The main change this time is the introduction of the drivers/genpd
subsystem that gets split out from drivers/soc to keep common
functionality together. Ulf Hansson is taking over maintainership for
these and is sending a separate pull request with the same commits,
but they are in the soc drivers tree to avoid conflicts against other
soc driver patches.
The SCMI driver subsystem gets an update to version 3.2 of the
specification. There are also updates to memory, reset and other firmware
drivers.
On the soc driver side, the updates are mostly cleanups across a number
of Arm platforms. On driver for loongarch adds power management for DT
based systems, another driver is for HiSilicon's Arm server chips with
their HCCS system health interface.
The remaining updates for the most part add support for additional
hardware in existing drivers or contain minor cleanups. Most of these
are for the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform.

Compatible and clock handling in the Qualcomm SCM driver is cleaned up,
together with a couple stylistic cleanups and transition to mark
exported symbols GPL only.
An abstraction for the RPM subsystem is introduced, to make align the
structure of the SMD and GLINK nodes thereof with the structure when a
remoteproc is involved. This is done to facilitate associating
additional entities with the RPM subsystem.
The qmp_send() API is modified to not expose hardware requirements onto
the client drivers, and then further extended to allow command
formatting directly in the API, to facilitate this typical use case.
In the Qualcomm Command DB driver, NUL characters previously included in
identifiers are dropped from the debugfs, to facilitate scripting.
The thresholds of the BWMON driver are simplified to avoid hard coded
starting values.
The OCMEM driver is updated with some cleanups and fixes, and addition
of MSM8226 support.
PMIC_GLINK gains support for retimer switches, safe mode is selected
when the cable is disconnected from altmode and the same is enabled for
SM8550.
An off-by-one string length check is corrected in the QMI encoder
decoder library.
The RPMh tracepoints are extended to include the state of the request,
to provide needed context in the traced events.
The series from Ulf creating a genpd framework is integrated, to
facilitate the other changes to the cpr, rpmpd and rpmhpd driver.
SDX75 support is added to the rpmhpd driver, and the rpmpd driver is
extended with the same sync_state logic found in the rpmhpd driver.
The socinfo driver gains knowledge about SM4450 and SM7125, the IPQ5019
platform is dropped.
Clock handling in the GSBI driver is cleaned up with the use of
devm_clk_get_enabled().
The list of VMIDs defined for the SCM assign memory interface is
extended.

Here is the "big" set of char/misc and other driver subsystems for
6.4-rc1.
It's pretty big, but due to the removal of pcmcia drivers, almost breaks
even for number of lines added vs. removed, a nice change.
Included in here are:
- removal of unused PCMCIA drivers (finally!)
- Interconnect driver updates and additions
- Lots of IIO driver updates and additions
- MHI driver updates
- Coresight driver updates
- NVMEM driver updates, which required some OF updates
- W1 driver updates and a new maintainer to manage the subsystem
- FPGA driver updates
- New driver subsystem, CDX, for AMD systems
- lots of other small driver updates and additions
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.

Merge tag 'char-misc-6.4-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/char-misc
Pull char/misc drivers updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the "big" set of char/misc and other driver subsystems for
6.4-rc1.
It's pretty big, but due to the removal of pcmcia drivers, almost
breaks even for number of lines added vs. removed, a nice change.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues"

In case the tap delay required by Arasan SDHCI is set to 0, the current
embeddedsw firmware unconditionally writes IOU_SLCR SD_ITAPDLY to 0x100
(SD0_ITAPDLYENA=1, SD0_ITAPDLYSEL=0). Previous behavior was to keep the
IOU_SLCR SD_ITAPDLY set to 0x0. There is some sort of difference in the
behavior between SD0_ITAPDLYENA=1/0 with the same SD0_ITAPDLYSEL=0, even
though the behavior should be identical -- zero delay added to rxclk_in
line. The former breaks HS200 training in low temperature conditions.
Write IOU_SLCR SD_ITAPDLY register to 0 using PM_MMIO_WRITE which seem
to allow unrestricted WRITE access (and PM_MMIO_READ which allows read
access) to the entire address space. This way, it is possible to work
around the defect in IOCTL_SET_SD_TAPDELAY design which does not permit
clearing SDx_ITAPDLYENA bit.
Note that the embeddedsw firmware does not permit clearing the SD_ITAPDLY
SD0_ITAPDLYENA bit, this bit can only ever be set by the firmware and it
is often impossible to update the possibly broken firmware.

rproc-virtio device names are now auto generated, to avoid conflicts
between remoteproc instances.
The imx_rproc driver is extended with support for communicating with and
attaching to a running M4 on i.MX8QXP, as well as support for
attaching to the M4 after self-recovering from a crash. Support is
added for i.MX8QM and mailbox channels are reconnected during the
recovery process, in order to avoid data corruption.
The Xilinx Zynqmp firmware interface is extended and support for the
Xilinx R5 RPU is introduced.
Various resources leaks, primarily in error paths, throughout the
Qualcomm drivers are corrected.
Lastly a fix to ensure that pm_relax is invoked even if the remoteproc
instance is stopped between a crash is being reported and the recovery
handler is scheduled.

Merge tag 'rproc-v6.2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/remoteproc/linux
Pull remoteproc updates from Bjorn Andersson:
"rproc-virtio device names are now auto generated, to avoid conflicts
between remoteproc instances.
The imx_rproc driver is extended with support for communicating with
and attaching to a running M4 on i.MX8QXP, as well as support for
attaching to the M4 after self-recovering from a crash. Support is
added for i.MX8QM and mailbox channels are reconnected during the
recovery process, in order to avoid data corruption.
The Xilinx Zynqmp firmware interface is extended and support for the
Xilinx R5 RPU is introduced.
Various resources leaks, primarily in error paths, throughout the
Qualcomm drivers are corrected.
Lastly a fix to ensure that pm_relax is invoked even if the remoteproc
instance is stopped between a crash is being reported and the recovery
handler is scheduled"

Add shutdown/wakeup a resource eemi operations to shutdown
or bringup a resource.
Note alignment of args matches convention of other fn's in this file.
The reason being that the long fn name results in aligned args that
otherwise go over 80 chars so shift right to avoid this

As diffstat shows, we've had lots of developments in a wide range
at this time; the majority of changes are about ASoC, including
subsystem-wide cleanups, continued SOF / Intel updates and a
bunch of new drivers (as usual), while there have been some
significant (but almost invisible) improvements in ALSA core
side, too. Below are some highlights:
Core:
- Faster lookups of control elements with Xarray; normal user
won't notice, but on the devices with tons of control elements,
it can be visibly faster
- Support for input validation for controls; this will harden
for badly written drivers in general with a slight overhead
- Deferred async signal handling for working around the potential
deadlocks
- Cleanup / refactoring raw MIDI locking code
ASoC:
- Restructing of the set_fmt() callbacks for making things clearer
in situations like CODEC to CODEC links
- Clean up and modernizing the DAI naming scheme setups
- Merge of more of the Intel AVS driver stack, including some
board integrations
- New version 4 mechanism for communication with SOF DSPs
- Suppoort for dynamically selecting the PLL to use at runtime on
i.MX platforms
- Improvements for CODEC to CODEC support in the generic cards
- Support for AMD Jadeite and various machines, AMD RPL, Intel
MetorLake DSPs, Mediatek MT8186 DSPs and MT6366, nVidia Tegra
MDDRC, OPE and PEQ, NXP TFA9890, Qualcomm SDM845, WCD9335 and
WAS883x, and Texas Instruments TAS2780
HD- and USB-audio:
- Continued improvement for CS35L41 (sub)codec support
- More quirks for various devices (HP, Lenovo, Dell, Clevo)

Introduce a new SMC command INTEL_SIP_SMC_FUNCID_SERVICE_COMPLETED
that polls if a previous asynchronous command was completed. This
SMC command is used by the new FPGA Crypto Service (FCS).
A basic example is that the FCS sends an AES data encryption
call to the secure device manager(SDM) and waits for the completion
of the operation by continuously polling the results with the new
command.

Extend Intel service layer driver to support FPGA Crypto service(FCS)
features on Intel Soc platforms. Adding an additional channel and FCS
platform driver ("intel_fcs") as part of the probe method.
FCS driver uses the driver to send crypto operations' commands to
the secure device manager(SDM) on Intel Soc platforms Stratix10 and
Agilex.

SGI interrupt register and reset is performed by EEMI ioctl
IOCTL_REGISTER_SGI. However, this is not correct use of EEMI call.
SGI registration functionality does not qualify as energy management
activity and so shouldn't be mapped to EEMI call.
This new call will replace IOCTL_REGISTER_SGI and will be handled by TF-A
specific handler in TF-A. To maintain backward compatibility for a while
firmware driver will still use IOCTL_REGISTER_SGI as fallback strategy if
new call fails or is not supported by TF-A.
This new design also helps to make TF-A as pass through layer for EEMI
calls. So we don't have to maintain PM_IOCTL as EEMI API ID in TF-A.

Here is the large set of char, misc, and other driver subsystem updates
for 5.19-rc1. The merge request for this has been delayed as I wanted
to get lots of linux-next testing due to some late arrivals of changes
for the habannalabs driver.
Highlights of this merge are:
- habanalabs driver updates for new hardware types and fixes and
other updates
- IIO driver tree merge which includes loads of new IIO drivers
and cleanups and additions
- PHY driver tree merge with new drivers and small updates to
existing ones
- interconnect driver tree merge with fixes and updates
- soundwire driver tree merge with some small fixes
- coresight driver tree merge with small fixes and updates
- mhi bus driver tree merge with lots of updates and new device
support
- firmware driver updates
- fpga driver updates
- lkdtm driver updates (with a merge conflict, more on that
below)
- extcon driver tree merge with small updates
- lots of other tiny driver updates and fixes and cleanups, full
details in the shortlog.
All of these have been in linux-next for almost 2 weeks with no reported
problems.
Note, there are 3 merge conflicts when merging this with your tree:
- MAINTAINERS, should be easy to resolve
- drivers/slimbus/qcom-ctrl.c, should be straightforward
resolution
- drivers/misc/lkdtm/stackleak.c, not an easy resolution. This
has been noted in the linux-next tree for a while, and
resolved there, here's a link to the resolution that Stephen
came up with and that Kees says is correct:
https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220509185344.3fe1a354@canb.auug.org.au
I will be glad to provide a merge point that contains these resolutions
if that makes things any easier for you.

As per the current implementation only single callback data gets saved per
event, driver is throwing an error if try to register multiple callback for
same event. So at time of unregistration of any event required things are
event details and callback handler as parameter of xlnx_unregister_event().
As part of adding support of multiple callbacks for same event also require
change in prototype of xlnx_unregister_event().
During unregistration of any events, now required things are event details,
callback handler and agent's private data as parameter of
xlnx_unregister_event().
Also modify the usage of xlnx_unregister_event() in xilinx/zynqmp_power.c
driver as per new implementation.

Some of mediatek processors contain
the Tensilica HiFix DSP for audio processing.
The communication between Host CPU and DSP firmware is
taking place using a shared memory area for message passing.
ADSP IPC protocol offers (send/recv) interfaces using
mediatek-mailbox APIs.
We use two mbox channels to implement a request-reply protocol.

Change the order of members in struct cs_dsp_coeff_ctl to avoid
the compiler having to insert alignment padding bytes. On a x86_64
build this saves 16 bytes per control.
- Pointers are collected to the top of the struct (with the exception of
priv, as noted below), so that they are inherently aligned.
- The set and enable bitflags are placed together so they can be merged.
- priv is placed at the end of the struct - it is for use by the
client so it is helpful to make it stand out, and since the compiler
will always pad the struct size to an alignment multiple putting a
pointer last won't introduce any more padding.
- struct cs_dsp_alg_region is placed at the end, right before priv, for
the same reasoning as priv.
