224a1f9045 gpiolib: wm8994: Use irq_domain mappings for gpios
This has no practical impact at present since we don't support device tree
so any user must have set an irq_base but this will in future allow a
transition to device tree with minimal invasiveness.

bb39b6551e gpio/gpio-tps65910: gpio_chip.of_node referenced without CONFIG_OF_GPIO defined
commit 626f9914 added code to initialize gpio_chip.of_node, but if
CONFIG_OF_GPIO is not defined gps-tps65910 fails to build with an
error complaining gpio_chip has no member of_node. I ran into this
while doing a allyesconfig build on linux-next.

33a4e985ba gpio/mxc: make irqs work for fsl,imx21-gpio devices
The chained handler was set for the platform device with id == 0.
When the gpio devices are instantiated by a device tree, all have id ==
-1 and so the handler was unset resulting in unusable gpio irqs on
i.MX21 and i.MX27 (when using oftree).

Not paying attention to the value being set is a bad thing because it
means that we'll not set the hardware up to reflect what was requested.
Not setting the hardware up to reflect what was requested means that the
caller won't get the results they wanted.

afcc0f8c17 gpio/msm_v1: CONFIG_GPIO_MSM_V1 is only available on three SoCs
The feature GPIO_MSM_V1 is only available on three SoCs. On all other MSM SoCs
the INT_GPIO_GROUP{1,2} is undeclared, but Kconfig does allow such
configurations. Therefore the produced configuration is valid, but does not
compile. The problem is fixed by adding the missing Kconfig constraints.

2e2070c85a gpio-sta2x11: don't use pdata if null
If there is no platform data available, the driver shouldn't use the
pointer or it will oops.  Since things will mostly work nonetheless,
(the BIOS may have set up the pins properly), I'd better not fail the
probe even in this case.

7b86cef34a gpio/omap: fix invalid context restore of gpio bank-0
Currently the gpio _runtime_resume/suspend functions are calling the
get_context_loss_count() platform function if the function is populated for
a gpio bank. This function is used to determine if the gpio bank logic state
needs to be restored due to a power transition. This function will be populated
for all banks, but it should only be called for banks that have the
"loses_context" variable set. It is pointless to call this if loses_context is
false as we know the context will never be lost and will not need restoring.

For all OMAP2+ devices gpio bank-0 is in an always-on power domain and so will
never lose context. We found that the get_context_loss_count() was being called
for bank-0 during the probe and returning 1 instead of 0 indicating that the
context had been lost. This was causing the context restore function to be
called at probe time for this bank and because the context had never been saved,
was restoring an invalid state. This ultimately resulted in a crash [1].

This issue is a regression that was exposed by commit 1b1287032 (gpio/omap: fix
missing check in *_runtime_suspend()).

There are multiple bugs here that need to be addressed ...

1. Why the always-on power domain returns a context loss count of 1? This needs
   to be fixed in the power domain code [2]. However, the gpio driver should not
   assume the loss count is 0 to begin with.
2. The omap gpio driver should never be calling get_context_loss_count for a
   gpio bank in a always-on domain. This is pointless and adds unneccessary
   overhead.
3. The OMAP gpio driver assumes that the initial power domain context loss count
   will be 0 at the time the gpio driver is probed. However, it could be
   possible that this is not the case and an invalid context restore could be
   performed during the probe. To avoid this only populate the
   get_context_loss_count() function pointer after the initial call to
   pm_runtime_get() has occurred. This will ensure that the first
   pm_runtime_put() initialised the loss count correctly.

This patch addresses issues 2 and 3 above.

1ab7ef158d gpio/mxc: move irq_domain_add_legacy call into gpio driver
Move irq_domain_add_legacy call from imx*-dt.c into gpio driver and
have the gpio driver adopt irqdomain support for both DT and non-DT
boot.

With all imx platform code converted from static gpio irq number
computation to use run-time gpio_to_irq call, we can now use
irq_alloc_descs and irqdomain support to dynamically get irq_base
and have the mapping between gpio and irq number available without
using virtual_irq_start and MXC_GPIO_IRQ_START.

9e303f228c gpio/omap: fix irq loss while in idle with debounce on
It seems that currently GPIO module is not working correctly during idle
when debounce is enabled - the system almost never responds to button
presses (observed on OMAP3530 ES2.1 and OMAP3630 ES1.2 pandora boards).
Even though wakeups are probably working, it seems that the GPIO module
itself is unable to detect input events and generate interrupts.
OMAP35x TRM also states that:
  "If the debounce clock is inactive, the debounce cell gates all
   input signals and thus cannot be used."

So whenever we are disabling debounce clocks (for PM or other reasons),
be sure the module's debounce feature is disabled too.

Fix up trivial conflicts in drivers/gpio/gpio-samsung.c that look much
worse than they are: the exonys5 init code was refactored in commit
fd454997d6 ("gpio: samsung: refactor gpiolib init for exynos4/5"), and
then commit f10590c983 ("ARM: EXYNOS: add GPC4 bank instance") added a
new gpio chip define and did tiny updates to the init code.

So the conflict diff looks like hell, but it's actually a fairly simple

54f3006617 GPIO: MIPS: lantiq: convert gpio-stp-xway to OF
Implements OF support and add code to load custom properties from the DT.

The Serial To Parallel (STP) is found on MIPS based Lantiq socs. It is a
peripheral controller used to drive external shift register cascades. At most
3 groups of 8 bits can be driven. The hardware is able to allow the DSL modem
to drive the 2 LSBs of the cascade automatically. Newer socs are also able to
automatically drive some pins via the internal PHYs. The driver currently only
supports output functionality. Patches for the input feature found on newer
generations of the soc will be provided in a later series.

By attaching hardware latches to the External Bus Unit (EBU) on Lantiq SoC, it
is possible to create output only gpios. This driver configures a special
memory address, which when written to, outputs 16 bit to the latches.

cd99758ba3 mfd: Convert wm831x to irq_domain
The modern idiom is to use irq_domain to allocate interrupts. This is
useful partly to allow further infrastructure to be based on the domains
and partly because it makes it much easier to allocate virtual interrupts
to devices as we don't need to allocate a contiguous range of interrupt
numbers.

Convert the wm831x driver over to this infrastructure, using a legacy
IRQ mapping if an irq_base is specified in platform data and otherwise
using a linear mapping, always registering the interrupts even if they
won't ever be used. Only boards which need to use the GPIOs as
interrupts should need to use an irq_base.

This means that we can't use the MFD irq_base management since the
unless we're using an explicit irq_base from platform data we can't rely
on a linear mapping of interrupts.  Instead we need to map things via
the irq_domain - provide a conveniencem function wm831x_irq() to save a
small amount of typing when doing so. Looking at this I couldn't clearly
see anything the MFD core could do to make this nicer.

Since we're not supporting device tree yet there's no meaningful
advantage if we don't do this conversion in one, the fact that the
interrupt resources are used for repeated IP blocks makes accessor
functions for the irq_domain more trouble to do than they're worth.

3e11f7b840 gpio/generic: initialize basic_mmio_gpio shadow variables properly
It fixes the issue in gpio-generic that commit fb14921 (gpio/mxc: add
missing initialization of basic_mmio_gpio shadow variables) manged to
fix in gpio-mxc driver, so that other platform specific drivers do not
suffer from the same problem over and over again.

* Turn the last parameter of bgpio_init() "bool big_endian" into
  "unsigned long flags" and give those really quirky hardwares a
  chance to tell that reg_set and reg_dir are unreadable.

3d0f7cf0f3 gpio: Adjust of_xlate API to support multiple GPIO chips
This patch changes the of_xlate API to make it possible for multiple
gpio_chips to refer to the same device tree node.  This is useful for
banked GPIO controllers that use multiple gpio_chips for a single
device.  With this change the core code will try calling of_xlate on
each gpio_chip that references the device_node and will return the
gpio number for the first one to return 'true'.

09d71ff194 gpiolib: Implement devm_gpio_request_one()
Allow drivers to use the modern request and configure idiom together
with devres.

As with plain gpio_request() and gpio_request_one() we can't implement
the old school version in terms of _one() as this would force the
explicit selection of a direction in gpio_request() which could break
systems if we pick the wrong one.  Implementing devm_gpio_request_one()
in terms of devm_gpio_request() would needlessly complicate things or
lead to duplication from the unmanaged version depending on how it's
done.

22770de11c gpio/omap: fix broken context restore for non-OFF mode transitions
The fix in commit 1b1287032 (gpio/omap: fix missing check in
*_runtime_suspend()) exposed another bug in the context restore path.

Currently, the per-bank context restore happens whenever the context
loss count is different in runtime suspend and runtime resume *and*
whenever the per-bank contex_loss_count == 0:

					!context_lost_cnt_after) {
		omap_gpio_restore_context(bank);

Restoring context when the context_lost_cnt_after == 0 is clearly
wrong, since this will be true until the first off-mode transition
(which could be never, if off-mode is never enabled.)  This check
causes the context to be restored on *every* runtime PM transition.

Before commit 1b1287032 (gpio/omap: fix missing check in
*_runtime_suspend()), this code was never executed in non-OFF mode, so
there were never spurious context restores happening.  After that
change though, spurious context restores could happen.

To fix, simply remove the !context_lost_cnt_after check. It is not
needed.

This bug was found when noticing that the smc911x NIC on 3530/Overo
was not working, and git bisect tracked it down to this patch.  It
seems that the spurious context restore was causing the smsc911x to
not be properly probed on this platform.

a07e103ef0 gpio: Emma Mobile GPIO driver V2
This patch is V2 of the Emma Mobile GPIO driver. This
driver is designed to be reusable between multiple SoCs
that share the same basic building block, but so far it
has only been used on Emma Mobile EV2.

Each driver instance handles 32 GPIOs with individually
maskable IRQs. The driver operates on two I/O memory
ranges and the 32 GPIOs are hooked up to two interrupts.

In the case of Emma Mobile EV2 this GPIO building block
is used as main external interrupt controller hooking up
159 GPIOS as 159 interrupts via 5 driver instances and
10 interrupts to the GIC and the Cortex-A9 Dual.

It removes the use of cpu_is_xxx from gpio-mxs driver and instead use
platform_device_id to identify the device.  Accordingly, mxs platform
code is changed to register gpio device with different names, and

 Configuring a gpio pin with the gpio-pch driver with
 "IRQF_TRIGGER_LOW | IRQF_ONESHOT" generates an interrupt storm for
 threaded ISR until the ISR thread actually gets to physically clear
 the interrupt on the triggering chip!! The immediate observable
 symptom is the high CPU usage for my ISR thread task and the
 interrupt count in /proc/interrupts incrementing radically.

The driver is wrong in several ways:

1) Using handle_simple_irq() does not provide proper flow control
   handling. In the case of oneshot threaded handlers for the
   demultiplexed interrupts this results in an interrupt storm because
   the simple handler does not deal with masking/unmasking.  Even
   without threaded oneshot handlers an interrupt storm for level type
   interrupts can easily be triggered when the interrupt is disabled
   and the interrupt line is activated from the device.

2) Acknowlegding the demultiplexed interrupt before calling the
   handler is wrong for level type interrupts.

3) The set_type function unconditionally enables the interrupt. It's
   supposed to set the type and nothing else. The unmasking is done by
   the core code.

Move the acknowledge code into a separate function and add it to the
demux irqchip callbacks.

Remove the unconditional enabling from the set_type() callback and set
the proper flow handlers depending on the selected type (level/edge).

Both omap_gpio_suspend() and omap_gpio_resume() does programming
of wakeup_en register.

_gpio_rmw(base, bank->regs->wkup_en, bank->context.wake_en, 1);

This is redundant in omap_gpio_suspend() because wakeup_en
register automatically gets initialized in _set_gpio_wakeup()
and set_gpio_trigger() while being called either from
chip.irq_set_wake() or chip.irq_set_type().

This is also redundant in omap_gpio_resume() because wakeup_en
register is programmed in omap_gpio_restore_context() called
which is called from runtime resume callback.

7563bbf89d gpiolib/arches: Centralise bolierplate asm/gpio.h
Rather than requiring architectures that use gpiolib but don't have any
need to define anything custom to copy an asm/gpio.h provide a Kconfig
symbol which architectures must select in order to include gpio.h and
for other architectures just provide the trivial implementation directly.

This makes it much easier to do gpiolib updates and is also a step towards
making gpiolib APIs available on every architecture.

For architectures with existing boilerplate code leave a stub header in
place which warns on direct inclusion of asm/gpio.h and includes
linux/gpio.h to catch code that's doing this.  Direct inclusion of
asm/gpio.h has long been deprecated.

6edd94db25 gpio/omap: fix incorrect initialization of omap_gpio_mod_init
Initialization of irqenable, irqstatus registers is the common
operation done in this function for all OMAP platforms, viz. OMAP1,
OMAP2+. The latter _gpio_rmw()'s which supposedly got introduced
wrongly to take care of OMAP2+ platforms were overwriting initially
programmed OMAP1 value breaking functionality on OMAP1.
Somehow incorrect assumption was made that each _gpio_rmw()'s were
mutually exclusive. On close observation it is found that the first
_gpio_rmw() which is supposedly done to take care of OMAP1 platform
is generic enough and takes care of OMAP2+ platform as well.
Therefore remove the latter _gpio_rmw() to irqenable as they are
redundant now.

Writing to ctrl and debounce_en registers for OMAP2+ platforms are
modified to match the original(pre-cleanup) code where the registers
are initialized with 0. In the cleanup series since we are using
_gpio_rmw(reg, 0, 1), instead of __raw_writel(), we are just reading
and writing the same values to ctrl and debounce_en. This is not an
issue for debounce_en register because it has 0x0 as the default value.
But in the case of ctrl register the default value is 0x2 (GATINGRATIO
 = 0x1) so that we end up writing 0x2 instead of intended 0 value.
Therefore changing back to __raw_writel() as this is sufficient for
this case besides simpler to understand.

Also, change irqstatus initalization logic that avoids comparison
with bool, besides making it fit in a single line.

This driver works on many Intel chipsets, including the ICH6, ICH7,
ICH8, ICH9, ICH10, 3100, Series 5/3400 (Ibex Peak), Series 6/C200

In 3.3, gpio wakeup setting was broken. The call
enable_irq_wake() didn't set up the PXA gpio registers
(PWER, ...) anymore.

Fix it at least for pxa27x. The driver doesn't seem to be
used in pxa25x (weird ...), and the fix doesn't extend to
pxa3xx and pxa95x (which don't have a gpio_set_wake()
available).

d941136fc6 gpio: tegra: configure pins during irq_set_type
When a Tegra GPIO is used as an IRQ, it should be enabled as a GPIO (so
the pinmux module isn't driving it as an output) and configured as a GPIO
input (so the GPIO module isn't driving it as an output). Set this up
automatically whenever an IRQ is requested, so that users of IRQs don't
need to do this.

f5f93117f4 gpio/langwell: clear IRQ edge detect registers at init
The boot firmware might leave the registers configured causing interrupts
to happen even when no handler for them is yet registered. Fix this by

Since x86 is using SPARSE_IRQ by default nowadays it means that we need to
allocate IRQ descriptors dynamically using irq_alloc_descs() otherwise the

These are all specific to some driver. They are typically the platform
 side of a change in the drivers directory, such as adding a new driver
 or extending the interface to the platform. In cases where there is no
 maintainer for the driver, or the maintainer prefers to have the
 platform changes in the same branch as the driver changes, the patches
 to the drivers are included as well.
 
 A much smaller set of driver updates that depend on other branches
 getting merged first will be sent later.
 
 The new export of tegra_chip_uid conflicts with other changes in fuse.c.
 In rtc-sa1100.c, the global removal of IRQF_DISABLED conflicts with
 the cleanup of the interrupt handling of that driver.

8194c7c4d5 gpio/sodaville: Mark broken due to core irqdomain migration
The sodaville driver doesn't build anymore due to the transition to
common irq_domain in the core code.  It needs to be reworked, but
the rework isn't trivial.  Since this is a new driver anyway for
v3.4, mark it as broken now and a fixup patch can re-enable it when
the rework change has been tested.

f01b1f90bf mfd: Make twl4030 SIH SPARSE_IRQ capable
twl4030 is using a two level irq controllers infrastruture.
So far, only the first level was using dynamic irq_desc allocation
to be able to have irq_domain support for device tree.
There is a need to allocate separate irq_descs for the SIH too to
avoid hacking the first level with interrupts from the second level.

Add an irq_base parameter to allow the caller to provide the base from
pdata or from dynamic allocation.

Affect TWL4030_NR_IRQS to the twl-core IRQs only.

Moreover that will allow the extraction of the of_node pointer for further
Device Tree conversion.

   - The "EEH" code (pSeries PCI error handling & recovery) got a big
     spring cleaning, motivated by the need to be able to implement a
     new backend for it on top of some new different type of firwmare.

     The work isn't complete yet, but a good chunk of the cleanups is
     there.  Note that this adds a field to struct device_node which is
     not very nice and which Grant objects to.  I will have a patch soon
     that moves that to a powerpc private data structure (hopefully
     before rc1) and we'll improve things further later on (hopefully
     getting rid of the need for that pointer completely).  Thanks Gavin
     Shan.

   - I dug into our exception & interrupt handling code to improve the
     way we do lazy interrupt handling (and make it work properly with
     "edge" triggered interrupt sources), and while at it found & fixed
     a wagon of issues in those areas, including adding support for page
     fault retry & fatal signals on page faults.

   - Your usual random batch of small fixes & updates, including a bunch
     of new embedded boards, both Freescale and APM based ones, etc..."

In gpio_get(), _get_gpio_datain() and _get_gpio_dataout() get rid of
un-necessary operation to compute gpio mask. The gpio offset passed
to gpio_get() is sufficient to do that.

bit 0..7, GPIO8..15 would be chip 1 bit 8..15, GPIO16..23 would be
chip 1 bit 0..7.

However, if you registered a GPIO chip with 16 lines first, it would
mean GPIO0..15 would be chip 0 bit 0..15, and GPIO16..31 would be
chip 1 bit 0..15.

Surely this kind of behaviour is not intended?

Is there a reason why the bitmask can't just be (1 << offset) where
offset is passed into these functions as GPIO number - chip->base ?

In _enable_gpio_irqbank() when bank->regs->set_irqenable is TRUE,
gpio_mask can be directly set by writing to set_irqenable register
without overwriting current value. In order to ensure the same is
stored in context.irqenable1, we must avoid overwriting it with
gpio_mask at the end of the function. Instead, update irqenable1
appropriately by OR'ing with gpio_mask.
For the case where bank->regs->set_irqenable is FALSE, irqenable1
can be directly overwritten with 'l' which holds correct computed

81b279d80a gpio/davinci: fix enabling unbanked GPIO IRQs
Unbanked GPIO IRQ handling code made a copy of just
the irq_chip structure for GPIO IRQ lines which caused
problems after the generic IRQ chip conversion because
there was no valid irq_chip_type structure with the
right "regs" populated. irq_gc_mask_set_bit() was
therefore accessing random addresses.

Fix it by making a copy of irq_chip_type structure
instead. This will ensure sane register offsets.

7535b8bef0 gpio/gpio-stmpe: Fix the value returned by _get_value routine
The present _get_value routine returns the contents of the GPIO Monitor Pin
Status Register(GPMR) starting from the bit whose value is requested to BIT 0
(irrelevant bits are replace by 0).

For e.g. if we request the value of GPIO 6 in the earlier implementation the
value returned is:

	BIT6 followed by 6 0's

whereas it should just return BIT6.

This patch addresses the same.

46158aad96 GPIO: LPC32xx: Add output reading to GPO P3
The chip offers the function to detect the current state of output of the GPO
P3 pins. Useful for reading GPIO output state in Linux' GPIO API, e.g. via
sysfs.

Please note that this only reads back the currently programmed output state,
not the actual electrical level in terms of a GPI function. Finally, GPO3 is
still just an output.

68942edb09 gpio/omap: fix wakeups on level-triggered GPIOs
While both level- and edge-triggered GPIOs are capable of generating
interrupts, only edge-triggered GPIOs are capable of generating a
module-level wakeup to the PRCM (c.f. 34xx NDA TRM section 25.5.3.2.)

In order to ensure that devices using level-triggered GPIOs as
interrupts can also cause wakeups (e.g. from idle), this patch enables
edge-triggering for wakeup-enabled, level-triggered GPIOs when a GPIO
bank is runtime-suspended (which also happens during idle.)

This fixes a problem found in GPMC-connected network cards with GPIO
interrupts (e.g. smsc911x on Zoom3, Overo, ...) where network booting
with NFSroot was very slow since the GPIO IRQs used by the NIC were
not generating PRCM wakeups, and thus not waking the system from idle.
NOTE: until v3.3, this boot-time problem was somewhat masked because
the UART init prevented WFI during boot until the full serial driver
was available.  Preventing WFI allowed regular GPIO interrupts to fire
and this problem was not seen.  After the UART runtime PM cleanups, we
no longer avoid WFI during boot, so GPIO IRQs that were not causing
wakeups resulted in very slow IRQ response times.

Tested on platforms using level-triggered GPIOs for network IRQs using
the SMSC911x NIC: 3530/Overo and 3630/Zoom3.

e4e449e828 gpiolib: Add comments explaining the _cansleep() WARN_ON()s
I've seen users getting very confused by the WARN_ON()s for can_sleep
GPIOs in the atomic-safe paths, the discoverability of the non-atomic
version of the API seems to be hampered by the fact that it's defined
in a header file not the .c file where the warnings are.

Add a couple of comments next to the warnings to help people on their
way.
