5163af5a5e mmc: core: Add support for sending commands during data transfer
A host controller driver exposes its capability using caps flag
MMC_CAP_CMD_DURING_TFR. A driver with that capability can accept requests
that are marked mrq->cap_cmd_during_tfr = true. Then the driver informs the
upper layers when the command line is available for further commands by
calling mmc_command_done(). Because of that, the driver will not then
automatically send STOP commands, and it is the responsibility of the upper
layer to send a STOP command if it is required.

For requests submitted through the mmc_wait_for_req() interface, the caller
sets mrq->cap_cmd_during_tfr = true which causes mmc_wait_for_req() in fact
not to wait. The caller can then send commands that do not use the data
lines. Finally the caller can wait for the transfer to complete by calling
mmc_wait_for_req_done() which is now exported.

For requests submitted through the mmc_start_req() interface, the caller
again sets mrq->cap_cmd_during_tfr = true, but mmc_start_req() anyway does
not wait. The caller can then send commands that do not use the data
lines. Finally the caller can wait for the transfer to complete in the
normal way i.e. calling mmc_start_req() again.

Irrespective of how a cap_cmd_during_tfr request is started,
mmc_is_req_done() can be called if the upper layer needs to determine if
the request is done. However the appropriate waiting function (either
mmc_wait_for_req_done() or mmc_start_req()) must still be called.

The implementation consists primarily of a new completion
mrq->cmd_completion which notifies when the command line is available for
further commands. That completion is completed by mmc_command_done().
When there is an ongoing data transfer, calls to mmc_wait_for_req() will
automatically wait on that completion, so the caller does not have to do
anything special.

Note, in the case of errors, the driver may call mmc_request_done() without
calling mmc_command_done() because mmc_request_done() always calls
mmc_command_done().

d6786fefe8 mmc: dw_mmc: add reset support to dwmmc host controller
Dwmmc host controller may in unknown state when entering kernel boot. One
example is when booting from eMMC, bootloader need initialize MMC host
controller into some state so it can read. In order to make sure MMC host
controller in a clean initial state, this reset support is added.

With this patch, a 'resets' property can be added into dw_mmc device
tree node. The hardware logic is: dwmmc host controller IP receives a reset
signal from a 'reset provider' (eg. power management unit). The 'resets'
property points to this reset signal. So, during dwmmc driver probe,
it can use this signal to reset itself.

5275a652d2 mmc: sd: Export SD Status via “ssr” device attribute
The SD Status register contains several important fields related to the
SD Card proprietary features.
Those fields may be used by user space applications for vendor specific
usage.
None of those fields are exported today by the driver to user space.
In this patch, we are reading the SD Status register and exporting
(using MMC_DEV_ATTR) the SD Status register to the user space.

634faf3686 brcmfmac: add support for bcm4339 chip with modalias sdio:c00v02D0d4339
The driver already supports the bcm4339 chipset but only for the variant
that shares the same modalias as the bcm4335, ie. sdio:c00v02D0d4335.
It turns out that there are also bcm4339 devices out there that have a
more distiguishable modalias sdio:c00v02D0d4339.

5320226a05 mmc: core: Disable HPI for certain Hynix eMMC cards
Certain Hynix eMMC 4.41 cards might get broken when HPI feature is used
and hence this patch disables the HPI feature for such buggy cards.

As some of the other features like BKOPs/Cache/Sanitize are dependent on
HPI feature, those features would also get disabled if HPI is disabled.

81ac2af657 mmc: core: implement enhanced strobe support
Controllers use data strobe line to latch data from devices
under hs400 mode, but not for cmd line. So since emmc 5.1, JEDEC
introduces enhanced strobe mode for latching cmd response from
emmc devices to host controllers. This new feature is optional,
so it depends both on device's cap and host's cap to decide
whether to use it or not.

7ff2760999 mmc: core: Add a facility to "pause" re-tuning
Re-tuning is not possible when switched to the RPMB
partition.  However re-tuning should not be needed
if re-tuning is done immediately before switching,
a small set of operations is done, and then we
immediately switch back to the main partition.

To ensure that re-tuning can't be done for a short
while, add a facility to "pause" re-tuning.

The existing facility to hold / release re-tuning
is used but it also flags re-tuning as needed to cause
re-tuning before the next command (which will be the
switch to RPMB).

We also need to "unpause" in the recovery path, which
is catered for by adding it to mmc_retune_disable().

bf96208f05 mmc: tmio: refactor set_clock a little
Some of the indentation made the code awful to read. Fix that. Also,
introduce defines instead of magic hex values. Note that this includes
one change: We mask out know 0xff instead of 0x1ff. But 0x100 has always
been the clock enable bit. It doesn't make any sense to set it depending
on the clock calculation. Update copyright notices, too. I'll be working
on those files some more in the future.

The dw_mmc driver stores the physical address of the MMIO registers
in a pointer, which requires the use of type casts, and is actually
broken if anyone ever has this device on a 32-bit SoC in registers
above 4GB. Gcc warns about this possibility when the driver is built

8dede18e2e mmc: core: Refactor code to register the MMC PM notifier
Instead of checking for "#ifdef" directly in the code, let's invent a pair
of mmc core functions to deal with register/unregister the MMC PM notifier
block. Implement stubs for these functions when CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is unset,
as in that case the PM notifiers isn't used.

9979dbe515 mmc: mmc: extend the mmc_send_tuning()
The mmc_execute_tuning() has already prepared the opcode,
there is no need to prepare it again at mmc_send_tuning(),
and, there is a BUG of mmc_send_tuning() to determine the opcode
by bus width, assume eMMC was running at HS200, 4bit mode,
then the mmc_send_tuning() will overwrite the opcode from CMD21
to CMD19, then got error.

in addition, extend an argument of "cmd_error" to allow getting
if there was cmd error when tune response.

integrated dw_mmc and ARM pl330 dma controller. This patch add

2086f801cb mmc: core: Add mmc_regulator_set_vqmmc()
This adds logic to the MMC core to set VQMMC.  This is expected to be
called by MMC drivers like dw_mmc as part of (or instead of) their
start_signal_voltage_switch() callback.

A few notes:

* When setting the signal voltage to 3.3V we do our best to make VQMMC
  and VMMC match.  It's been reported that this makes some old cards
  happy since they were tested back in the day before UHS when VQMMC
  and VMMC were provided by the same regulator.  A nice side effect of
  this is that we don't end up on the hairy edge of VQMMC (2.7V),
  which some EEs claim is a little too close to the minimum for
  comfort.
  This is done in two steps. At first we try to find a VQMMC within
  a 0.3V tolerance of VMMC and if this is not supported by the
  supplying regulator we try to find a suitable voltage within the
  whole 2.7V-3.6V area of the spec.

* The two step approach is currently necessary, as the used
  regulator_set_voltage_triplet(min, target, max) uses a simple
  implementation that just tries two basic steps:
	regulator_set_voltage(target, max);
	regulator_set_voltage(min, target);
  So with only one step with 2.7-3.6V borders, if a suitable voltage
  is a bit below VMMC, we would directly get the lowest 2.7V
  which some boards (like Rockchips) don't like at all.

* When setting the signal voltage to 1.8V or 1.2V we aim for that
  specific voltage instead of picking the lowest one in the range.

* We very purposely don't print errors in mmc_regulator_set_vqmmc().
  There are cases where the MMC core will try several different
  voltages and we don't want to pollute the logs.

9eadcc0581 mmc: core: Remove MMC_CLKGATE
MMC_CLKGATE was once invented to save power by gating the bus clock at
request inactivity. At that time it served its purpose. The modern way to
deal with power saving for these scenarios, is by using runtime PM.

Nowadays, several host drivers have deployed runtime PM, but for those
that haven't and which still cares power saving at request inactivity,
it's certainly time to deploy runtime PM as it has been around for several
years now.

To simplify code to mmc core and thus decrease maintenance efforts, this
patch removes all code related to MMC_CLKGATE.

57e104864b mmc: dw_mmc: add quirk for broken data transfer over scheme
This patch add a new quirk to add a s/w timer to notify the driver
to terminate current transfer and report a data timeout to the core,
if DTO interrupt does NOT come within the given time.

dw_mmc call mmc_request_done func to finish transfer depends on
DTO interrupt. If DTO interrupt does not come in sending data state,
the current transfer will be blocked.

We got the reply from synopsys:
There are two counters but both use the same value of [31:8] bits.
Data timeout counter doesn't wait for stop clock and you should get
DRTO even when the clock is not stopped.
Host Starvation timeout counter is triggered with stop clock condition.

This means that host should get DRTO and DTO interrupt.

But this case really exists, when driver reads tuning data from
card on RK3288-pink2 board. I measured waveforms by oscilloscope
and found that card clock was always on and data lines were always
holded high level in sending data state.

There are two possibility that data over interrupt doesn't come in
reading data state on RK3X SoCs:
- get command done interrupt, but doesn't get any data-related interrupt.
- get data error interrupt, but doesn't get data over interrupt.

575c319dfe mmc: dw_mmc: fix pio mode when internal dmac is enabled
The dw_mci_init_dma() may decide to not use dma, but pio instead, caused
by things like wrong dma settings in the system.

Till now the code dw_mci_init_slot() always assumed that dma is available
when CONFIG_MMC_DW_IDMAC was defined, ignoring the host->use_dma var
set during dma init.

So when now the dma init failed for whatever reason, the transfer sizes
would still be set for dma transfers, especially including the maximum
block-count calculated from host->ring_size and resulting in a

because host->ring_size is 0 in this case and the slot init code uses

in the process of resume without inserting SD adapter because of

In the (not so unlikely) case that the mmc controller timeout budget is
enough for exactly one erase-group, the simplification of allowing one
sector has an enormous performance penalty. We optimize this special case
by introducing a flag that prohibits erase-group boundary crossing, so
that we can allow trimming more than one sector at a time.

9f6e0bff2a mmc: Add support for disabling write-protect detection
It is not uncommon to see systems where there is no physical write-protect
signal (e.g. when using eMMC or microSD card slots). For some controllers,
which have a dedicated write-protection detection logic (like SDHCI
controllers), the get_ro() callback can return bogus data in such a case.

Instead of handling this on a per controller basis this patch adds a new
capability flag to the MMC core that can be set to specify that the result
of get_ro() is invalid. When the flag is set the core will not call
get_ro() and assume that the card is always read-write.

dfa13ebbe3 mmc: host: Add facility to support re-tuning
Currently, there is core support for tuning during
initialization. There can also be a need to re-tune
periodically (e.g. sdhci) or to re-tune after the
host controller is powered off (e.g. after PM
runtime suspend / resume) or to re-tune in response
to CRC errors.

The main requirements for re-tuning are:
  - ability to enable / disable re-tuning
  - ability to flag that re-tuning is needed
  - ability to re-tune before any request
  - ability to hold off re-tuning if the card is busy
  - ability to hold off re-tuning if re-tuning is in
  progress
  - ability to run a re-tuning timer

To support those requirements 7 members are added to struct
mmc_host:

  unsigned int		can_retune:1;	/* re-tuning can be used */
  unsigned int		doing_retune:1;	/* re-tuning in progress */
  unsigned int		retune_now:1;   /* do re-tuning at next req */

need_retune is an integer so it can be set without needing

This reverts commit 6685ac62b2 ("mmc: core: Convert mmc_driver to
device_driver")

The reverted commit went too far in simplifing the device driver parts
for mmc.

Let's restore the old mmc_driver to enable driver core to sooner
or later to remove the ->probe(), ->remove() and ->shutdown() callbacks
from the struct device_driver.

Note that, the old ->suspend|resume() callbacks in the struct
mmc_driver don't need to be restored, since the mmc block layer has
converted to the modern system PM ops.

76184ac17e mmc: dw_mmc: fix fifo ordering in big endian
The dw_mmc driver changes to make the IO accesors endian agnostic did not
take into account the fifo accesses do not need to be swapped. To fix this
add a mmci_fifo_read/write wrapper to allow these to be passed through the
IO without being swapped.

Since these are now specific functions, it would be easier just to store
the pointer to the fifo registers in the host block instead of the offset
to them. So change the host->data_offset to host->fifo_reg (which also
means we catch all the places this is read or written).

5c935165da mmc: dw_mmc: Add a timeout for sending CMD11
In the Designware databook's description of the "Voltage Switch Normal
Scenario" it instructs us to set a timer and fail the voltage change
if we don't see the voltage change interrupt within 2ms.  Let's
implement that.  Without implementing this I have often been able to
reproduce a hang while trying to send CMD11 on an rk3288-based board
while constantly ejecting and inserting UHS cards.

Some controllers do not respond after the first auto-CMD23 is issued.

This allows CMD23 to still work (mandatory for the faster UHS-I mode)

3aa8793f75 mmc: core: Initial support for MMC power sequences
System on chip designs may specify a specific MMC power sequence. To
successfully detect an (e)MMC/SD/SDIO card, that power sequence must
be followed while initializing the card.

To be able to handle these SOC specific power sequences, let's add a
MMC power sequence interface. It provides the following functions to
help the mmc core to deal with these power sequences.

mmc_pwrseq_alloc() - Invoked from mmc_of_parse(), to initialize data.
mmc_pwrseq_pre_power_on()- Invoked in the beginning of mmc_power_up().
mmc_pwrseq_post_power_on()- Invoked at the end in mmc_power_up().
mmc_pwrseq_power_off()- Invoked from mmc_power_off().
mmc_pwrseq_free() - Invoked from mmc_free_host(), to free data.

Each MMC power sequence provider will be responsible to implement a set
of callbacks. These callbacks mirrors the functions above.

This patch adds the skeleton, following patches will extend the core of
the MMC power sequence and add support for a specific simple MMC power
sequence.

Do note, since the mmc_pwrseq_alloc() is invoked from mmc_of_parse(),
host drivers needs to make use of this API to enable the support for
MMC power sequences. Moreover the MMC power sequence support depends on
CONFIG_OF.

One of the reasons omap_hsmmc doesn't use the slot-gpio library
is that it has some non-standard functionality in the card-detect
interrupt service routine.

To make it possible for omap_hsmmc (and maybe others) to be converted
to use slot-gpio, add 'mmc_gpio_request_cd_isr' which provide an
alternate isr to be register by the slot-gpio code.

By moving the allocation of the slot-gpio data into mmc_alloc_host(),
we can remove the slot-gpio internal calls to mmc_gpio_alloc().

This means mmc_gpio_alloc() has now only one caller left, which
consequence allow us to simplify and remove some of the slot-gpio code.

Additionally, this makes the slot-gpio mutex redundant, so let's remove
it.

dw_mci_enable_sdio_irq() unsafely does a read-modify-write of the
INTMASK register.

We can't just use the standard host->lock since that lock is not irq
safe and mmc_signal_sdio_irq() (called from interrupt context) calls
dw_mci_enable_sdio_irq().  Add a new irq-safe lock to protect INTMASK.

An alternate solution to this is to punt mmc_signal_sdio_irq() to the
tasklet and then protect INTMASK modifications by the standard host
lock.  This seemed like a bit more of a high-latency change.

Re-tuning for HS400 mode must be done in HS200
mode. Currently there is no support for that.
That needs to be reflected in the code.
Specifically, if tuning is executed in HS400 mode
then return an error, and do not start the
tuning timer if HS200 tuning is being done prior
to switching to HS400.

Note that periodic re-tuning is not expected
to be needed for HS400 but re-tuning is still
needed after the host controller has lost power.
In the case of suspend/resume that is not necessary
because the card is fully re-initialised. That
just leaves runtime suspend/resume with no support
for HS400 re-tuning.

e9fb05d5bc mmc: sdhci: Add HS400 support to SDHCI driver
MMC core already has support for HS400.  Add HS400
support to SDHCI driver.  The SDHC Standard specification
does not define HS400 so consequently HS400 support is
non-standard.  However HS400 is not selected without
the host controller setting the corresponding capability
flags so host controllers not yet supporting HS400
will not be affected.  To support that, a quirk
SDHCI_QUIRK2_CAPS_BIT63_FOR_HS400 is introduced to
enable the use of capabilities register reserved bit-63
to indicate HS400 support.

Because HS400 is non-standard for SDHCI, it is possible
that different vendors will do things in different ways.
However HS200 support faced the same issue but currently
there is only one solution.  As such, no attempt has
been made to provide for alternate HS400 solutions except
for SDHCI_QUIRK2_CAPS_BIT63_FOR_HS400.

Synopsys DW_MMC IP core supports Internal DMA Controller with 64-bit address mode from IP version 2.70a onwards.
Updated the driver to support IDMAC 64-bit addressing mode.

e57a5f61ea mmc: sdhci: Add 64-bit ADMA support
Add 64-bit ADMA support including:
	- add 64-bit ADMA descriptor
	- add SDHCI_USE_64_BIT_DMA flag
	- set upper 32-bits of DMA addresses
	- ability to select 64-bit ADMA
	- ability to use 64-bit ADMA sizes and alignment
	- display "ADMA 64-bit" when host is added

It is assumed that a 64-bit capable device has set a 64-bit DMA mask
and *must* do 64-bit DMA.  A driver has the opportunity to change
that during the first call to ->enable_dma().  Similarly
SDHCI_QUIRK2_BROKEN_64_BIT_DMA must be left to the drivers to
implement.

76fe379aca mmc: sdhci: Parameterize ADMA sizes and alignment
In preparation for 64-bit ADMA, parameterize ADMA sizes
and alignment.  64-bit ADMA has a larger descriptor
because it contains a 64-bit address instead of a 32-bit
address.  Also data must be 8-byte aligned instead
of 4-byte aligned.  Consequently, sdhci_host members
are added for descriptor, table, and buffer sizes
and alignment.

1c3d5f6ddc mmc: sdhci: Use 'void *' for not 'u8 *' for ADMA data
It is kernel-style to use 'void *' for anonymous data.
This is being applied to the ADMA bounce buffer which
contains unaligned bytes, and to the ADMA descriptor
table which will contain 32-bit ADMA descriptors
or 64-bit ADMA descriptors when support is added.

6130e7a9c3 mmc: dw_mmc: Remove old card detect infrastructure
The dw_mmc driver had a bunch of code that ran whenever a card was
ejected and inserted.  However, this code was old and crufty and
should be removed.  Some evidence that it's really not needed:

1. Is is supposed to be legal to use 'cd-gpio' on dw_mmc instead of
   using the built-in card detect mechanism.  The 'cd-gpio' code
   doesn't run any of the crufty old code but yet still works.

2. While looking at this, I realized that my old change (369ac86 mmc:
   dw_mmc: don't queue up a card detect at slot startup) actually
   castrated the old code a little bit already and nobody noticed.
   Specifically "last_detect_state" was left as 0 at bootup.  That
   means that on the first card removal none of the crufty code ran.

3. I can run "while true; do dd if=/dev/mmcblk1 of=/dev/null; done"
   while ejecting and inserting an SD Card and the world doesn't
   explode.

If some of the crufty old code is actually needed, we should justify
it and also put it in some place where it will be run even with
"cd-gpio".

Note that in my case I'm using the "cd-gpio" mechanism but for various
reasons the hardware triggers a dw_mmc "card detect" at bootup.  That
was actually causing a real bug.  The card detect workqueue was
running while the system was trying to enumerate the card.  The
"present != slot->last_detect_state" triggered and we were doing all
kinds of crazy stuff and messing up enumeration.  The new mechanism of
just asking the core to check the card is much safer and then the
bogus interrupt doesn't hurt.

0f76242676 mmc: core: Report firmware version for eMMC 5.0 devices.
For eMMC 5.0 compliant device, firmware version is stored in ext_csd.
Report firmware as a 64bit hexa decimal. Vendor can use hexa or ascii
string to report firmware version.
Also add FFU related EXT_CSD register and note if the device is FFU capable.

The struct mmc_driver adds an extra layer on top of the struct
device_driver. That would be fine, if there were a good reason, but
that's not the case.

Let's simplify code by converting to the common struct device_driver
instead and thus also removing superfluous overhead.
