Use the new DEFINE_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() instead of SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS()
for the example code. This allows us to drop CONFIG_PM_SLEEP ifdefs.
While we're at it, expand the driver definition instead of passing
directly via .driver.pm field. This seems to be a more common
pattern.

The auto-silencer supports two modes: "thresholded" to fill up "just
enough", and "top-up" to fill up "as much as possible". The two modes
used rather distinct code paths, which this patch unifies. The only
remaining distinction is how much we actually want to fill.
This fixes a bug in thresholded mode, where we failed to use new_hw_ptr,
resulting in under-fill.
Top-up mode is now more well-behaved and much easier to understand in
corner cases.
This also updates comments in the proximity of silencing-related data
structures.

Fix two mistakes in the PCM interface section:
1/ Members of the snd_pcm_hardware structure are channels_{min,max}
and not channel_{min,max} (mind the 's').
2/ Another sentence is incomplete as the reference to one structure

The doc currently mentions that the IEC958 Playback Default should be
exposed on the PCM iface, and the Playback Mask on the mixer iface.
It's a bit confusing to advise to have two related controls on two
separate ifaces, and it looks like the drivers that currently expose
those controls use any combination of the mixer and PCM ifaces.
Let's try to clarify the situation a bit, and encourage to at least have
the controls on the same iface.

During the process of converting the documentation to reST, some links
were converted using the following wrong syntax (and sometimes using %20
instead of spaces):
`Display text <#section-name-in-html>`__
This syntax isn't valid according to the docutils' spec [1], but more
importantly, it is specific to HTML, since it uses '#' to link to an
HTML anchor.
The right syntax would instead use a docutils hyperlink reference as the
embedded URI to point to the section [2], that is:
`Display text <Section Name_>`__
This syntax works in both HTML and PDF.
The LaTeX toolchain doesn't mind the HTML anchor syntax when generating
the pdf documentation (make pdfdocs), that is, the build succeeds but
the links don't work, but that syntax causes errors when trying to build
using the not-yet-merged rst2pdf:
ValueError: format not resolved, probably missing URL scheme or undefined destination target for 'Forcing%20Quiescent%20States'
So, use the correct syntax in order to have it work in all different
output formats.

under Documentation/driver-api/sound.rst and under
Documentation/sound/kernel-api/alsa-driver-api.rst.
The alsa-driver-api.rst seems more complete, and APIs
are split per type. There's just one missing kernel-doc
markup there.

Currently we pass the artificial device pointer to the allocation
helper in the case of SNDRV_DMA_TYPE_CONTINUOUS for passing the GFP
flags. But all common cases are the allocations with GFP_KERNEL, and
it's messy to put this in each place.
In this patch, the memalloc core helper is changed to accept the NULL
device pointer and it treats as the default mode, GFP_KERNEL, so that
all callers can omit the complex argument but just leave NULL.

We used to pass NULL to memory allocators for ISA devices due to
historical reasons. But we prefer rather a proper device object to be
assigned, so let's fix it by replacing snd_dma_isa_data() call with
card->dev reference, and kill snd_dma_isa_data() definition.

This required a few manual fixups and reformats, but the most of
contents are kept as is.

A simple conversion of alsa-driver-api document from DocBook to ReST.
It's moved to the new Documentation/sound/kernel-api subdirectory that
will contain other ALSA kernel API documents.
The GPL legal note was removed, as it's superfluous (and doesn't fit
with ReST kernel docs pretty well).
