Also add a stat counter for this that gets exported both via old /proc interface and ctnetlink. Assuming the old default size of 16536 buckets and max hash occupancy of 64k, this results in 128k insertions (origin+reply), so ~8 entries per chain on average. The revised settings in this series will result in about two entries per bucket on average. This allows a hard-limit ceiling of 64. This is not tunable at the moment, but its possible to either increase nf_conntrack_buckets or decrease nf_conntrack_max to reduce average lengths. Linux kernel

There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
