ppc has special instruction forms to efficiently load and store values
in non-native endianness. These can be accessed via the arch-specific
{ld,st}_le{16,32}() inlines in arch/powerpc/include/asm/swab.h.
However, gcc is perfectly capable of generating the byte-reversing
load/store instructions when using the normal, generic cpu_to_le*() and
le*_to_cpu() functions eaning the arch-specific functions don't have much
point.
Worse the "le" in the names of the arch specific functions is now
misleading, because they always generate byte-reversing forms, but some
ppc machines can now run a little-endian kernel.
To start getting rid of the arch-specific forms, this patch removes them
from all the old Power Macintosh drivers, replacing them with the
generic byteswappers.

It was found that having two displays enabled and having an NV12 overlay
on one of the displays will cause underflows/synclosts. Debugging this
pointed to some issue with MFLAG.
It is unclear why this issue is happening, but it looks like there is a
HW bug related to MFLAG and FIFO management. Disabling MFLAG makes this
issue go away, but then we lose the benefit of MFLAG. Also forcing MFLAG
always on makes the issue go away.
Also, using certain values for MFLAG_START, MFLAG thresholds and PRELOAD
makes the issue go away, but there was no obvious logic to which values
work and which don't.
As a workaround until more information about this is found, force MFLAG
always on to make NV12 usable.

OMAP5 has support for MFLAG feature, which allows DSS to dynamically
increase the priority of DISPC's DMA traffic. At the moment we don't
have support for it.
It was noticed that on DRA7 with high bandwidth use cases we see FIFO
underflows. Implementing MFLAG support removed those underflows.
Interestingly, on OMAP5 uEVM no such overflows were seen.
This patch adds a simple MFLAG implementation, where we use a fixed
MFLAG threshold value based on the FIFO size. The thresholds are set to
4/8 of fifo size for low threshold, and 5/8 of fifo size for high
threshold.

At the moment we don't setup FIFO thresholds by default in omapdss. It's
supposed to be done by the user of omapdss. And that is missing from
omapdrm, causing unoptimal thresholds to be used when using omapdrm.
While I believe it's in theory better to allow the user of omapdss to
setup the fifo thresholds, in practice we always use the same values,
and we could as well setup the thresholds in omapdss.
Furthermore, in omapdss init we always swap the FIFO used for GFX and WB
overlays, but we don't swap the FIFO thresholds for those overlays
(which is the reason for omapdrm using unoptimal HW reset values). So
it would make sense to setup the thresholds to account for the swapping
of the FIFOs.
So, this patch adds code to setup default FIFO tresholds at omapdss
init.

Dispc driver presumes that the callers handle locking for all normal
functions. However, omapdrm doesn't handle this, and presumes that all
overlay manager registers are private to that overlay manager, and thus
presumes that configurations for overlay managers can be written via
different threads freely.
For many registers the above is true. The exceptions are DISPC_CONTROL
and DISPC_CONFIG registers, which contain bits for both LCD and TV
overlay managers.
Fixing this properly in omapdrm means a big omapdrm rewrite. So, for
now, add locking to dispc for the problematic registers.

omapdrm doesn't always configure the overlays correctly, causing the
overlay setup functions to be called with zero timings. This leads to
division by zero error.
This happens, for example, when a HDMI cable is not connected, but a
user tries to setup a plane with scaling.
Fixing omapdrm is a big job, so for now let's check for the bad timings
in DISPC and return an error.

The common 'struct videomode' does not have a flag to select when the
sync signals should be driven.
The default behavior of DISPC HW is to drive the sync signal on the
opposite pixel clock edge from data signal, which is also what the
videomode_to_omap_video_timings() uses.
However, it looks like what panels usually expect is that the data and
sync signals are driven on the same edge, so let's change
videomode_to_omap_video_timings() to set the sync_pclk_edge accordingly.
Note that this only affect panels drivers that use
videomode_to_omap_video_timings(), probably when getting the video
timings directly from DT data. The drivers can still configure the
sync_pclk_edge independently if they so wish.

directly to the HW, use switch-case to get the value to be programmed.

DISPC can drive data lines either on rising or falling pixel clock edge,
which can be configured by the user.
Sync lines can also be driven on rising or falling pixel clock edge, but
additionally the HW can be configured to drive the sync lines on
opposite clock edge from the data lines.
This opposite edge setting does not make any sense, as the same effect
can be achieved by just setting the sync lines to be driven on the other
edge compared to the data lines. It feels like some kind of backward
compatibility option, even if all DSS versions seem to have the same
implementation.
To simplify the code and configuration of the signals, and to make the
dispc timings more compatible with what is used on other platforms,
let's just remove the whole opposite-edge support.
The drivers that used OMAPDSS_DRIVE_SIG_OPPOSITE_EDGES setting are
changed so that they use the opposite setting from the data edge.

TFP410 requires that DE is active high and the data and syncs are driven
on rising pixel clock edge. However, at the moment the driver doesn't
request such syncs, and the end result is that the sync settings depend
on default values, which are not right in all cases.
Set the sync values explicitly.

omapdss's sysfs directories for displays used to have 'name' file,
giving the name for the display. This file was later renamed to
'display_name' to avoid conflicts with i2c sysfs 'name' file. Looks like
at least xserver-xorg-video-omap3 requires the 'name' file to be
present.
To fix the regression, this patch creates new kobjects for each display,
allowing us to create sysfs directories for the displays. This way we
have the whole directory for omapdss, and there will be no sysfs file
clashes with the underlying display device's sysfs files.
We can thus add the 'name' sysfs file back.

Decrementing the reference count of the previous endpoint node allows to
use the of_graph_get_next_endpoint function in a for_each_... style macro.
All current users of this function that pass a non-NULL prev parameter
(that is, soc_camera and imx-drm) are changed to not decrement the passed
prev argument's refcount themselves.

Add support for DRA7xx DPI output.
DRA7xx has three DPI outputs, each of which gets its input from a DISPC
channel. However, DRA72x has only one video PLL, and DRA74x has two
video PLLs. In both cases the video PLLs need to be shared between
multiple outputs. The driver doesn't handle this at the moment.
Also, DRA7xx requires configuring CONTROL module bits to route the clock
from the PLL to the used DISPC channel.

DRA7xx SoCs have one (DRA72x) or two (DRA74x) video PLLs. They are
basically the same as DSI PLLs on OMAPs, but without the rest of the DSI
hardware. The video PLLs also require some configuration via the CONTROL
module.

Add functions which configure the control module register
CTRL_CORE_DSS_PLL_CONTROL found in DRA7xx SoCs. This register configures
whether the PLL registers are accessed internally by DSS, or externally
using OCP2SCP interface. They also configure muxes which route the PLL
output to a particular LCD overlay manager within DSS.

A race issue has been observed with the encoder-tpd12s015 driver, which
leads to errors when trying to read EDID. This has only now been
observed, as OMAP4 and OMAP5 boards used SoC's GPIOs for LS_OE GPIO. On
dra7-evm boards, the LS_OE is behind a i2c controlled GPIO expander,
which increases the time to set the LS_OE.
This patch simplifies the handling of the LS_OE gpio in the driver by
removing the interrupt handling totally. The only time we actually need
to enable LS_OE is when we are reading the EDID, and thus we can just
set and clear the LS_OE gpio inside the read_edid() function.
This also has the additional benefit of very slightly decreasing the
power consumption.

The OMAP5 HW supports directing DIGIT channel to DPI output, but the
driver doesn't support that. However, we have marked that configuration
as possible in the dss features, so in certain cases the driver tries to
use that configuration, leading to broken display.
Fix the problem by allowing DIGIT channel to go only to HDMI output.

The sys_copyarea() function performs the same operation as
cfb_copyarea() but using normal memory access instead of I/O
accessors. Since the introduction of sys_copyarea(), there
have been two fixes to cfb_copyarea():

The frame buffer core can be a module, which means any fb drivers

Device driver should not directly select subsystems. In this case
we get build warnings like

When receiving video it is very useful to be able to unpack the InfoFrames.
Logging is useful as well, both for transmitters and receivers.
Especially when implementing the VIDIOC_LOG_STATUS ioctl (supported by many
V4L2 drivers) for a receiver it is important to be able to easily log what
the InfoFrame contains. This greatly simplifies debugging.

CVT v1.1 spec says: "the vertical front porch shall in all cases be
fixed to 3 lines". The code in fbcvt.c instead sets the _back_ porch to
3 (plus margin).
After swapping cvt.v_front_porch and cvt.v_back_porch the resulting
timings were in line with CVT timings in VESA DMT spec.
The bug seems to be more than 9 years old, but I presume it has not been
noticed as usually the video timings come from the EDID or from the
timing tables in fbdev, and probably swapped values for vfp and vbp work
fine for most of the displays.

IRQ_TYPE_PRIO is no longer used by the Atari platform interrupt code
since commit 734085651c ("[PATCH] m68k: convert atari irq code")
in v2.6.18-rc1, so drop it.
Note that its value has been reused for a different purpose
(IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_FALLING) since commit 6a6de9ef58 ("[PATCH] genirq:
core") in v2.6.18-rc1.

fbmon may generate mode timings that are out of spec of the monitor.
eg DELL U2410 has a max clock 170mhz but advertises a resolutions of
1920x1200@60 in its Standard Timings using 2byte code of D1 00.
When this is looked up in the DMT table it gives it a 193mhz clock.
Although the DELL monitor supports 1920x1200@60, it can only run with
reduced timings at 154mhz or DMT id 0x44 which has no STD 2byte code.
This patch checks to see if the mode can be supported by the monitor
by comparing against monspecs.dclkmax.

Add the VESA Display Monitor Timing (DMT) table.
During parsing of Standard Timings, it compare the 2 byte STD code
with DMT to see what the VESA mode should be. If there is no entry
in the vesa_modes table or no match found, it fallsback to the
GTF timings.

When allocate framebuffer memory using dma_alloc_coherent(),
we'd better use dma_addr_t instead of phys_addr_t. Because the
address we got in fact is DMA or bus address for the platform.

We can mark the DMI system id table as __initconst by using a helper
variable that'll tell us if we need to unregister the reboot notifier in
atyfb_exit() instead of matching the DMI system id again.
This frees up ~680 bytes of runtime memory, the DMI table occupies.

After the commit ef691ff48b (OMAPDSS: DT: Get source endpoint by
matching reg-id) we look for the SDI output using the port number.
However, the SDI driver doesn't set the port number, which causes the
SDI display to not initialize.
Fix this by setting the SDI port number to 1. We use a hardcoded value,
as SDI was used only on OMAP3 and it's always port number 1 there.

fb_deferred_io_fsync() returns the value of schedule_delayed_work() as
an error code, but schedule_delayed_work() does not return an error. It
returns true/false depending on whether the work was already queued.
Fix this by ignoring the return value of schedule_delayed_work().

If the probe of an fb driver has been deferred due to missing
dependencies, and the probe is later ran when a module is loaded, the
fbdev framework will try to find a logo to use.
However, the logos are __initdata, and have already been freed. This
causes sometimes page faults, if the logo memory is not mapped,
sometimes other random crashes as the logo data is invalid, and
sometimes nothing, if the fbdev decides to reject the logo (e.g. the
random value depicting the logo's height is too big).
This patch adds a late_initcall function to mark the logos as freed. In
reality the logos are freed later, and fbdev probe may be ran between
this late_initcall and the freeing of the logos. In that case we will
miss drawing the logo, even if it would be possible.

After commit b2b49ccbdd (PM: Kconfig: Set PM_RUNTIME if PM_SLEEP is

The x86 architecture offers via the PAT (Page Attribute Table) a
way to specify different caching modes in page table entries. The
PAT MSR contains 8 entries each specifying one of 6 possible cache
modes. A pte references one of those entries via 3 bits:
_PAGE_PAT, _PAGE_PWT and _PAGE_PCD.
The Linux kernel currently supports only 4 different cache modes.
The PAT MSR is set up in a way that the setting of _PAGE_PAT in a
pte doesn't matter: the top 4 entries in the PAT MSR are the same
as the 4 lower entries.
This results in the kernel not supporting e.g. write-through mode.
Especially this cache mode would speed up drivers of video cards
which now have to use uncached accesses.
OTOH some old processors (Pentium) don't support PAT correctly and
the Xen hypervisor has been using a different PAT MSR configuration
for some time now and can't change that as this setting is part of
the ABI.
This patch set abstracts the cache mode from the pte and introduces
tables to translate between cache mode and pte bits (the default
cache mode "write back" is hard-wired to PAT entry 0). The tables
are statically initialized with values being compatible to old
processors and current usage. As soon as the PAT MSR is changed
(or - in case of Xen - is read at boot time) the tables are changed
accordingly. Requests of mappings with special cache modes are
always possible now, in case they are not supported there will be a
fallback to a compatible but slower mode.
Summing it up, this patch set adds the following features:
- capability to support WT and WP cache modes on processors with
full PAT support
- processors with no or uncorrect PAT support are still working as
today, even if WT or WP cache mode are selected by drivers for
some pages
- reduction of Xen special handling regarding cache mode
Another change is a boot speedup on ridiculously large RAM systems,

On Atmel AT91, the conversion to device tree is now considered complete,
and all machines that were not already converted in 3.18 are assumed to
be unused and dropped by the maintainer.
All remaining board files that were written in C are dropped, and the
ancient at91x40 sub-platform (based on an MMU-less ARM7) is removed
altogether. Cleaning up the last pieces was great fun, so I took the
time to do some of the coding myself and removed several hundred code
lines that ended up unused after the board files were done.
There are still a couple of AT91 specific device drivers that are not
converted to DT (CF, USB-OTG) and currently not working, and the platform
itself is not "multiplatform"-enabled, but both issues are going to be
taken care of in the 3.20 cycle.
This is split out from the other cleanups purely based on the size
of the branch.

This patch refactors the dt parsing code to avoid setting platform_data,
instead just setting lp->pdata directly. This facilitates easier
probe deferral since the current scheme would require us to clear out

Enabling idle mode during audio playback causes the glitches on OMAP5
HDMI. The TRM also suggests to use no-idle for HDMI audio playback.
This patch sets HDMI idle mode to no-idle for the duration of the
playback, and restores it back to original value afterwards.

One of the reasons for having the simplefb nodes in /chosen, and doing
explicit enumeration of the nodes there, is too allow enumerating them sooner,
so that we get a console earlier on.
Doing this earlier then fs_initcall is not useful, since the fb only turns
into a console when fbcon intializes, which is a fs_initcall too.

Various fb drivers register themselves before module_init so as to have a
console as early as possible, this is of little use if fbcon does not
initialize early too.
Fbcon cannot initialize earlier then fs_initcall, because then the creation
of /sys/class/graphics/fbcon will fail.

This claims and enables clocks listed in the simple framebuffer dt node.
This is needed so that the display engine, in case the required clocks
are known by the kernel code and are described in the dt, will remain

Now that we have the common DSS PLL support, change HDMI to use it. This
results in quite a lot of changes, but almost all of them are trivial
name changes.
The function to program the PLL settings can be removed from hdmi_pll.c,
as the common PLL API contains the same functionality.

hdmi_pll_enable powers off the PLL as the first thing it does. Right
after that, it enables the PLL powers.
The initial power-off is pointless, so let's remove it.

At the moment we have one function, hdmi_pll_enable, which enables the
PLL and writes the PLL configuration to registers.
To make the HDMI PLL ahere to the DSS PLL API, split the hdmi_pll_enable
into two parts: hdmi_pll_enable which enables the PLL HW, and
hdmi_pll_set_config which writes the config.

HDMI PLL code needs the pointer to the WP block so that it can manage
its power. Currently this is passed as a function parameter to
hdmi_pll_enable and hdmi_pll_disable. To make the PLL function adhere to
the DSS PLL API, we need to remove the WP parameter.
This patch stores the WP pointer to hdmi_pll_data in hdmi_pll_init, so
that it's available when needed.

The SYSRESET bits in HDMI PLL do not reset the PLL itself, but only
affect the power used for the PLL.
Afaik there is no reason to use the SYSRESET bits, and we don't use it
in the other PLLs, so let's remove the HDMI PLL reset to make the PLL
code simpler and similar to other PLLs.

The code calculating HDMI PLL parameters has always been very confusing.
Now that we are implementing a common PLL library for the DSS, it's
important that the PLL code is understandable.
This patch rewrites the calculation code, and removes a few hacks that
were used there.

Fix this by adding a "has_refsel" field, and setting the REFSEL based on

We also need to create struct dss_pll_hw entries for PLL hardware

OMAP DSS currently contains two different PLLs: DSI PLL (Type A PLL) and
HDMI PLL (Type B PLL). When DRA7 support is added, we will also support
Video PLLs (Type A).
The driver currently handles all PLLs totally separately. This patch
adds common DSS PLL code, which
a) lets us have common code for the PLLs
b) lets the users of the PLLs use a common API, instead of DSI API or
HDMI API.

When DPI uses the DSI PLL for pixel clock, the DPI code will call
dsi_runtime_get/put to keep the DSI block enabled. A much simpler way to
handle this is to do dsi_runtime_get/put in DSI's dsi_pll_init() and
dsi_pll_uninit(), thus removing the need for DSI to call the runtime PM
functions.

We are creating a common DSS PLL code, so having fixed DSI specific
hsdiv fields in the clock information is not ok.
This patch changes the hsdiv fields to arrays, so that we can use all
the 4 possible hsdiv outputs (DSI only usees 2), and we have generic way
to access the hsdivs.

struct dsi_clock_info contains clkin field, which is the rate of the
PLL's input clock. This field is not needed, as it can be easily
retrieved by using the clk_get_rate().

struct dsi_clock_info represents the clocks handled by the DSI, mostly
PLL related clocks. In an effort to create common PLL code, we need to
remove all the non-PLL items from dsi_clock_info.
This patch removes LP clock related fields from dsi_clock_info, and
creates a new struct dsi_lp_clock_info for holding clock info for the LP
clock.

The DSS PLL has support to power on the PLL's highspeed clock output
and HSDIV output separately. In practice both need to powered on, as in
most OMAP's that's the only working configuration. We already do that in
dsi_pll_init(), by overriding the passed arguments so that both are
always powered.
Simplify the code by removing the support for choosing which outputs to
power on.

At the moment we have two functions to wait for the HSDIV clocks to get
active, dsi_wait_pll_hsdiv_dispc_active and
dsi_wait_pll_hsdiv_dsi_active. Instead of such inconvenient functions,
let's just make sure that the hsdiv clocks are active after the pll has
been enabled.
This patch adds code to dsi_pll_set_clock_div() to wait until HSDIV
clocks are active.

Register DPI outputs, and assign the port_num to them as specified by the
'reg' property in the DPI ports in DT.
To support multiple DPI instances, dpi_get_channel needs to take the DPI
instance's port number to get the corresponding channel. Make it take this
argument. We just pass 0 in the non-DT path, since we don't support multiple
instances in the non-DT case.

In omapdss_of_find_source_for_first_ep, we retrieve a source endpoint's DT node,
and then see what omapdss output has the matching device_node pointer in
omap_dss_find_output_by_node.
For all DPI and SDI outputs, the device_node pointer is set as the parent's DSS
device_node pointer. If the source is one of these outputs, the above method
won't work.
To get the correct output for ports within DSS(and in other cases in the future,
where multiple ports might be under one device), we require additional
information which is exclusive to the output port.
We create a new field in omap_dss_device called 'port_num', this provides port
number of the output port corresponding to this device. When searching for the
source endpoint in DT, we extract the 'reg' property from the port corresponding
to the endpoint source. From the list of registered outputs, we pick out that
output which has both dev->of_node and port_num matching with the device_node
pointer and 'reg' of the source endpoint node from DT.
For encoder blocks(the ones which have both an input and output port), we need
to set the port_num as the 'reg' property for the output port as defined in the
DT bindings. We set port_num to 1 in the tfp410 and tpd12s015 encoder drivers.

The init/uninit port functions are used to set up the DPI and SDI outputs under
the dss platform device. A 'reg' property is used to determine the port number
of the output. This tells us whether the port is DPI or SDI for OMAP34xx DSS
revision. For other DSS revisions, we only have DPI outputs under the dss
platform device.
For multiple DPI output instances(introduced in DRA7xx DSS), we will use the
the port number to specify which DPI output instance is being inited.
The current functions work fine if there is only one DPI output instance in
DSS. For multiple DPI instances, it would get complicated to figure out whether
port number was used to specify whether the output is SDI, or another DPI
instance.
We create a list of port types supported for each DSS rev, with the index of the
port in the list specifying the port number of the output for that DSS revision.
This allows us to have a more generic way to init/uninit ports within DSS, and
also support multiple DPI ports.
We make the uninit_port functions iterative since we will have multiple DPI
ports to uninit in the future.

DPI and SDI ports are backed by only one parent DSS device. We don't have a
corresponding platform_device for ports under DSS. In order to support multiple
instances of DPI, we need to pass the driver data pointer through the DPI port's
private data ('data' member in device_node struct).
dpi_init_output/dpi_uninit_output are untouched and only used for non-DT case,
these are called when the DPI platform device probed/removed. These funcs will
be removed when non-DT mode is removed.
dpi_init_output_port/dpi_uninit_output_port are created and used for the DT
path, called when DSS inits/uninits it's ports. These new functions retrieve
the dpi_data pointer from 'port->data', and not from the platform device's
data(pdev->dev) like in the non-DT path.
We add some code in dss_uninit_ports() to pass a pointer to the DPI port in
dpi_uninit_port().

Allocate driver data(dpi_data) for each DPI instance. It's allocated in
omap_dpi_probe() when DT isn't used, and in dpi_init_port() when DT is used.
The dpi_data struct instance is no longer global. In the case of DPI ops, it's
retrieved from dpi_get_data_from_dssdev(). 'dssdev' passed by the connected
encoder/panel driver is a pointer to the 'output' member in dpi_data, and thus
can be used to get the DPI instance's driver data. In the case of probe/ini_port
functions, it's set as DPI/DSS device's private data embedded in the
platform_device struct.
Having dpi_data as private data of the platform device will not work for
multiple DPI instances in the DT case. This is because there is no corresponding
platform_device for DPI or SDI, they exist only as ports under the parent DSS
platform_device in the DT case. The DPI port's private data('data' member in
device_node struct) will later be used to store dpi_data.

DPI related data is currently a static global struct parameter. It is accessed
directly by functions in the driver.
This method won't work if we want the driver to support multiple DPI instances.
Create struct dpi_data, and pass its pointer to functions which need to use it.
We still have a static instance defined for dpi_data, which is accessed by top
level DPI ops. This will be removed when the driver dynamically allocates
dpi_data for each DPI instance.

If PWM device is requested by means of legacy API pwm_request(), its
resources are not freed on module unbind, which may cause an oops on

If no framebuffers found, sm501fb_probe() breaks off initialization,
deallocates sm501fb_info, but returns zero. As a result, use after free
can happen in sm501fb_remove().
The patch adds -ENODEV as a return value in this case.

Add support for it.
The basic difference is the number of clocks that are required:

PLL_SELFREQDCO bitfield is from bit 3 to 1, but the driver writes bits
from 4 to 1. The bit 4 is 'reserved', so this probably should not cause
any issues, but it's better to fix it.

HDMI PLL's REGSD field is only set by the driver if the PLL's output
clock is over 1GHz. This is clearly an error, as REGSD should be set
always.

The PLL settings are committed by setting GO bit, which is then cleared
by the HW when the settings have been taken into use.
The current PLL code handles this wrong: instead of waiting for the bit
to be cleared, it waits for the bit to be set. Usually, the bit is
always set, as the CPU has just set it before. However, if the CPU takes
enough time between setting the GO bit and checking it, the HW may
already have cleared the bit and this leads to timeout error.
Fix the wait to check the bit properly.

omapfb disables all the overlays when freeing resources, but it should
also remove those overlays from overlay managers.
Not doing so causes a crash if omapfb is unbound and bound, or omapfb
module is removed and loaded, while keeping omapdss around.
Fix this by calling unset_manager() for all overlays.

When omapfb is shutting down, it will disable all the overlays. However,
instead of actually disabling all the overlays, it disables only all the
overlays that are currently attached to framebuffers.
On OMAP4+, this leaves the fourth overlay left enabled.
Fix the loop so that we actually go through all the overlays.

omapdss drivers cannot handle devices being unbound while the devices
are part of a connected display pipeline. Module refcounts are used to
prevent unloading the modules, but one can still manually unbind the
devices via sysfs, causing crash.
Set suppress_bind_attrs to disable the bind/unbind support via sysfs.

Since strsep is used to tokenize the options string, after each option
match the code should use "continue" to get the next token from strsep.
This patch applies this pattern consistently.
Previously, for "scrollback:" and "map:" the parse code would return
(unconditionally: strsep ensures *options != ','), causing any
following option to be ignored, while for "vc:" the parse code would
go on to parse further options within the same token, which could lead
to invalid input being accepted.

The kernel used to contain two functions for length-delimited,
case-insensitive string comparison, strnicmp with correct semantics and
a slightly buggy strncasecmp. The latter is the POSIX name, so strnicmp
was renamed to strncasecmp, and strnicmp made into a wrapper for the new
strncasecmp to avoid breaking existing users.
To allow the compat wrapper strnicmp to be removed at some point in the
future, and to avoid the extra indirection cost, do
s/strnicmp/strncasecmp/g.

errors.
Replace the uses with standard structure definitions instead. This is

When the PM domain containing the HDMI hardware block is powered down,
the HDMI register values (incl. interrupt polarity settings) are lost.
During resume, after powering up the PM domain, interrupts are
re-enabled, and an interrupt storm happens due to incorrect interrupt
polarity settings:

To fix this, re-initialize the interrupt polarity settings, and the
htop1 register block (if present), during resume.
As the .suspend_noirq() and .resume_noirq() callbacks are not called
when using the generic PM domain, the normal .resume() callback is used,
and the device interrupt needs to be disabled/enabled manually.
This fixes resume from s2ram with power down of the A4MP PM domain on
r8a7740/Armadillo.

The function bitcpy_rev has a bug that may result in screen corruption.
The bug happens under these conditions:
* the end of the destination area of a copy operation is aligned on a long
word boundary
* the end of the source area is not aligned on a long word boundary
* we are copying more than one long word
In this case, the variable shift is non-zero and the variable first is
zero. The statements FB_WRITEL(comp(d0, FB_READL(dst), first), dst) reads
the last long word of the destination and writes it back unchanged
(because first is zero). Correctly, we should write the variable d0 to the
last word of the destination in this case.
This patch fixes the bug by introducing and extra test if first is zero.
The patch also removes the references to fb_memmove in the code that is
commented out because fb_memmove was removed from framebuffer subsystem.

The framebuffer code uses the current background color to fill the border
when switching consoles, however, this results in inconsistent behavior.
For example:
- start Midnigh Commander
- the border is black
- switch to another console and switch back
- the border is cyan
- type something into the command line in mc
- the border is cyan
- switch to another console and switch back
- the border is black
- press F9 to go to menu
- the border is black
- switch to another console and switch back
- the border is dark blue
When switching to a console with Midnight Commander, the border is random
color that was left selected by the slang subsystem.
This patch fixes this inconsistency by always using black as the
background color when switching consoles.

i915_display.c: fix missing dev_priv conflict.
The DT-based panel capabilities selection was picking up
a subset of available modes based on hardware configuration.
This was wrong, as the capabilities describe available
memory models and adapt the display controller to them
that the RGB output is wired up correctly (as in: R and
B components are not swapped).
This patch fixes it by removing the unnecessary limitation.

Commit 7edaa761ee ("video: mx3fb: Add backlight control support")
changed the mx3fb driver so it always selects the BACKLIGHT_CLASS_DEVICE
symbol, but that is hidden behind BACKLIGHT_LCD_SUPPORT in Kconfig, so
we get a Kconfig warning for multi_v5_defconfig, which doesn't have that:

work with or without backlight support.
