Add a helper function to cast back from a component struct to the CODEC struct
it is embedded in. This is useful in situations where we know that a certain
component is a CODEC and want to get access to some CODEC specific properties.

Freeing the current list element while iterating over the list will cause a use
after free since the iterator function will still use the current element to
look up the next. Use list_for_each_safe() and remove the element from the list
before freeing it to avoid this.

Now that every DAI has a component we can track the DAIs on a per component
basis. This simplifies the DAI lookup when we are only interested in DAIs of a
specific component and also makes it possible to have multiple components with
the same parent device and also register DAIs.

snd_soc_register_dais() looks up the CODEC that is registering the DAIs by
looping over all registered CODECs. This patch updates the code to
simply pass the CODEC that registers the DAIs to snd_soc_register_dais() thus
avoiding the lookup.

snd_soc_register_dais() has basically the same code as snd_soc_register_dai(),
but running in a loop. The only difference is that snd_soc_register_dai() calls
fmt_single_name() to generate the DAIs name and snd_soc_register_dais() calls
fmt_multiple_name(). This patch pushes the check in __snd_soc_register_component()
which decides whether to call snd_soc_register_dai() or snd_soc_register_dais()
to snd_soc_register_dais() to decide which naming scheme to use. This allows us
to remove snd_soc_register_dai().
The patch also updates snd_soc_register_dais() to unregister every DAI it finds
for the component rather than trying to unregister one DAI for each DAI that was
registered. Both have the same result since there won't be more DAIs than what
have been registered, but the former is easier to implement.

In snd_soc_bytes_put function, it forces cpu to do cpu_to_be translation,
but for mmio bus which uses REGMAP_ENDIAN_NATIVE, it doesn't need to do
endian translation. So it is better to use regmap's api which can decide
if this translation is needed according to bus configuration.

In some cases, we need regmap's format parse_val function
to do be/le translation according to the bus configuration.
For example, snd_soc_bytes_put() uses regmap to write/read values,
and use cpu_to_be() directly to covert MASK into big endian. This
is a defect, and should use regmap's format function to do it according
to bus configuration.

There is no reason why active count tracking should only be done for CODECs but
not for other components. Moving the active count from the snd_soc_codec struct
to the snd_soc_component struct reduces the differences between CODECs and other
components and will eventually allow component to component DAI links (Which is
a prerequisite for converting CODECs to components).

Instead of directly checking the 'active' field of the CODEC struct add a new
helper function that will return either true or false depending on whether the
CODEC is active. This will make the migration to the component level easier.
The patch also updates all CODEC drivers that check the active attribute to use
the new helper function.

For CODEC to CODEC links we should only immediately power down if both CODECs
are configured to ignore the power down delay. Factor the logic for this
into a helper function that can be used for both compressed and normal PCMs.

For the snd_soc_cache_init(), the reg_size maybe zero and then the value
of codec->reg_cache, which is alloced via kzalloc, maybe equal to
ZERO_SIZE_PTR. If the reg parameter of snd_soc_cache_write() is large enough,
the cache[idx] = val maybe cause the kernel crash...
So this patch fix this via doing the zero pionter check of it.

HPFS needs to load 4 consecutive 512-byte sectors when accessing the
directory nodes or bitmaps. We can't switch to 2048-byte block size
because files are allocated in the units of 512-byte sectors.
Previously, the driver would allocate a 2048-byte area using kmalloc,
copy the data from four buffers to this area and eventually copy them
back if they were modified.
In the current implementation of the buffer cache, buffers are allocated
in the pagecache. That means that 4 consecutive 512-byte buffers are
stored in consecutive areas in the kernel address space. So, we don't
need to allocate extra memory and copy the content of the buffers there.
This patch optimizes the code to avoid copying the buffers. It checks
if the four buffers are stored in contiguous memory - if they are not,
it falls back to allocating a 2048-byte area and copying data there.

Previously, hpfs scanned all bitmaps each time the user asked for free
space using statfs. This patch changes it so that hpfs scans the
bitmaps only once, remembes the free space and on next invocation of
statfs it returns the value instantly.
New versions of wine are hammering on the statfs syscall very heavily,
making some games unplayable when they're stored on hpfs, with load
times in minutes.
This should be backported to the stable kernels because it fixes
user-visible problem (excessive level load times in wine).

Add support for the flexible mmap memory layout (as described in
http://lwn.net/Articles/91829). This is especially very interesting on
parisc since we currently only support 32bit userspace (even with a
64bit Linux kernel).

On Linux, only parisc uses a different value for EWOULDBLOCK which
causes a lot of troubles for applications not checking for both values.
Since the hpux compat is long dead, make EWOULDBLOCK behave the same as
all other architectures.

The stat.h header file is exported to userspace. Some userspace
applications failed to compile due to missing/unknown types, so we
better convert it to use native types only (like it's done on other

The built-in ROM fonts lack many necessary ASCII characters, which is
why it makes sens to prefer the Linux fonts instead if they are
available. This makes consoles on STI graphics cards which are not
supported by the stifb driver (e.g. Visualize FXe) looks much nicer.

there is missing correct mode flag for writeable files. Without

With commit d8d14bd09c ("fs/compat: fix lookup_dcookie() parameter
handling") I changed the type of the len parameter of the
lookup_dcookie() syscall.
However I missed that there was still a stale declaration in
arch/tile/.. which now causes a compile error on tile:

staging pull request to sync up with the wireless api changes that came
in from the networking tree.

Revert commit ef83b0781a "PCI: Remove from bus_list and release
resources in pci_release_dev()" that made some nasty race conditions
become possible. For example, if a Thunderbolt link is unplugged
and then replugged immediately, the pci_release_dev() resulting from
the hot-remove code path may be racing with the hot-add code path
which after that commit causes various kinds of breakage to happen
(up to and including a hard crash of the whole system).
Moreover, the problem that commit ef83b0781a attempted to address
cannot happen any more after commit 8a4c5c329d "PCI: Check parent
kobject in pci_destroy_dev()", because pci_destroy_dev() will now
return immediately if it has already been executed for the given
device.
Note, however, that the invocation of msi_remove_pci_irq_vectors()
removed by commit ef83b0781a from pci_free_resources() along with
the other changes made by it is not added back because of subsequent
code changes depending on that modification.

TI_EDMA fell out of automatically selected options in the multi_v7
defconfig due to a select being removed from the davinci Kconfig entry. So
we need to re-enable explicitly to not regress some platforms.
The rest is just the result of running 'make multi_v7_defconfig + make
savedefconfig' to remove entries that are no longer needed due to changed
dependencies/selects or defaults.

Recent boot farm testing has highlighted some issues with mvebu and
multiplatform kernels. Increase the test coverage so we can discover
these issues earlier.

This patch fixes a bug/typo in the CCI driver kcalloc usage
