a263456f0e iio: accel: sca3000: Fix alignment for DMA safety
____cacheline_aligned is insufficient guarantee for non-coherent DMA.
Switch to the updated IIO_DMA_MINALIGN definition.

The second alignment marking is left in place to avoid doing more than
the simple fix in this patch.

f67c6c73cb iio: core: Simplify the registration of kfifo buffers
Among all the users of the kfifo buffers, no one uses the
INDIO_BUFFER_HARDWARE mode. So let's take this as a general rule and
simplify a little bit the internals - overall the documentation - by
eliminating unused specific cases. Use the INDIO_BUFFER_SOFTWARE mode by
default with kfifo buffers, which will basically mimic what all the "non
direct" modes do.

a0386bba70
spi: make remove callback a void function
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)

So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

e03ed893e2 iio: accel: sca3000: use devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup() helper
This change makes use of the devm_iio_kfifo_buffer_setup() helper, however
the unwind order is changed.
The life-time of the kfifo object is attached to the parent device object.
This is to make the driver a bit more consistent with the other IIO
drivers, even though (as it is now before this change) it shouldn't be a
problem.

d3be83244c iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignment
This patch applies the semantic patch:
@@

   I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP);

-  I->dev.parent = P;

It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions.
This semantic patch also removes some comments like
'/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */'

But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty.

The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a
different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it
points to the same reference.
In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered
by the semantic patch.

However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the
drivers that should remove the parent assignment.

aabcbfe8db iio: sca3000: Potential endian bug in sca3000_read_event_value()
The problem is that "ret" is an int but we're casting it as
"(unsigned long *)&ret" when we do the for_each_set_bit() loop.  This
will not work on big endian 64 bit systems.

c5b974bee9 iio: sca3000: Fix missing return in switch
The IIO_CHAN_INFO_LOW_PASS_FILTER_3DB_FREQUENCY case is missing a
return and will fall through to the default case and errorenously
return -EINVAL.

Fix this by adding in missing *return ret*.

4a5b45383c iio: sca3000: Fix an error handling path in 'sca3000_probe()'
Use 'devm_iio_kfifo_allocate()' instead of 'iio_kfifo_allocate()' in order
to simplify code and avoid a memory leak in an error path in
'sca3000_probe()'. A call to 'sca3000_unconfigure_ring()' was missing.

Sent via the next merge window as unimportant bug and there are
other patches dependent on it.

6c5bffa80e iio:accel: drop assign iio_info.driver_module and iio_trigger_ops.owner
The equivalent of both of these are now done via macro magic when
the relevant register calls are made.  The actual structure
elements will shortly go away.
