Fabiano Rosas 0df01238b8 KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: tracing: Add missing hcall names
The kvm_trace_symbol_hcall macro is missing several of the hypercalls
defined in hvcall.h.

Add the most common ones that are issued during guest lifetime,
including the ones that are only used by QEMU and SLOF.

Pratik R. Sampat 3c14b73454 powerpc/pseries: Interface to represent PAPR firmware attributes
Adds a syscall interface to represent the energy and frequency related
PAPR attributes on the system using the new H_CALL
"H_GET_ENERGY_SCALE_INFO".

H_GET_EM_PARMS H_CALL was previously responsible for exporting this
information in the lparcfg, however the H_GET_EM_PARMS H_CALL
will be deprecated P10 onwards.

The H_GET_ENERGY_SCALE_INFO H_CALL is of the following call format:

As specified in PAPR+ v2.11, section 14.14.3.

This H_CALL can query either all the attributes at once with
firstAttributeId = 0, flags = 0 as well as query only one attribute
at a time with firstAttributeId = id, flags = 1.

The output buffer consists of the following
1. number of attributes              - 8 bytes
2. array offset to the data location - 8 bytes
3. version info                      - 1 byte
4. A data array of size num attributes, which contains the following:
  a. attribute ID              - 8 bytes
  b. attribute value in number - 8 bytes
  c. attribute name in string  - 64 bytes
  d. attribute value in string - 64 bytes

The new H_CALL exports information in direct string value format, hence
a new interface has been introduced in
/sys/firmware/papr/energy_scale_info to export this information to
userspace so that the firmware can add new values without the need for
the kernel to be changed.

The H_CALL returns the name, numeric value and string value (if exists)

The format of exposing the sysfs information is as follows:

The energy information that is exported is useful for userspace tools
such as powerpc-utils. Currently these tools infer the
"power_mode_data" value in the lparcfg, which in turn is obtained from
the to be deprecated H_GET_EM_PARMS H_CALL.

On future platforms, such userspace utilities will have to look at the
data returned from the new H_CALL being populated in this new sysfs
interface and report this information directly without the need of
interpretation.

Leonardo Bras 0f10228c6f KVM: PPC: Fix typo on H_DISABLE_AND_GET hcall
On PAPR+ the hcall() on 0x1B0 is called H_DISABLE_AND_GET, but got
defined as H_DISABLE_AND_GETC instead.

This define was introduced with a typo in commit <b13a96cfb055>
("[PATCH] powerpc: Extends HCALL interface for InfiniBand usage"), and was
later used without having the typo noticed.

Tianjia Zhang 8c99d34578 KVM: PPC: Clean up redundant 'kvm_run' parameters
In the current kvm version, 'kvm_run' has been included in the 'kvm_vcpu'
structure. For historical reasons, many kvm-related function parameters
retain the 'kvm_run' and 'kvm_vcpu' parameters at the same time. This
patch does a unified cleanup of these remaining redundant parameters.

Scott Wood 28c5bcf74f KVM: PPC: Move and undef TRACE_INCLUDE_PATH/FILE
TRACE_INCLUDE_PATH and TRACE_INCLUDE_FILE are used by
<trace/define_trace.h>, so like that #include, they should
be outside #ifdef protection.

They also need to be #undefed before defining, in case multiple trace
headers are included by the same C file.  This became the case on
book3e after commit cf4a608515 ("powerpc/mm: Add missing tracepoint for
tlbie"), leading to the following build error:

Greg Kroah-Hartman b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier.  The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne.  Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed.  Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
   considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

   For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
   license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
   licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
   resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
   which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
   confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
   the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights.  The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
   files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
   was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction.  This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg.  Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected.  This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.)  Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

Suraj Jitindar Singh 0cda69dd7c KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Implement halt polling
This patch introduces new halt polling functionality into the kvm_hv kernel
module. When a vcore is idle it will poll for some period of time before
scheduling itself out.

When all of the runnable vcpus on a vcore have ceded (and thus the vcore is
idle) we schedule ourselves out to allow something else to run. In the
event that we need to wake up very quickly (for example an interrupt
arrives), we are required to wait until we get scheduled again.

Implement halt polling so that when a vcore is idle, and before scheduling
ourselves, we poll for vcpus in the runnable_threads list which have
pending exceptions or which leave the ceded state. If we poll successfully
then we can get back into the guest very quickly without ever scheduling
ourselves, otherwise we schedule ourselves out as before.

There exists generic halt_polling code in virt/kvm_main.c, however on
powerpc the polling conditions are different to the generic case. It would
be nice if we could just implement an arch specific kvm_check_block()
function, but there is still other arch specific things which need to be
done for kvm_hv (for example manipulating vcore states) which means that a
separate implementation is the best option.

Testing of this patch with a TCP round robin test between two guests with
virtio network interfaces has found a decrease in round trip time of ~15us
on average. A performance gain is only seen when going out of and
back into the guest often and quickly, otherwise there is no net benefit
from the polling. The polling interval is adjusted such that when we are
often scheduled out for long periods of time it is reduced, and when we
often poll successfully it is increased. The rate at which the polling
interval increases or decreases, and the maximum polling interval, can
be set through module parameters.

Based on the implementation in the generic kvm module by Wanpeng Li and
Paolo Bonzini, and on direction from Paul Mackerras.

Suresh E. Warrier 3c78f78af9 KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Tracepoints for KVM HV guest interactions
This patch adds trace points in the guest entry and exit code and also
for exceptions handled by the host in kernel mode - hypercalls and page
faults. The new events are added to /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events
under a new subsystem called kvm_hv.
