d3d11fe08c tg3: Fix temperature reporting
The temperature registers appear to report values in degrees Celsius
while the hwmon API mandates values to be exposed in millidegrees
Celsius. Do the conversion so that the values reported by "sensors"
are correct.

dfc8f37031 net/tg3: Release IRQs on permanent error
When having permanent EEH error, the PCI device will be removed
from the system. For this case, we shouldn't set pcierr_recovery
to true wrongly, which blocks the driver to release the allocated
interrupts and their handlers. Eventually, we can't disable MSI
or MSIx successfully because of the MSI or MSIx interrupts still
have associated interrupt actions, which is turned into following
stack dump.

Using napi_complete_done() instead of napi_complete() allows

db84bf43ef tg3: tg3_reset_task() needs to use rtnl_lock to synchronize
Currently tg3_reset_task() uses only tp->lock for synchronizing with code
paths like tg3_open() etc. But since tp->lock is released before doing
synchronize_irq(), rtnl_lock should be taken in tg3_reset_task() to
synchronize it with other code paths.

05b0aa5793 tg3: tg3_disable_ints using uninitialized mailbox value to disable interrupts
During driver load in tg3_init_one, if the driver detects DMA activity before
intializing the chip tg3_halt is called. As part of tg3_halt interrupts are
disabled using routine tg3_disable_ints. This routine was using mailbox value
which was not initialized (default value is 0). As a result driver was writing
0x00000001 to pci config space register 0, which is the vendor id / device id.

This driver bug was exposed because of the commit a7877b17a667 (PCI: Check only
the Vendor ID to identify Configuration Request Retry). Also this issue is only
seen in older generation chipsets like 5722 because config space write to offset
0 from driver is possible. The newer generation chips ignore writes to offset 0.
Also without commit a7877b17a667, for these older chips when a GRC reset is
issued the Bootcode would reprogram the vendor id/device id, which is the reason
this bug was masked earlier.

Fixed by initializing the interrupt mailbox registers before calling tg3_halt.

Please queue for -stable.

892311f66f ethtool: Support for configurable RSS hash function
This patch extends the set/get_rxfh ethtool-options for getting or
setting the RSS hash function.

It modifies drivers implementation of set/get_rxfh accordingly.

This change also delegates the responsibility of checking whether a
modification to a certain RX flow hash parameter is supported to the
driver implementation of set_rxfh.

User-kernel API is done through the new hfunc bitmask field in the
ethtool_rxfh struct. A bit set in the hfunc field is corresponding to an
index in the new string-set ETH_SS_RSS_HASH_FUNCS.

Got approval from most of the relevant driver maintainers that their
driver is using Toeplitz, and for the few that didn't answered, also
assumed it is Toeplitz.

0486a063b1 tg3: prevent ifup/ifdown during PCI error recovery
The patch fixes race conditions between PCI error recovery callbacks and

First, if ifup (tg3_open) is called between tg3_io_error_detected() and
tg3_io_resume() then tp->timer is armed twice before expiry. Once during
tg3_open() and again during tg3_io_resume(). This results in BUG
at kernel/time/timer.c:945.

Second, if ifdown (tg3_close) is called between tg3_io_error_detected()
and tg3_io_resume() then tg3_napi_disable() is called twice without
a tg3_napi_enable between. Once during tg3_io_error_detected() and again
during tg3_close(). The tg3_io_resume() then hangs on rtnl_lock().

7b31b4deda tg3: fix return value in tg3_get_stats64
When tp->hw_stats is 0, tg3_get_stats64 should display previously
recorded stats. So it returns &tp->net_stats_prev. But the caller,
dev_get_stats, ignores the return value.

Fix this by assigning tp->net_stats_prev to stats and returning stats.

9baa3c34ac PCI: Remove DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE macro use
We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to
meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch.

A simplified version of the semantic patch that makes this change is as
follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/):

// <smpl>

@@
identifier i;
declarer name DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE;
initializer z;
@@

- DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE(i)
+ const struct pci_device_id i[]
= z;

4d8fdc95c6 tg3: Modify tg3_tso_bug() to handle multiple TX rings
tg3_tso_bug() was originally designed to handle only HW TX ring 0, Commit
d3f6f3a1d8 ("tg3: Prevent page allocation failure

HW TX rings that are enabled. This patch fixes the regression by modifying
tg3_tso_bug() to handle multiple HW TX rings.

66c965f5e1 tg3: Change nvram command timeout value to 50ms
Commit 506724c463 "tg3: Override clock,
link aware and link idle mode during NVRAM dump" changed the timeout
value for nvram command execution from 100ms to 1ms. But the 1ms
timeout value was only sufficient for nvram read operations but not
write operations for most of the devices supported by tg3 driver.
This patch sets the MAX to 50ms. Also it uses usleep_range instead
of udelay.

40c1deaf6c tg3: Clear NETIF_F_TSO6 flag before doing software GSO
Commit d3f6f3a1d8 ("tg3: Prevent page
allocation failure during TSO workaround") modified driver logic
to use tg3_tso_bug() for any TSO fragment that hits hardware bug
conditions thus the patch increased the scope of work for tg3_tso_bug()
to cover devices that support NETIF_F_TSO6 as well. Prior to the
patch, tg3_tso_bug() would only be used on devices supporting
NETIF_F_TSO.

A regression was introduced for IPv6 packets requiring the workaround.
To properly perform GSO on SKBs with TCPV6 gso_type, we need to call
skb_gso_segment() with NETIF_F_TSO6 feature flag cleared, or the
function will return NULL and cause a kernel oops as tg3 is not handling
a NULL return value. This patch fixes the problem.

014b20133b Merge branch 'ethtool-rssh-fixes' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/bwh/net-next
Ben Hutchings says:

====================
Pull request: Fixes for new ethtool RSS commands

This addresses several problems I previously identified with the new
ETHTOOL_{G,S}RSSH commands:

1. Missing validation of reserved parameters
2. Vague documentation
3. Use of unnamed magic number
4. No consolidation with existing driver operations

I don't currently have access to suitable network hardware, but have
tested these changes with a dummy driver that can support various
combinations of operations and sizes, together with (a) Debian's ethtool
3.13 (b) ethtool 3.14 with the submitted patch to use ETHTOOL_{G,S}RSSH
and minor adjustment for fixes 1 and 3.

v2: Update RSS operations in vmxnet3 too

506724c463 tg3: Override clock, link aware and link idle mode during NVRAM dump
When cable is not present the clock speed of some of the devices is
reduced based upon power saving mode setting in NVRAM. Due to this
NVRAM reads take long time to complete as a result CPU soft lockup
message is seen. Fix is to override clock, disable link aware and link
idle modes before NVRAM reads and restore them back after the reads
are complete. During this period also check if the thread needs to be
rescheduled and if there are any signals to handle.

Also decrease the NVRAM command execution timeout value to 1ms.

d3f6f3a1d8 tg3: Prevent page allocation failure during TSO workaround
If any TSO fragment hits hardware bug conditions (e.g. 4G boundary), the
driver will workaround by calling skb_copy() to copy to a linear SKB. Users
have reported page allocation failures as the TSO packet can be up to 64K.
Copying such a large packet is also very inefficient. We fix this by using
existing tg3_tso_bug() to transmit the packet using GSO.

d71c0dc4e9 tg3: Don't modify ip header fields when doing GSO
tg3 uses GSO as workaround if the hardware cannot perform TSO on certain
packets. We should not modify the ip header fields if we do GSO on the
packet. It happens to work by accident because GSO recalculates the IP
checksum and IP total length.

Also fix the tg3_start_xmit comment to reflect that this is the only
xmit function for all devices.

ba67b51003 tg3: update rx_jumbo_pending ring param only when jumbo frames are enabled
The patch fixes a problem with dropped jumbo frames after usage of
'ethtool -G ... rx'.

Scenario:
1. ip link set eth0 up
2. ethtool -G eth0 rx N # <- This zeroes rx-jumbo
3. ip link set mtu 9000 dev eth0

The ethtool command set rx_jumbo_pending to zero so any received jumbo
packets are dropped and you need to use 'ethtool -G eth0 rx-jumbo N'
to workaround the issue.
The patch changes the logic so rx_jumbo_pending value is changed only if
jumbo frames are enabled (MTU > 1500).

c6993dfd7d tg3: Fix deadlock in tg3_change_mtu()
Quoting David Vrabel -
"5780 cards cannot have jumbo frames and TSO enabled together. When
jumbo frames are enabled by setting the MTU, the TSO feature must be
cleared. This is done indirectly by calling netdev_update_features()
which will call tg3_fix_features() to actually clear the flags.

netdev_update_features() will also trigger a new netlink message for the
feature change event which will result in a call to tg3_get_stats64()
which deadlocks on the tg3 lock."

tg3_set_mtu() does not need to be under the tg3 lock since converting
the flags to use set_bit(). Move it out to after tg3_netif_stop().
