5300ebb695 gpio: exar: use devm action for freeing the IDA and drop remove()
We can simplify the error path in probe() and drop remove() entirely if
we provide a devm action for freeing the device ID.

36fb7218e8 gpio: exar: switch to using regmap
We can simplify the code in gpio-exar by using regmap. This allows us to
drop the mutex (regmap provides its own locking) and we can also reuse
regmap's bit operations instead of implementing our own update function.

0c2c7e1323 gpio: exar: use a helper variable for &pdev->dev
It's more elegant to use a helper local variable to store the address
of the underlying struct device than to dereference pdev everywhere. It
also has the benefit of avoiding unnecessary line breaks.

8e27c2aef8 gpio: exar: switch to a simpler IDA interface
We don't need to specify any ranges when allocating IDs so we can switch
to ida_alloc() and ida_free() instead of the ida_simple_ counterparts.

ida_simple_get(ida, 0, 0, gfp) is equivalent to
ida_alloc_range(ida, 0, UINT_MAX, gfp) which is equivalent to
ida_alloc(ida, gfp). Note: IDR will never actually allocate an ID
larger than INT_MAX.

333830aa14 gpio: exar: Fix bad handling for ida_simple_get error path
The commit 7ecced0934 ("gpio: exar: add a check for the return value
of ida_simple_get fails") added a goto jump to the common error
handler for ida_simple_get() error, but this is wrong in two ways:
it doesn't set the proper return code and, more badly, it invokes
ida_simple_remove() with a negative index that shall lead to a kernel
panic via BUG_ON().

This patch addresses those two issues.

e42615ec23 gpio: Use new GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION
It's hard for occasional GPIO code reader/writer to know if values 0/1
equal to IN or OUT. Use defined GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_IN and
GPIO_LINE_DIRECTION_OUT to help them out.

NOTE - for gpio-amd-fch and gpio-bd9571mwv:
This commit also changes the return value for direction get to equal 1
for direction INPUT. Prior this commit these drivers might have
returned some other positive value but 1 for INPUT.

a589e211bd gpio: exar: Use correct property prefix and document bindings
The device-specific property should be prefixed with the vendor name,
not "linux,", as Linus Walleij pointed out. Change this and document the
bindings of this platform device.

We didn't ship the old binding in a release yet. So we can still change
it without breaking an official API.

380b1e2f3a gpio-exar/8250-exar: Make set of exported GPIOs configurable
On the SIMATIC, IOT2040 only a single pin is exportable as GPIO, the
rest is required to operate the UART. To allow modeling this case,
expand the platform device data structure to specify a (consecutive) pin
subset for exporting by the gpio-exar driver.

d3936d7437 gpio-exar/8250-exar: Fix passing in of parent PCI device
This fixes reloading of the GPIO driver for the same platform device
instance as created by the exar UART driver: First of all, the driver
sets drvdata to its own value during probing and does not restore the
original value on exit. But this won't help anyway as the core clears
drvdata after the driver left.

Set the platform device parent instead.
