Artem Savkov e6b72ee88a netfilter: ebtables: fix race condition in frame_filter_net_init()
It is possible for ebt_in_hook to be triggered before ebt_table is assigned
resulting in a NULL-pointer dereference. Make sure hooks are
registered as the last step.

Florian Westphal aee12a0a37 ebtables: remove nf_hook_register usage
Similar to ip_register_table, pass nf_hook_ops to ebt_register_table().
This allows to handle hook registration also via pernet_ops and allows
us to avoid use of legacy register_hook api.

Pablo Neira Ayuso 01886bd91f netfilter: remove hook_entries field from nf_hook_state
This field is only useful for nf_queue, so store it in the
nf_queue_entry structure instead, away from the core path. Pass
hook_head to nf_hook_slow().

Since we always have a valid entry on the first iteration in
nf_iterate(), we can use 'do { ... } while (entry)' loop instead.

Pablo Neira Ayuso 1610a73c41 netfilter: kill NF_HOOK_THRESH() and state->tresh
Patch c5136b15ea ("netfilter: bridge: add and use br_nf_hook_thresh")
introduced br_nf_hook_thresh().

Replace NF_HOOK_THRESH() by br_nf_hook_thresh from
br_nf_forward_finish(), so we have no more callers for this macro.

As a result, state->thresh and explicit thresh parameter in the hook
state structure is not required anymore. And we can get rid of
skip-hook-under-thresh loop in nf_iterate() in the core path that is
only used by br_netfilter to search for the filter hook.

Eric W. Biederman 97b59c3a91 netfilter: ebtables: Simplify the arguments to ebt_do_table
Nearly everything thing of interest to ebt_do_table is already present
in nf_hook_state. Simplify ebt_do_table by just passing in the skb,
nf_hook_state, and the table. This make the code easier to read and
maintenance easier.

To support this create an nf_hook_state on the stack in ebt_broute
(the only caller without a nf_hook_state already available). This new
nf_hook_state adds no new computations to ebt_broute, but does use a
few more bytes of stack.

Stephen Hemminger a9b3cd7f32 rcu: convert uses of rcu_assign_pointer(x, NULL) to RCU_INIT_POINTER
When assigning a NULL value to an RCU protected pointer, no barrier
is needed. The rcu_assign_pointer, used to handle that but will soon
change to not handle the special case.

Convert all rcu_assign_pointer of NULL value.

Eric Dumazet a386f99025 bridge: add proper RCU annotation to should_route_hook

get a clean RCU implementation for function pointer.

Alexey Dobriyan 6beceee5aa netfilter: netns ebtables: part 2
* return ebt_table from ebt_register_table(), module code will save it into
  per-netns data for unregistration
* duplicate ebt_table at the very beginning of registration -- it's added into
  list, so one ebt_table wouldn't end up in many lists (and each netns has
  different one)
* introduce underscored tables in individial modules, this is temporary to not
  break bisection.

Pavel Emelyanov 82de382ce8 [BRIDGE]: Properly dereference the br_should_route_hook
This hook is protected with the RCU, so simple

	if (br_should_route_hook)
		br_should_route_hook(...)

is not enough on some architectures.

Use the rcu_dereference/rcu_assign_pointer in this case.

Fixed Stephen's comment concerning using the typeof().

Andrew Morton 65b4b4e81a [NETFILTER]: Rename init functions.
Every netfilter module uses `init' for its module_init() function and
`fini' or `cleanup' for its module_exit() function.

Problem is, this creates uninformative initcall_debug output and makes
ctags rather useless.

So go through and rename them all to $(filename)_init and
$(filename)_fini.

Linus Torvalds 1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
