a28e824fb8 nvmem: core: Add functions to make number reading easy
Sometimes the clients of nvmem just want to get a number out of
nvmem. They don't want to think about exactly how many bytes the nvmem
cell took up. They just want the number. Let's make it easy.

In general this concept is useful because nvmem space is precious and
usually the fewest bits are allocated that will hold a given value on
a given system. However, even though small numbers might be fine on
one system that doesn't mean that logically the number couldn't be
bigger. Imagine nvmem containing a max frequency for a component. On
one system perhaps that fits in 16 bits. On another system it might
fit in 32 bits. The code reading this number doesn't care--it just
wants the number.

We'll provide two functions: nvmem_cell_read_variable_le_u32() and
nvmem_cell_read_variable_le_u64().

Comparing these to the existing functions like nvmem_cell_read_u32():
* These new functions have no problems if the value was stored in
  nvmem in fewer bytes. It's OK to use these function as long as the
  value stored will fit in 32-bits (or 64-bits).
* These functions avoid problems that the earlier APIs had with bit
  offsets. For instance, you can't use nvmem_cell_read_u32() to read a
  value has nbits=32 and bit_offset=4 because the nvmem cell must be
  at least 5 bytes big to hold this value. The new API accounts for
  this and works fine.
* These functions make it very explicit that they assume that the
  number was stored in little endian format. The old functions made
  this assumption whenever bit_offset was non-zero (see
  nvmem_shift_read_buffer_in_place()) but didn't whenever the
  bit_offset was zero.

NOTE: it's assumed that we don't need an 8-bit or 16-bit version of
this function. The 32-bit version of the function can be used to read
8-bit or 16-bit data.

At the moment, I'm only adding the "unsigned" versions of these
functions, but if it ends up being useful someone could add a "signed"
version that did 2's complement sign extension.

At the moment, I'm only adding the "little endian" versions of these
functions. Adding the "big endian" version would require adding "big
endian" support to nvmem_shift_read_buffer_in_place().

9ec4f4b0e9 drivers: nvmem: Fix voltage settings for QTI qfprom-efuse
QFPROM controller hardware requires 1.8V min for fuse blowing.
So, this change sets the voltage to 1.8V, required to blow the fuse
for qfprom-efuse controller.

To disable fuse blowing, we set the voltage to 0V since this may
be a shared rail and may be able to run at a lower rate when we're
not blowing fuses.

0445efacec nvmem: core: skip child nodes not matching binding
The nvmem cell binding applies to all eeprom child nodes matching
"^.*@[0-9a-f]+$" without taking a compatible into account.

Linux drivers, like at24, are even more extensive and assume
_all_ at24 eeprom child nodes to be nvmem cells since e888d445ac
("nvmem: resolve cells from DT at registration time").

Since df5f3b6f53 ("dt-bindings: nvmem: stm32: new property for
data access"), the additionalProperties: True means it's Ok to have
other properties as long as they don't match "^.*@[0-9a-f]+$".

The barebox bootloader extends the MTD partitions binding to
EEPROM and can fix up following device tree node:

  &eeprom {
    partitions {
      compatible = "fixed-partitions";
    };
  };

This is allowed binding-wise, but drivers using nvmem_register()
like at24 will fail to parse because the function expects all child
nodes to have a reg property present. This results in the whole
EEPROM driver probe failing despite the device tree being correct.

Fix this by skipping nodes lacking a reg property instead of
returning an error. This effectively makes the drivers adhere
to the binding because all nodes with a unit address must have
a reg property and vice versa.

5a3fa75a4d nvmem: Add driver to expose reserved memory as nvmem
Firmware/co-processors might use reserved memory areas in order to pass
data stemming from an nvmem device otherwise non accessible to Linux.
For example an EEPROM memory only physically accessible to firmware, or
data only accessible early at boot time.

In order to expose this data to other drivers and user-space, the driver
models the reserved memory area as an nvmem device.

3311bf1846 nvmem: imx-ocotp: add support for the unaliged word count
When offset is not 4 bytes aligned, directly shift righty by 2 bits
will cause reading out wrong data. Since imx ocotp only supports
4 bytes reading once, we need handle offset is not 4 bytes aligned
and enlarge the bytes to 4 bytes aligned. After reading finished,
copy the needed data from buffer to caller and free buffer.

Some fuse ranges are protected by the XPU such that the AP cannot
access them. Attempting to do so causes an SError. Use the newly
introduced per-soc compatible string, and the newly introduced
nvmem keepout support to attach the set of regions
we should not access.

fd3bb8f54a nvmem: core: Add support for keepout regions
Introduce support into the nvmem core for arrays of register ranges
that should not result in actual device access. For these regions a
constant byte (repeated) is returned instead on read, and writes are
quietly ignored and returned as successful.

This is useful for instance if certain efuse regions are protected
from access by Linux because they contain secret info to another part
of the system (like an integrated modem).

fc9eec4d64 nvmem: core: fix possibly memleak when use nvmem_cell_info_to_nvmem_cell()
Fix missing 'kfree_const(cell->name)' when call to
nvmem_cell_info_to_nvmem_cell() in several places:

     * after nvmem_cell_info_to_nvmem_cell() failed during
       nvmem_add_cells()

     * during nvmem_device_cell_{read,write} when cell->name is
       kstrdup'ed() without calling kfree_const() at the end, but
       really there is no reason to do that 'dup, because the cell
       instance is allocated on the stack for some short period to be
       read/write without exposing it to the caller.

So the new nvmem_cell_info_to_nvmem_cell_nodup() helper is introduced
which is used to convert cell_info -> cell without name duplication as
a lighweight version of nvmem_cell_info_to_nvmem_cell().

1eb51d6a4f nvmem: switch to simpler IDA interface
We don't need to specify any ranges when allocating IDs so we can switch
to ida_alloc() and ida_free() instead of the ida_simple_ counterparts.

ida_simple_get(ida, 0, 0, gfp) is equivalent to
ida_alloc_range(ida, 0, UINT_MAX, gfp) which is equivalent to
ida_alloc(ida, gfp). Note: IDR will never actually allocate an ID
larger than INT_MAX.

8f042191d4 nvmem: qcom-spmi-sdam: Enable multiple devices
Using pdev->id as the nvmem's config ID (which, by default, is
NVMEM_DEVID_NONE) prevents multiple instances of this driver from
probing because of the following error:

  sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/bus/nvmem/devices/spmi_sdam'

Use NVMEM_DEVID_AUTO as the NVMEM config ID to fix the issue.

731aa3fae8 nvmem: core: add support to auto devid
For nvmem providers which have multiple instances, it is required
to suffix the provider name with proper id, so that they do not
confict for the same name. Currently the core does not handle
this case properly eventhough core already has logic to generate the id.

This patch add new devid type NVMEM_DEVID_AUTO for providers to be
able to allow core to assign id and append it to provier name.

8356671574 nvmem: Enforce nvmem stride in the sysfs interface
The 'struct nvmem_config' has a stride attribute that specifies the
needed alignment for accesses into the nvmem.  This is used in
nvmem_cell_info_to_nvmem_cell() but not in the sysfs read/write
functions.  If the alignment is important in one place it's important
everywhere, so let's add enforcement.

For now we'll consider it totally invalid to access with the wrong
alignment.  We could relax this in the read case where we could just
read some extra bytes and throw them away.  Relaxing it in the write
case seems harder (and less safe?) since we'd have to read some data
first and then write it back.  To keep it symmetric we'll just
disallow it in both cases.

8d9eb0d6d5 nvmem: qfprom: remove incorrect write support
qfprom has different address spaces for read and write. Reads are
always done from corrected address space, where as writes are done
on raw address space.
Writing to corrected address space is invalid and ignored, so it
does not make sense to have this support in the driver which only
supports corrected address space regions at the moment.

b96fc5416b nvmem: ensure sysfs writes handle write-protect pin
Commit 2a127da461 ("nvmem: add support for the write-protect pin")
added support for handling write-protect pins to the nvmem core, and
Commit 1c89074bf8 ("eeprom: at24: remove the write-protect pin support")
retrofitted the at24 driver to use this support.

These changes broke write() on the nvmem sysfs attribute for eeproms
which utilize a write-protect pin, as the write callback invokes the
nvmem device's reg_write callback directly which no longer handles
changing the state of the write-protect pin.

Change the read and write callbacks for the sysfs attribute to invoke
nvmme_reg_read/nvmem_reg_write helpers which handle this, rather than
calling reg_read/reg_write directly.

5af25388ba nvmem: sprd: Optimize the block lock operation
We have some cases that will programme the eFuse block partially multiple
times, so we should allow the block to be programmed again if it was
programmed partially. But we should lock the block if the whole block
was programmed. Thus add a condition to validate if we need lock the
block or not.

Moreover we only enable the auto-check function when locking the block.

ba2bb5f789 nvmem: jz4780-efuse: fix build warnings on ARCH=x86_64 or riscv
kbuild-robot did find a type error in the min(a, b)
function used by this driver if built for x86_64 or riscv.

Althought it is very unlikely that this driver is built
for those platforms it could be used as a template
for something else and therefore should be correct.

The problem is that we implicitly cast a size_t to
unsigned int inside the implementation of the min() function.

Since size_t may differ on different compilers and
plaforms there may be warnings or not.

So let's use only size_t variables on all platforms.

QTI SDAM driver allows PMIC peripherals to access the shared memory
that is available on QTI PMICs.

Use subsys_initcall as PMIC SDAM NV memory is accessed by multiple PMIC

required during their initialization.

i.MX8 fuse word row index represented as one 4-bytes word.
Exp:
- MAC0 address layout in fuse:
offset 708: MAC[3] MAC[2] MAC[1] MAC[0]
offset 709: XX     xx     MAC[5] MAC[4]

The original code takes row index * 4 as the offset, this
not exactly match i.MX8 fuse map documentation.

So update code the reflect the truth.

2a127da461 nvmem: add support for the write-protect pin
The write-protect pin handling looks like a standard property that
could benefit other users if available in the core nvmem framework.

Instead of modifying all the memory drivers to check this pin, make
the NVMEM subsystem check if the write-protect GPIO being passed
through the nvmem_config or defined in the device tree and pull it
low whenever writing to the memory.

There was a suggestion for introducing the gpiodesc from pdata, but
as pdata is already removed it could be replaced by adding it to
nvmem_config.

only use Arm Trusted Firmware SIP call to let ATF program fuse.

8cde3c2153 firmware: meson_sm: Rework driver as a proper platform driver
The secure monitor driver is currently a frankenstein driver which is
registered as a platform driver but its functionality goes through a
global struct accessed by the consumer drivers using exported helper
functions.

Try to tidy up the driver moving the firmware struct into the driver
data and make the consumer drivers referencing the secure-monitor using
a new property in the DT.

Currently only the nvmem driver is using this API so we can fix it in
the same commit.

cb6b0a393c nvmem: meson-mx-efuse: allow reading data smaller than word_size
Some Amlogic boards store the Ethernet MAC address inside the eFuse. The
Ethernet MAC address uses 6 bytes. The existing logic in
meson_mx_efuse_read() would write beyond the end of the data buffer when
trying to read data with a size that is not aligned to word_size (4
bytes on Meson8, Meson8b and Meson8m2).

Calculate the remaining data to copy inside meson_mx_efuse_read() so
reading 6 bytes doesn't write beyond the end of the data buffer.

5a1c17240b nvmem: imx-ocotp: imx8mq is compatible with imx6 not imx7
According to NXP Reference Manuals and uboot/atf sources the OCOTP block
on imx8m behaves more like imx6 than imx7.

- Fuses can be read/written 32bits at a time (no imx7-like banking)
- The OCOTP_HW_OCOTP_TIMING register is like imx6 not imx7

Since nvmem doesn't support uboot-style "sense" and "override" this
issue only affected "write" which is very rarely used.

159dbaf57b nvmem: imx-ocotp: Change TIMING calculation to u-boot algorithm
The RELAX field of the OCOTP block is turning out as a zero on i.MX8MM.
This messes up the subsequent re-load of the fuse shadow registers.

After some discussion with people @ NXP its clear we have missed a trick
here in Linux.

The OCOTP fuse programming time has a physical minimum 'burn time' that is
not related to the ipg_clk.

We need to define the RELAX, STROBE_READ and STROBE_PROG fields in terms of
desired timings to allow for the burn-in to safely complete. Right now only
the RELAX field is calculated in terms of an absolute time and we are
ending up with a value of zero.

This patch inherits the u-boot timings for the OCOTP_TIMING calculation on
the i.MX6 and i.MX8. Those timings are known to work and critically specify
values such as STROBE_PROG as a minimum timing.

0493c4792b nvmem: imx-ocotp: Ensure WAIT bits are preserved when setting timing
The i.MX6 and i.MX8 both have a bit-field spanning bits 27:22 called the
WAIT field.

The WAIT field according to the documentation for both parts "specifies
time interval between auto read and write access in one time program. It is
given in number of ipg_clk periods."

This patch ensures that the relevant field is read and written back to the
timing register.

i.MX6 defines OCOTP_CTRLn:ADDR as seven bit address-field with a one bit
RSVD0 field, i.MX7 defines OCOTP_CTRLn:ADDR as a four bit address-field
with a four bit RSVD0 field.

i.MX8 defines the OCOTP_CTRLn:ADDR bit-field as a full range eight bits.

i.MX6 and i.MX7 should return zero for their respective RSVD0 bits and
ignore a write-back of zero where i.MX8 will make use of the full range.

This patch expands the bit-field definition for all users to eight bits,
which is safe due to RSVD0 being a no-op for the i.MX6 and i.MX7.

418e3ea157 bus_find_device: Unify the match callback with class_find_device
There is an arbitrary difference between the prototypes of
bus_find_device() and class_find_device() preventing their callers
from passing the same pair of data and match() arguments to both of
them, which is the const qualifier used in the prototype of
class_find_device().  If that qualifier is also used in the
bus_find_device() prototype, it will be possible to pass the same
match() callback function to both bus_find_device() and
class_find_device(), which will allow some optimizations to be made in
order to avoid code duplication going forward.  Also with that, constify
the "data" parameter as it is passed as a const to the match function.

For this reason, change the prototype of bus_find_device() to match
the prototype of class_find_device() and adjust its callers to use the
const qualifier in accordance with the new prototype of it.

2d1c193911 nvmem: Broaden the selection of NVMEM_SNVS_LPGPR
The SNVS LPGR IP block is also found on other i.MX SoCs that
are not covered by the current SOC_IMX6 || SOC_IMX7D logic.

One example is the i.MX7ULP.

To avoid keep expanding the SoC logic selection, make it broader
by using the more generic ARCH_MXC symbol instead.
