video capture
cards from reporting signal strength, scanning for channels,
and capturing video.
Fix regression by reverting mask change.

timestamps to refer to reference frames instead of using
buffer indices.

Use v4l2_timeval_to_ns instead of timeval_to_ns to ensure that
both kernelspace and userspace will use the same conversion
function.
Next add a new vb2_find_timestamp() function to find buffers
with a specific timestamp.
This function will only look at DEQUEUED and DONE buffers, i.e.
buffers that are already processed.

Nobody has actually used the type (VERIFY_READ vs VERIFY_WRITE) argument
of the user address range verification function since we got rid of the
old racy i386-only code to walk page tables by hand.
It existed because the original 80386 would not honor the write protect
bit when in kernel mode, so you had to do COW by hand before doing any
user access. But we haven't supported that in a long time, and these
days the 'type' argument is a purely historical artifact.
A discussion about extending 'user_access_begin()' to do the range
checking resulted this patch, because there is no way we're going to
move the old VERIFY_xyz interface to that model. And it's best done at
the end of the merge window when I've done most of my merges, so let's
just get this done once and for all.
This patch was mostly done with a sed-script, with manual fix-ups for
the cases that weren't of the trivial 'access_ok(VERIFY_xyz' form.
There were a couple of notable cases:
- csky still had the old "verify_area()" name as an alias.
- the iter_iov code had magical hardcoded knowledge of the actual
values of VERIFY_{READ,WRITE} (not that they mattered, since nothing
really used it)
- microblaze used the type argument for a debug printout
but other than those oddities this should be a total no-op patch.
I tried to fix up all architectures, did fairly extensive grepping for
access_ok() uses, and the changes are trivial, but I may have missed
something. Any missed conversion should be trivially fixable, though.

totalram_pages and totalhigh_pages are made static inline function.
Main motivation was that managed_page_count_lock handling was complicating
things. It was discussed in length here,

better to remove the lock and convert variables to atomic, with preventing
poteintial store-to-read tearing as a bonus.

It is reported that commit 95f408bbc4 ("media: cx23885: Ryzen DMA
related RiSC engine stall fixes") caused regresssions with other CPUs.
Ensure that the quirk will be applied only for the CPUs that
are known to cause problems.
A module option is added for explicit control of the behaviour.

The V4L2_BUF_TYPE_META_OUTPUT mirrors the V4L2_BUF_TYPE_META_CAPTURE with
the exception that it is an OUTPUT type. The use case for this is to pass
buffers to the device that are not image data but metadata. The formats,
just as the metadata capture formats, are typically device specific and
highly structured.

The Video Engine (VE) embedded in the Aspeed AST2400 and AST2500 SOCs
can capture and compress video data from digital or analog sources. With
the Aspeed chip acting a service processor, the Video Engine can capture
the host processor graphics output.
Add a V4L2 driver to capture video data and compress it to JPEG images.
Make the video frames available through the V4L2 streaming interface.

Currently v4l2_device_register_subdev_nodes() does not initialize the
dev_parent field of the video_device structs it creates for subdevices
being registered. This leads to __video_register_device() falling back
to the parent device of associated v4l2_device struct, which often does
not match the physical device the subdevice is registered for.
Due to the problem above, the links between real devices and v4l-subdev
nodes cannot be obtained from sysfs, which might be confusing for the
userspace trying to identify the hardware.
Fix this by initializing the dev_parent field of the video_device struct
with the value of dev field of the v4l2_subdev struct. In case of
subdevices without a parent struct device, the field will be NULL and the
old behavior will be preserved by the semantics of
__video_register_device().

Add support for the third loop filter mode
V4L2_MPEG_VIDEO_H264_LOOP_FILTER_MODE_DISABLED_AT_SLICE_BOUNDARY,
and fix V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_H264_LOOP_FILTER_ALPHA and
V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_H264_LOOP_FILTER_BETA controls.
The filter offset controls are signed values in the -6 to 6 range and
are stored into the slice header fields slice_alpha_c0_offset_div2 and
slice_beta_offset_div2. The actual filter offsets FilterOffsetA/B are
double their value, in range of -12 to 12.
Rename variables to more closely match the nomenclature in the H.264
specification.

usb_control_msg returns in case of a successfully sent message the number
of sent bytes as a positive number. Don't use this value as a return value
for stk_camera_read_reg, as a non-zero return value is used as an error
condition in some cases when stk_camera_read_reg is called.

The ASUS A6VM notebook has a built in stk11xx webcam which is mounted
in a way that the video is vertically and horizontally flipped.
Therefore this notebook is added to the special handling in the driver
to automatically flip the video into the correct orientation.

The Request API is now merged to the kernel but the confidence on the
stability of that API is not great, especially regarding the interaction
with V4L2.
Add a Kconfig option for the API, with a scary-looking warning.
The patch itself disables request creation as well as does not advertise
them as buffer flags. The driver requiring requests (cedrus) now depends
on the Kconfig option as well.

The MPEG2 state controls for the cedrus stateless MPEG2 driver are
not yet stable. Move them out of the public headers into media/mpeg2-ctrls.h.
Eventually, once this has stabilized, they will be moved back to the
public headers.
Unfortunately I had to cast the control type to a u32 in two switch
statements to prevent a compiler warning about a control type define
not being part of the enum.

The current code uses an algorithm to clamp the FPS values and round them
to the closest supported one that isn't really allows to be extended to
more than two values.
Rework it a bit to make it much easier to extend the amount of FPS options
we support.

The OV5640_SCLK2X_ROOT_DIVIDER_DEFAULT and OV5640_SCLK_ROOT_DIVIDER_DEFAULT
defines represent exactly the same setup, and are at the same value, than
the more consistent with the rest of the driver OV5640_SCLK2X_ROOT_DIV and
OV5640_SCLK_ROOT_DIV.
Remove them.

Part of the hardcoded initialization sequence is to set up the proper clock
dividers. However, this is now done dynamically through proper code and as
such, the static one is now redundant.
Let's remove it.

The clock structure for the PCLK is quite obscure in the documentation, and
was hardcoded through the bytes array of each and every mode.
This is troublesome, since we cannot adjust it at runtime based on other
parameters (such as the number of bytes per pixel), and we can't support
either framerates that have not been used by the various vendors, since we
don't have the needed initialization sequence.
We can however understand how the clock tree works, and then implement some
functions to derive the various parameters from a given rate. And now that
those parameters are calculated at runtime, we can remove them from the
initialization sequence.
The modes also gained a new parameter which is the clock that they are
running at, from the register writes they were doing, so for now the switch
to the new algorithm should be transparent.

The set_fmt operations updates the sensor format only when the image format
is changed. When only the image sizes gets changed, the format do not get
updated causing the sensor to always report the one that was previously in
use.
Without this patch, updating frame size only fails:

The chip can be configured to output data transitions on the
rising or falling edge of PIXCLK (Datasheet R58:1[9]), default is on the
falling edge.
Parsing the fw-node is made in a subfunction to bundle all (future)
dt-parsing / fw-parsing stuff.

This patch implements the framerate selection using the skipping and
readout power-modi features. The power-modi cut the framerate by half
and each context has an independent selection bit. The same applies to
the 2x skipping feature.

Currently set_fmt don't care about the streaming status, so the format
can be changed during streaming. This can lead into wrong behaviours.
Check if the device is already streaming and return -EBUSY to avoid
wrong behaviours.

imx274_read_reg() takes a u8 pointer ("reg") and casts it to pass it
to regmap_read(), which takes an unsigned int pointer. This results in
a corrupted stack and random crashes.

The io.h was still included twice. Having a large number of
includes like that unsorted is likely the reason why we ended
by having 3 includes of io.h and two includes of interrupt.h
at the first place.
So, let's reorder the includes on alphabetic order. That would
make easier to maintain it.

Since 2018 some new revisions of RTL2832P based devices having
Sony CXD2837ER as a slave demodulator instead of Panasonic MN88473.
CXD2837ER handled in DVB_CXD2841ER module but it's has a lack of control.
So slave demod has to be reseted by GPIO0 before detecting to woke up
CXD2837ER.

A new iterator is available for processing UVC URB structures. This
simplifies the processing of the internal stream data.
Convert the manual loop iterators to the new helper, adding an index
helper to keep the existing debug print.

We have both uvc_init_video() and uvc_video_init() calls which can be
quite confusing to determine the process for each. Now that video
uvc_video_enable() has been renamed to uvc_video_start_streaming(),
adapt these calls to suit the new flow.
Rename uvc_init_video() to uvc_video_start_transfer() and
uvc_uninit_video() to uvc_video_stop_transfer().

uvc_video_enable() is used both to start and stop the video stream
object, however the single function entry point shares no code between
the two operations.
Split the function into two distinct calls, and rename to
uvc_video_start_streaming() and uvc_video_stop_streaming() as
appropriate.

Newer high definition cameras, and cameras with multiple lenses such as
the range of stereo-vision cameras now available have ever increasing
data rates.
The inclusion of a variable length packet header in URB packets mean
that we must memcpy the frame data out to our destination 'manually'.
This can result in data rates of up to 2 gigabits per second being
processed.
To improve efficiency, and maximise throughput, handle the URB decode
processing through a work queue to move it from interrupt context, and
allow multiple processors to work on URBs in parallel.

The streaming object is a key part of handling the UVC device. Although
not critical, we are currently missing a call to destroy the mutex on
clean up paths, and we are due to extend the objects complexity in the
near future.
Facilitate easy management of a stream object by creating a pair of
functions to handle creating and destroying the allocation. The new
uvc_stream_delete() function also performs the missing mutex_destroy()
operation.
Previously a failed streaming object allocation would cause
uvc_parse_streaming() to return -EINVAL, which is inappropriate. If the
constructor failes, we will instead return -ENOMEM.
While we're here, fix the trivial spelling error in the function banner
of uvc_delete().

The buffer queue interface currently operates sequentially, processing
buffers after they have fully completed.
In preparation for supporting parallel tasks operating on the buffers,
we will need to support buffers being processed on multiple CPUs.
Adapt the uvc_queue_next_buffer() such that a reference count tracks the
active use of the buffer, returning the buffer to the VB2 stack at
completion.

Both uvc_start_streaming(), and uvc_stop_streaming() are called from
userspace context, with interrupts enabled. As such, they do not need to
save the IRQ state, and can use spin_lock_irq() and spin_unlock_irq()
respectively.

The URB completion operation obtains the current buffer by reading
directly into the queue internal interface.
Protect this queue abstraction by providing a helper
uvc_queue_get_current_buffer() which can be used by both the decode
task, and the uvc_queue_next_buffer() functions.

We currently store three separate arrays for each URB reference we hold.
Objectify the data needed to track URBs into a single uvc_urb structure,
allowing better object management and tracking of the URB.
All accesses to the data pointers through stream, are converted to use a
uvc_urb pointer for consistency.

The state structure contains the resolution expected by the decoder
and encoder. For an encoder that resolution should be taken from the
OUTPUT format, and for a decoder from the CAPTURE format.
If the wrong format is picked, a buffer overrun can occur if there is
a mismatch between the CAPTURE and OUTPUT formats.
The real fix would be to correctly implement the stateful codec
specification, but that will take more time. For now just prevent the
buffer overrun.

If start_streaming() fails and all queued buffers are returned to
vb2, then do not call v4l2_ctrl_request_complete(). Nothing happened
to the request and the state should remain as it was before
start_streaming was called.

When a buffer is returned to state QUEUED (that happens when
start_streaming fails), then do not unbind and put the object
from the request. Nothing has changed yet, so just keep it as
is.

When vb2_buffer_done is called the buffer is unbound from the
request and put. The media_request_object_put also 'put's the
request reference. If the application has already closed the
request fd, then that means that the request reference at that
point goes to 0 and the whole request is released.
This means that the control handler associated with the request is
also freed and that causes this kernel oops:

The vb2_buffer_done function can be called from interrupt context, so
anything that sleeps is not allowed.
The solution is to increment the request refcount when the buffer is
queued and decrement it when the buffer is dequeued. Releasing the
request is fine if that happens from VIDIOC_DQBUF.

VIDIOC_PREPARE_BUF should ignore V4L2_BUF_FLAG_REQUEST_FD since it isn't
doing anything with requests. So inform vb2_queue_or_prepare_buf whether
it is called from vb2_prepare_buf or vb2_qbuf and just return 0 in the
first case.
This was found when adding new v4l2-compliance checks.

vb2_start_streaming() already rolls back the buffers, so there is no
need to call __vb2_queue_cancel(). Especially since __vb2_queue_cancel()
does too much, such as zeroing the q->queued_count value, causing vb2
to think that no buffers have been queued.
It appears that this call to __vb2_queue_cancel() is a left-over from
before commit b3379c6201.

Commit de2bc45c84 ("media: vsp1: Update LIF buffer thresholds")
updated the LIF buffer thresholds based on the VSP version, but used the
wrong model mask. This resulted in all VSP instances to be treated as a
Gen3 VSPD, breaking operation on all Gen2 platforms as well as on
H3 ES2.0, M3-N, V3M and V3H. Fix it.

With the GREY format at the beginning, the default format selected
by vicodec would be GREY instead of YUV420. That didn't make sense,
so move it to the end of the list.

On older Kernels (prior to 4.15) irqreturn_t and devm_request_threaded_irq
is not defined when compiling adv7604.c. It seems more recent Kernels
include it via another header which is included by adv7604.c.
Now we include linux/interrupt.h explicitly to get the type also defined
for Kernels prior to 4.15.

Commit 0185f85017 ("[media] samples: v4l: from Documentation to
samples directory") moved the v4l2-pci-skeleton driver to the samples
directory. The samples are only be built, if CONFIG_SAMPLES is enabled.
Therefore, VIDEO_PCI_SKELETON is not enough to build the
v4l2-pci-skeleton driver, but SAMPLES needs to be enabled, too. Let
VIDEO_PCI_SKELETON depend on SAMPLES.

The v4l_fill_fmtdesc() function does a good job in filling in pixelformat
description. While generally all drivers should depend on this function
doing the job, staging drivers that use their own formats may not.
Allow staging drivers to fill in their own formats by checking whether the
description begins with a non-nil character before issuing the warning.

If vpbe_set_default_output() or vpbe_set_default_mode() fails,
vpbe_initialize() returns error code without releasing resources.
The patch adds error handling for that case.

The encoder driver has no need to do any CPU access to the source frame
buffers. Use a separate structure for holding DMA addresses and sizes
for those and remove, so we do not end up introducing any erroneous
dereferences of those VAs.
This fixes DMA-buf import from exporters that do not provide contiguous
kernel mappings, which includes the MTK DRM driver.

Currently, disconnecting a USB webcam while it is in use prints out a
number of warnings, such as:

This has been noticed before. [0]
This is because of the order in which things are torn down.
If there are no streams active during a USB disconnect:
- uvc_disconnect() is invoked via device_del() through the bus
notifier mechanism.
- this calls uvc_unregister_video().
- uvc_unregister_video() unregisters the video device for each
stream,
- because there are no streams open, it calls uvc_delete()
- uvc_delete() calls uvc_status_cleanup(), which cleans up the status
input device.
- uvc_delete() calls media_device_unregister(), which cleans up the
media device
- uvc_delete(), uvc_unregister_video() and uvc_disconnect() all
return, and we end up back in device_del().
- device_del() then cleans up the sysfs folder for the camera with
dpm_sysfs_remove(). Because uvc_status_cleanup() and
media_device_unregister() have already been called, this all works
nicely.
If, on the other hand, there *are* streams active during a USB disconnect:
- uvc_disconnect() is invoked
- this calls uvc_unregister_video()
- uvc_unregister_video() unregisters the video device for each
stream,
- uvc_unregister_video() and uvc_disconnect() return, and we end up
back in device_del().
- device_del() then cleans up the sysfs folder for the camera with
dpm_sysfs_remove(). Because the status input device and the media
device are children of the USB device, this also deletes their
sysfs folders.
- Sometime later, the final stream is closed, invoking uvc_release().
- uvc_release() calls uvc_delete()
- uvc_delete() calls uvc_status_cleanup(), which cleans up the status
input device. Because the sysfs directory has already been removed,
this causes a WARNing.
- uvc_delete() calls media_device_unregister(), which cleans up the
media device. Because the sysfs directory has already been removed,
this causes another WARNing.
To fix this, we need to make sure the devices are always unregistered
before the end of uvc_disconnect(). To this, move the unregistration
into the disconnect path:
- split uvc_status_cleanup() into two parts, one on disconnect that
unregisters and one on delete that frees.
- move v4l2_device_unregister() and media_device_unregister() into
the disconnect path.

When dvb_attach fails, probe returns 0, and remove crashes afterwards.
This patch sets the return value to -ENODEV when attach fails.
