Do not include asm/irq_vectors.h in generic code - it's not available
on all architectures.

9332fccded irq: initialize nr_irqs based on nr_cpu_ids
Impact: Reduce memory usage.

This is the second half of the changes to make the irq_desc_ptrs be
variable sized based on nr_cpu_ids. This is done by adding a new
"max_nr_irqs" macro to irq_vectors.h (and a dummy in irqnr.h) to
return a max NR_IRQS value based on NR_CPUS or nr_cpu_ids.

This necessitated moving the define of MAX_IO_APICS to a separate
file (asm/apicnum.h) so it could be included without the baggage
of the other asm/apicdef.h declarations.

802bf931f2 cpumask: fix bug in use cpumask_var_t in irq_desc
Impact: fix bug where new irq_desc uses old cpumask pointers which are freed.

As Yinghai pointed out, init_copy_one_irq_desc() copies the old desc to
the new desc overwriting the cpumask pointers. Since the old_desc and
the cpumask pointers are freed, then memory corruption will occur if
these old pointers are used.

Move the allocation of these pointers to after the copy.

This actually uses topology_core_cpumask() and
topology_thread_cpumask(), removing the only users of
topology_core_siblings() and topology_thread_siblings()

7f7ace0cda cpumask: update irq_desc to use cpumask_var_t
Impact: reduce memory usage, use new cpumask API.

Replace the affinity and pending_masks with cpumask_var_t's. This adds
to the significant size reduction done with the SPARSE_IRQS changes.

The added functions (init_alloc_desc_masks & init_copy_desc_masks) are
in the include file so they can be inlined (and optimized out for the
!CONFIG_CPUMASKS_OFFSTACK case.) [Naming chosen to be consistent with
the other init*irq functions, as well as the backwards arg declaration
of "from, to" instead of the more common "to, from" standard.]

Includes a slight change to the declaration of struct irq_desc to embed
the pending_mask within ifdef(CONFIG_SMP) to be consistent with other
references, and some small changes to Xen.

Tested: sparse/non-sparse/cpumask_offstack/non-cpumask_offstack/nonuma/nosmp on x86_64

886ad09fc8 libata: Add a per-host flag to opt-in into parallel port probes
This patch adds a per host flag that allows drivers to opt in into
having its busses scanned in parallel.

Drivers that do not set this flag get their ports scanned in
the "original" sequence.

f4b477c473 rbtree: add const qualifier to some functions
The 'rb_first()', 'rb_last()', 'rb_next()' and 'rb_prev()' calls
take a pointer to an RB node or RB root. They do not change the
pointed objects, so add a 'const' qualifier in order to make life
of the users of these functions easier.

Indeed, if I have my own constant pointer &const struct my_type *p,
and I call 'rb_next(&p->rb)', I get a GCC warning:

warning: passing argument 1 of ‘rb_next’ discards qualifiers from pointer target type

c4be0c1dc4 filesystem freeze: add error handling of write_super_lockfs/unlockfs
Currently, ext3 in mainline Linux doesn't have the freeze feature which
suspends write requests. So, we cannot take a backup which keeps the
filesystem's consistency with the storage device's features (snapshot and
replication) while it is mounted.

In many case, a commercial filesystem (e.g. VxFS) has the freeze feature
and it would be used to get the consistent backup.

If Linux's standard filesystem ext3 has the freeze feature, we can do it
without a commercial filesystem.

So I have implemented the ioctls of the freeze feature.
I think we can take the consistent backup with the following steps.
1. Freeze the filesystem with the freeze ioctl.
2. Separate the replication volume or create the snapshot
   with the storage device's feature.
3. Unfreeze the filesystem with the unfreeze ioctl.
4. Take the backup from the separated replication volume
   or the snapshot.

This patch:

VFS:
Changed the type of write_super_lockfs and unlockfs from "void"
to "int" so that they can return an error.
Rename write_super_lockfs and unlockfs of the super block operation
freeze_fs and unfreeze_fs to avoid a confusion.

ext3, ext4, xfs, gfs2, jfs:
Changed the type of write_super_lockfs and unlockfs from "void"
to "int" so that write_super_lockfs returns an error if needed,
and unlockfs always returns 0.

reiserfs:
Changed the type of write_super_lockfs and unlockfs from "void"
to "int" so that they always return 0 (success) to keep a current behavior.

237889bf0a ACPI : Use RSDT instead of XSDT by adding boot option of "acpi=rsdt"
On some boxes there exist both RSDT and XSDT table. But unfortunately
sometimes there exists the following error when XSDT table is used:
   a. 32/64X address mismatch
   b. The 32/64X FACS address mismatch

In such case the boot option of "acpi=rsdt" is provided so that
RSDT is tried instead of XSDT table when the system can't work well.

4044ba58dd md: don't retry recovery of raid1 that fails due to error on source drive.
If a raid1 has only one working drive and it has a sector which
gives an error on read, then an attempt to recover onto a spare will
fail, but as the single remaining drive is not removed from the
array, the recovery will be immediately re-attempted, resulting
in an infinite recovery loop.

So detect this situation and don't retry recovery once an error
on the lone remaining drive is detected.

Allow recovery to be retried once every time a spare is added
in case the problem wasn't actually a media error.

efeb53c0e5 md: Allow md devices to be created by name.
Using sequential numbers to identify md devices is somewhat artificial.
Using names can be a lot more user-friendly.

Also, creating md devices by opening the device special file is a bit
awkward.

So this patch provides a new option for creating and naming devices.

Writing a name such as "md_home" to
    /sys/modules/md_mod/parameters/new_array
will cause an array with that name to be created. It will appear in
/sys/block/ /proc/partitions and /proc/mdstat as 'md_home'.
It will have an arbitrary minor number allocated.

md devices that a created by an open are destroyed on the last
close when the device is inactive.
For named md devices, they will not be destroyed until the array
is explicitly stopped, either with the STOP_ARRAY ioctl or by
writing 'clear' to /sys/block/md_XXXX/md/array_state.

The name of the array must start 'md_' to avoid conflict with
other devices.
