4d8fdc95c6 tg3: Modify tg3_tso_bug() to handle multiple TX rings
tg3_tso_bug() was originally designed to handle only HW TX ring 0, Commit
d3f6f3a1d8 ("tg3: Prevent page allocation failure
during TSO workaround") changed the driver logic to use tg3_tso_bug() for all
HW TX rings that are enabled. This patch fixes the regression by modifying
tg3_tso_bug() to handle multiple HW TX rings.

1c3c1e7996 net: bcmgenet: fix bcmgenet_wol_resume
bcmgenet_wol_resume() will create an unbalanced clock state for the
wol_clk clock pointer since everywhere else in the code, we always call
clk_prepare_enable() and clk_disable_unprepare(). This function also
calls init_umac() which is neither correct nor necessary since
bcmgenet_resume() and bcmgenet_open() already does that.

Finally calling bcmgenet_wol_resume() in bcmgenet_open() is not correct,
since the interface would not have been able to put us in Wake-on-LAN
mode if it was not UP before.

412bce83ac net: systemport: fix UniMAC reset logic
The UniMAC CMD_SW_RESET bit is not a self-clearing bit, so we need to
assert it, wait a bit and clear it manually. As a result, umac_reset()

simply wrote 0 to the CMD register, which would make the busy-waiting

By writing 0 to the CMD register, we were clearing all bits in the CMD

ebf457f931 bnx2x: Fail probe of VFs using an old incompatible driver
There are linux distributions where the inbox bnx2x driver contains SRIOV
support but doesn't contain the changes introduced in b9871bcf
"bnx2x: VF RSS support - PF side".

A VF in a VM running that distribution over a new hypervisor will access
incorrect addresses when trying to transmit packets, causing an attention
in the hypervisor and making that VF inactive until FLRed.

The driver in the VM has to ne upgraded [no real way to overcome this], but
due to the HW attention currently arising upgrading the driver in the VM
would not suffice [since the VF needs also be FLRed if the previous driver
was already loaded].

This patch causes the PF to fail the acquire message from a VF running an
old problematic driver; The VF will then gracefully fail it's probe preventing
the HW attention [and allow clean upgrade of driver in VM].

66c965f5e1 tg3: Change nvram command timeout value to 50ms
Commit 506724c463 "tg3: Override clock,
link aware and link idle mode during NVRAM dump" changed the timeout
value for nvram command execution from 100ms to 1ms. But the 1ms
timeout value was only sufficient for nvram read operations but not
write operations for most of the devices supported by tg3 driver.
This patch sets the MAX to 50ms. Also it uses usleep_range instead
of udelay.

40c1deaf6c tg3: Clear NETIF_F_TSO6 flag before doing software GSO
Commit d3f6f3a1d8 ("tg3: Prevent page
allocation failure during TSO workaround") modified driver logic
to use tg3_tso_bug() for any TSO fragment that hits hardware bug
conditions thus the patch increased the scope of work for tg3_tso_bug()
to cover devices that support NETIF_F_TSO6 as well. Prior to the
patch, tg3_tso_bug() would only be used on devices supporting
NETIF_F_TSO.

A regression was introduced for IPv6 packets requiring the workaround.
To properly perform GSO on SKBs with TCPV6 gso_type, we need to call
skb_gso_segment() with NETIF_F_TSO6 feature flag cleared, or the
function will return NULL and cause a kernel oops as tg3 is not handling
a NULL return value. This patch fixes the problem.

f2cfa997ef bnx2x: Enlarge the dorq threshold for VFs
A malicious VF might try to starve the other VFs & PF by creating
contineous doorbell floods. In order to negate this, HW has a threshold of
doorbells per client, which will stop the client doorbells from arriving
if crossed.

The threshold currently configured for VFs is too low - under extreme traffic
scenarios, it's possible for a VF to reach the threshold and thus for its
fastpath to stop working.

9aaae044ab bnx2x: Fix kernel crash and data miscompare after EEH recovery
A rmb() is required to ensure that the CQE is not read before it

the other fields are written before the marker at the end of struct

1. Missing validation of reserved parameters
2. Vague documentation
3. Use of unnamed magic number
4. No consolidation with existing driver operations

combinations of operations and sizes, together with (a) Debian's ethtool

ed616689a3 net-next:v4: Add support to configure SR-IOV VF minimum and maximum Tx rate through ip tool.
o min_tx_rate puts lower limit on the VF bandwidth. VF is guaranteed
to have a bandwidth of at least this value.
max_tx_rate puts cap on the VF bandwidth. VF can have a bandwidth
  of up to this value.

o A new handler set_vf_rate for attr IFLA_VF_RATE has been introduced
  which takes 4 arguments:
  netdev, VF number, min_tx_rate, max_tx_rate

o ndo_set_vf_rate replaces ndo_set_vf_tx_rate handler.

o Drivers that currently implement ndo_set_vf_tx_rate should now call
ndo_set_vf_rate instead and reject attempt to set a minimum bandwidth
greater than 0 for IFLA_VF_TX_RATE when IFLA_VF_RATE is not yet
  implemented by driver.

o If user enters only one of either min_tx_rate or max_tx_rate, then,
userland should read back the other value from driver and set both
  for IFLA_VF_RATE.
Drivers that have not yet implemented IFLA_VF_RATE should always
return min_tx_rate as 0 when read from ip tool.

o If both IFLA_VF_TX_RATE and IFLA_VF_RATE options are specified, then

1a3d94240b bnx2x: Fix vlan credit issues for VFs
Starting with commit 2dc33bbc "bnx2x: Remove the sriov VFOP mechanism",
the bnx2x started enforcing vlan credits for all vlan configurations.
This exposed 2 issues:
  - Vlan credits are not returned once a VF is removed; this causes a leak
of credits, and eventually will lead to VFs with no vlan credits.
  - A vlan credit must be set aside for the Hypervisor to use, and should
not be visible to the VF.

Although linux VFs at the moment do not support vlan configuration [from the
VF side] which causes them to be resilient to this sort of issue, Windows VF
over linux hypervisors might fail to load as the vlan credits become depleted.

370d4a2659 bnx2x: Create workqueue for IOV related tasks
The bnx2x sriov mechanisms were done in the bnx2x slowpath workitem which
runs on the bnx2x's workqueue; This workitem is also responsible for the bottom
half of interrupt handling in the driver, and specifically it also receives
FW notifications of ramrod completions, allowing other flows to progress.

The original design of the sriov reltaed-flows was based on the notion such
flows must not sleep, since their context is the slowpath workitem.
Otherwise, we might reach timeouts - those flows may wait for ramrod completion
that will never arrive as the workitem wlll not be re-scheduled until that same
flow will be over.

In more recent time bnx2x started supporting features in which the VF interface
can be configured by the tools accessing the PF on the hypervisor.
This support created possible races on the VF-PF lock (which is taken either
when the PF is handling a VF message or when the PF is doing some slowpath work
on behalf of the VF) which may cause timeouts on the VF side and lags on the PF
side.

This patch changes the scheme - it creates a new workqueue for sriov related
tasks and moves all handling currently done in the slowpath task into the the
new workqueue.

4986b4f008 ptp: drivers: set the number of programmable pins.
This patch updates the many PTP Hardware Clock drivers with the
newly introduced field that advertises the number of programmable
pins. Some of these devices do have programmable pins, but the
implementation will have to wait for follow on patches.

The bnx2/bnx2x rings are made up of linked pages. However there is an

The pci shutdown handler added in:

    bnx2: Add pci shutdown handler
    commit 25bfb1dd4b

created a shutdown down sequence without chip reset if the device was

prematurely and cause MMIO read cycles to be unresponsive. On some
systems, it may generate NMI in the bnx2's pci shutdown handler.

99932d4fc0 netdevice: add queue selection fallback handler for ndo_select_queue
Add a new argument for ndo_select_queue() callback that passes a
fallback handler. This gets invoked through netdev_pick_tx();
fallback handler is currently __netdev_pick_tx() as most drivers
invoke this function within their customized implementation in
case for skbs that don't need any special handling. This fallback
handler can then be replaced on other call-sites with different
queue selection methods (e.g. in packet sockets, pktgen etc).

This also has the nice side-effect that __netdev_pick_tx() is
then only invoked from netdev_pick_tx() and export of that
function to modules can be undone.

c6993dfd7d tg3: Fix deadlock in tg3_change_mtu()
Quoting David Vrabel -
"5780 cards cannot have jumbo frames and TSO enabled together. When
jumbo frames are enabled by setting the MTU, the TSO feature must be
cleared. This is done indirectly by calling netdev_update_features()
which will call tg3_fix_features() to actually clear the flags.

netdev_update_features() will also trigger a new netlink message for the
feature change event which will result in a call to tg3_get_stats64()
which deadlocks on the tg3 lock."

tg3_set_mtu() does not need to be under the tg3 lock since converting
the flags to use set_bit(). Move it out to after tg3_netif_stop().

Submission d9aee59 "bnx2x: Don't release PCI bars on shutdown" separated

d9aee591b0 bnx2x: Don't release PCI bars on shutdown
The bnx2x driver in its pci shutdown() callback releases its pci bars (in the
same manner it does during its pci remove() callback).
During a system reboot while VFs are enabled, its possible for the VF's remove
to be called (as a result of pci_disable_sriov()) after its shutdown callback
has already finished running; This will cause a paging request fault as the VF
tries to access the pci bar which it has previously released, crashing the
system.

This patch further differentiates the shutdown and remove callbacks, preventing the
pci release procedures from being called during shutdown.

f663dd9aaf net: core: explicitly select a txq before doing l2 forwarding
Currently, the tx queue were selected implicitly in ndo_dfwd_start_xmit(). The
will cause several issues:

- NETIF_F_LLTX were removed for macvlan, so txq lock were done for macvlan
instead of lower device which misses the necessary txq synchronization for
lower device such as txq stopping or frozen required by dev watchdog or
  control path.
- dev_hard_start_xmit() was called with NULL txq which bypasses the net device
  watchdog.
- dev_hard_start_xmit() does not check txq everywhere which will lead a crash
when tso is disabled for lower device.

Fix this by explicitly introducing a new param for .ndo_select_queue() for just
selecting queues in the case of l2 forwarding offload. netdev_pick_tx() was also
extended to accept this parameter and dev_queue_xmit_accel() was used to do l2
forwarding transmission.

With this fixes, NETIF_F_LLTX could be preserved for macvlan and there's no need
to check txq against NULL in dev_hard_start_xmit(). Also there's no need to keep
a dedicated ndo_dfwd_start_xmit() and we can just reuse the code of
dev_queue_xmit() to do the transmission.

In the future, it was also required for macvtap l2 forwarding support since it
provides a necessary synchronization method.

86f4ea63e6 b44: add phylib support
Most of the older home routers based on the Broadcom BCM47XX SoC series
are using a MAC that is supported by b44. On most of these routers not
the internal PHY of this MAC core is used, but a switch sometimes on an
external chip or integrated into the same SoC as the Ethernet core.
For this switch a special PHY driver is needed which should not be
integrated into b44 as the same switches are also used by other
Broadcom home networking SoCs which are using different Ethernet MAC
drivers. This was tested with the b53 switch driver which is currently
on its way to mainline.

If the internal PHY is not used, b44 will now search on the MDIO bus
for a phy and use the Linux phylib subsystem to register a driver.
Support for the internal PHY must stay here, because there are some
device which are suing the internal phy.

With this patch we scan the mdio bus when the sprom or nvram says that
the PHY address is 30, if a PHY was found at this address b44 uses it.

This was tested with a BCM4704, BCM4712 and BCM5354.

d61941952d b44: check register instead of PHY address to detect external PHY
The Ethernet core supported by b44 supports an internal PHY integrated
into the mac core, which is supported by the b44 driver and an external
PHY to which the mac core is connected. This external PHY could be a
switch connected through MII, which is often the case when this core is
used on home routers. The usage of an external PHY was assumed when the
PHY address 30 was used and an internal PHY was assumed when the PHY
address was different. To verify that b44_phy_reset() was called and
checked if it worked, otherwise PHY address 30 was assumed, an external
PHY. It is better to check the register which says which PHY is
connected to the MAC instead of checking the PHY address.
The interface to an external PHY was only activated when this register
was set.

This also changes B44_FLAG_INTERNAL_PHY to B44_FLAG_EXTERNAL_PHY, it is
easier to check.

8496e85c20 PCI / tg3: Give up chip reset and carrier loss handling if PCI device is not present
Modify tg3_chip_reset() and tg3_close() to check if the PCI network
adapter device is accessible at all in order to skip poking it or
trying to handle a carrier loss in vain when that's not the case.
Introduce a special PCI helper function pci_device_is_present()
for this purpose.

Of course, this uncovers the lack of the appropriate RTNL locking
in tg3_suspend() and tg3_resume(), so add that locking in there
too.

These changes prevent tg3 from burning a CPU at 100% load level for
solid several seconds after the Thunderbolt link is disconnected from

1ee2dcc224 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Pull networking fixes from David Miller:
"Mostly these are fixes for fallout due to merge window changes, as
well as cures for problems that have been with us for a much longer
  period of time"

 1) Johannes Berg noticed two major deficiencies in our genetlink
registration. Some genetlink protocols we passing in constant
counts for their ops array rather than something like
ARRAY_SIZE(ops) or similar. Also, some genetlink protocols were
using fixed IDs for their multicast groups.

We have to retain these fixed IDs to keep existing userland tools
working, but reserve them so that other multicast groups used by
other protocols can not possibly conflict.

In dealing with these two problems, we actually now use less state
management for genetlink operations and multicast groups.

 2) When configuring interface hardware timestamping, fix several
drivers that simply do not validate that the hwtstamp_config value
is one the driver actually supports. From Ben Hutchings.

 3) Invalid memory references in mwifiex driver, from Amitkumar Karwar.

 4) In dev_forward_skb(), set the skb->protocol in the right order
relative to skb_scrub_packet(). From Alexei Starovoitov.

 5) Bridge erroneously fails to use the proper wrapper functions to make
calls to netdev_ops->ndo_vlan_rx_{add,kill}_vid. Fix from Toshiaki
    Makita.

 6) When detaching a bridge port, make sure to flush all VLAN IDs to
prevent them from leaking, also from Toshiaki Makita.

 7) Put in a compromise for TCP Small Queues so that deep queued devices
that delay TX reclaim non-trivially don't have such a performance
decrease. One particularly problematic area is 802.11 AMPDU in
    wireless. From Eric Dumazet.

 8) Fix crashes in tcp_fastopen_cache_get(), we can see NULL socket dsts
here. Fix from Eric Dumzaet, reported by Dave Jones.

 9) Fix use after free in ipv6 SIT driver, from Willem de Bruijn.

10) When computing mergeable buffer sizes, virtio-net fails to take the
virtio-net header into account. From Michael Dalton.

11) Fix seqlock deadlock in ip4_datagram_connect() wrt. statistic
bumping, this one has been with us for a while. From Eric Dumazet.

12) Fix NULL deref in the new TIPC fragmentation handling, from Erik
    Hugne.

    Rissanen.

14) macvlan has the same issue as normal vlans did wrt. propagating LRO
disabling down to the real device, fix it the same way. From Michal
    Kubecek.

    Daniel Mack.

16) Fix small frame pacing in FQ packet scheduler, from Eric Dumazet.

17) The xen-netfront RX buffer refill timer isn't properly scheduled on
partial RX allocation success, from Ma JieYue.

18) When ipv6 ping protocol support was added, the AF_INET6 protocol
initialization cleanup path on failure was borked a little. Fix
    from Vlad Yasevich.

19) If a socket disconnects during a read/recvmsg/recvfrom/etc that
blocks we can do the wrong thing with the msg_name we write back to
userspace. From Hannes Frederic Sowa. There is another fix in the
works from Hannes which will prevent future problems of this nature.

ffa1cb967f bnx2x: prevent CFC attention
During VF load, prior to sending messages on HW channel to PF the VF
checks its bulletin board to see whether the PF indicated it has closed;
If a closed PF is encountered, the VF skips sending the message.

Due to incorrect return values, there's a possible scenario in which the VF
finishes loading "successfully", while the PF hasn't actually fully configured
FW/HW for the VFs supposed configuration.
Once VF tries to send Tx packets, HW will raise an attention (and FW possibly
will start treat the VF as malicious).

The patch fails the loading process in such a scenario.

If chip enters a recovery flow just after the driver issues a DMAE request
the DMAE will timeout. Current code will cause a bnx2x_panic() as a result,

8ceafbfa91 Merge branch 'for-linus-dma-masks' of git://git.linaro.org/people/rmk/linux-arm
Pull DMA mask updates from Russell King:
"This series cleans up the handling of DMA masks in a lot of drivers,
fixing some bugs as we go.

Some of the more serious errors include:
   - drivers which only set their coherent DMA mask if the attempt to
     set the streaming mask fails.
   - drivers which test for a NULL dma mask pointer, and then set the
dma mask pointer to a location in their module .data section -
which will cause problems if the module is reloaded.

To counter these, I have introduced two helper functions:
   - dma_set_mask_and_coherent() takes care of setting both the
streaming and coherent masks at the same time, with the correct
error handling as specified by the API.
   - dma_coerce_mask_and_coherent() which resolves the problem of
drivers forcefully setting DMA masks. This is more a marker for
future work to further clean these locations up - the code which
creates the devices really should be initialising these, but to fix
that in one go along with this change could potentially be very
     disruptive.

The last thing this series does is prise away some of Linux's addition
to "DMA addresses are physical addresses and RAM always starts at
zero". We have ARM LPAE systems where all system memory is above 4GB
physical, hence having DMA masks interpreted by (eg) the block layers
as describing physical addresses in the range 0..DMAMASK fails on
these platforms. Santosh Shilimkar addresses this in this series; the
patches were copied to the appropriate people multiple times but were
  ignored.

Fixing this also gets rid of some ARM weirdness in the setup of the
max*pfn variables, and brings ARM into line with every other Linux
architecture as far as those go"

Linus Torvalds
42a2d923cc Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next
Pull networking updates from David Miller:

 1) The addition of nftables. No longer will we need protocol aware
firewall filtering modules, it can all live in userspace.

At the core of nftables is a, for lack of a better term, virtual
machine that executes byte codes to inspect packet or metadata
(arriving interface index, etc.) and make verdict decisions.

Besides support for loading packet contents and comparing them, the
interpreter supports lookups in various datastructures as
fundamental operations. For example sets are supports, and
therefore one could create a set of whitelist IP address entries
which have ACCEPT verdicts attached to them, and use the appropriate
byte codes to do such lookups.

Since the interpreted code is composed in userspace, userspace can
do things like optimize things before giving it to the kernel.

Another major improvement is the capability of atomically updating
portions of the ruleset. In the existing netfilter implementation,
one has to update the entire rule set in order to make a change and
    this is very expensive.

Userspace tools exist to create nftables rules using existing
netfilter rule sets, but both kernel implementations will need to
co-exist for quite some time as we transition from the old to the
    new stuff.

Kudos to Patrick McHardy, Pablo Neira Ayuso, and others who have
    worked so hard on this.

 2) Daniel Borkmann and Hannes Frederic Sowa made several improvements
to our pseudo-random number generator, mostly used for things like
UDP port randomization and netfitler, amongst other things.

In particular the taus88 generater is updated to taus113, and test
    cases are added.

 3) Support 64-bit rates in HTB and TBF schedulers, from Eric Dumazet
    and Yang Yingliang.

 4) Add support for new 577xx tigon3 chips to tg3 driver, from Nithin
    Sujir.

 5) Fix two fatal flaws in TCP dynamic right sizing, from Eric Dumazet,
    Neal Cardwell, and Yuchung Cheng.

 6) Allow IP_TOS and IP_TTL to be specified in sendmsg() ancillary
control message data, much like other socket option attributes.
    From Francesco Fusco.

 7) Allow applications to specify a cap on the rate computed
automatically by the kernel for pacing flows, via a new
SO_MAX_PACING_RATE socket option. From Eric Dumazet.

 8) Make the initial autotuned send buffer sizing in TCP more closely
reflect actual needs, from Eric Dumazet.

 9) Currently early socket demux only happens for TCP sockets, but we
can do it for connected UDP sockets too. Implementation from Shawn
    Bohrer.

10) Refactor inet socket demux with the goal of improving hash demux
performance for listening sockets. With the main goals being able
to use RCU lookups on even request sockets, and eliminating the
listening lock contention. From Eric Dumazet.

11) The bonding layer has many demuxes in it's fast path, and an RCU
conversion was started back in 3.11, several changes here extend the
RCU usage to even more locations. From Ding Tianhong and Wang
Yufen, based upon suggestions by Nikolay Aleksandrov and Veaceslav
    Falico.

12) Allow stackability of segmentation offloads to, in particular, allow
segmentation offloading over tunnels. From Eric Dumazet.

13) Significantly improve the handling of secret keys we input into the
various hash functions in the inet hashtables, TCP fast open, as
well as syncookies. From Hannes Frederic Sowa. The key fundamental
operation is "net_get_random_once()" which uses static keys.

Hannes even extended this to ipv4/ipv6 fragmentation handling and
    our generic flow dissector.

14) The generic driver layer takes care now to set the driver data to
NULL on device removal, so it's no longer necessary for drivers to
explicitly set it to NULL any more. Many drivers have been cleaned
up in this way, from Jingoo Han.

15) Add a BPF based packet scheduler classifier, from Daniel Borkmann.

16) Improve CRC32 interfaces and generic SKB checksum iterators so that
SCTP's checksumming can more cleanly be handled. Also from Daniel
    Borkmann.

17) Add a new PMTU discovery mode, IP_PMTUDISC_INTERFACE, which forces
using the interface MTU value. This helps avoid PMTU attacks,
particularly on DNS servers. From Hannes Frederic Sowa.

18) Use generic XPS for transmit queue steering rather than internal
(re-)implementation in virtio-net. From Jason Wang.

826cb7b43b bnx2x: Disable VF access on PF removal
When the bnx2x driver is rmmoded, if VFs of a given PF will be assigned
to a VM then that PF will be unable to call `pci_disable_sriov()'.

If for that same PF there would also exist unassigned VFs in the hypervisor,
the result will be that after the removal there will still be virtual PCI
functions on the hypervisor.
If the bnx2x module were to be re-inserted, the result will be that the VFs
on the hypervisor will be re-probed directly following the PF's probe, even
though that in regular loading flow sriov is only enabled once PF is loaded.
The probed VF will then try to access its bar, causing a PCI error as the HW
is not in a state enabling such a request.

This patch adds a missing disablement procedure to the PF's removal, one that
sets registers viewable to the VF to indicate that the VFs have no permission
to access the bar, thus resulting in probe errors instead of PCI errors.

e3ed4eaef4 bnx2x: prevent FW assert on low mem during unload
Buffers for FW statistics were allocated at an inappropriate time; In a machine
where the driver encounters problems allocating all of its queues, the driver
would still create FW requests for the statistics of the non-existing queues.
The wrong order of memory allocation could lead to zeroed statistics messages
being sent, leading to fw assert in case function 0 was down.

This changes the order of allocations, guaranteeing that statistic requests will
only be generated for actual queues.

4293b9f57a bnx2x: Don't pretend during register dump
As part of a register dump, the interface pretends to have the identity
of other interfaces of the same physical device in order to perform
HW configuration for them - specifically, it needs to prevent attentions
from generating on those functions as the register dump accesses registers
in common blocks which whose reading might generate an attention.

However, such pretension is unsafe - unlike other flows in which the driver
uses pretend, during register dump there is no guarantee no other HW access
will take place (by other flows). If such access will take place, the HW will
be accessed by the wrong interface, and leave both functions in an incorrect
state.

This patch removes all pretensions from the register dump flow. Instead, it
changes initial configuration of attentions such that no fatal attention will
be generated for other functions as a result of the register dump
(notice however, a debug print claiming an attention from other functions IS
possible during the register dump)

32316a46f2 bnx2x: Lock DMAE when used by statistic flow
bnx2x has several clients to its DMAE machines - all of them with the exception
of the statistics flow used the same locking mechanisms to synchronize the DMAE
machines' usage.

Since statistics (which are periodically entered) use DMAE without taking the
locks, they may erase the commands which were previously set -
e.g., it may cause a VF to timeout while waiting for a PF answer on the VF-PF
channel as that command header would have been overwritten by the statistics'
header.

This patch makes certain that all flows utilizing DMAE will use the same
API, assuring that the locking scheme will be kept by all said flows.

1a6974b2c7 bnx2x: Prevent an illegal pointer dereference during panic
During a panic, the driver tries to print the Management FW buffer of recent
commands. To do so, the driver reads the address of that buffer from a known
address. If the buffer is unavailable (e.g., PCI reads don't work, MCP is
failing, etc.), the driver will try to access the address it has read, possibly
causing a kernel panic.

This check 'sanitizes' the access, validating the read value is indeed a valid
address inside the management FW's buffers.
The patch also removes a read outside the scope of the buffer, which resulted
in some unrelated chraracters appearing in the log.

cbbf77de64 bnx2x: handle known but unsupported VF messages
Commit b9871bcf "bnx2x: VF RSS support - PF side" has deprecated one of

0a5ccb759d bnx2x: prevent masked MCP parities from appearing
During flows which mask block attentions (e.g., register dump) all parities
are masked. However, unlike other blocks the MCP's attention is not masked
inside the block but rather the indication to the driver. If another attention
(e.g., link change) will occour while there's an MCP parity, the driver will
ignore the fact that the parity is masked and erroneously report a parity.

This patch forces the driver to read the MCP masking while checking for
parities.

Previously, in case of KR link down, the driver would reset the PHY and restart
auto negotiation only when old Warpcore microcode was used (below D108).
This patch comes to generalize this by keep trying to restart KR link,

issue which source is a link-partner. As part of this change, the signal
detect is no longer a condition to apply the work-around to cover this new case.

48a3056973 cnic: Fix crash in cnic_bnx2x_service_kcq()
commit 104a43edb2
cnic: Use CHIP_NUM macros from bnx2x.h

changed the code to use the bnx2x macro NO_FCOE() to determine if FCoE
is supported or not. There is another place in cnic that is still using
the old method to determine if FCoE is supported or not. The 2 methods
may not yield the same result after the network interface is brought down
and up. This will cause the crash as cnic_bnx2x_service_kcq() will access
the uninitialized cp->kcq2.

The fix is to consistently use the same macro CNIC_SUPPORTS_FCOE() which
uses the bnx2x NO_FCOE() macro. As a follow-up, we can clean up the code
to remove the old method as it is no longer needed.

996dedbafe bnx2x: avoid atomic allocations during initialization
During initialization bnx2x allocates significant amounts of memory
(for rx data, rx SGEs, TPA pool) using atomic allocations.

I received a report where bnx2x failed to allocate SGEs and it had
to fall back to TPA-less operation.

Let's use GFP_KERNEL allocations during initialization, which runs
in process context. Add gfp_t parameters to functions that are used
both in initialization and in the receive path.

Use an unlikely branch in bnx2x_frag_alloc() to avoid atomic allocation
by netdev_alloc_frag(). The branch is taken several thousands of times
during initialization, but then never more. Note that fp->rx_frag_size
is never greater than PAGE_SIZE, so __get_free_page() can be used here.

1) sit.c changes overlap with change to ip_tunnel_xmit() signature.

Turning off led on port 0 of the 5719 serdes causes all other ports to
lose power and stop functioning. Add tg3_phy_led_bug() function to check
for this condition. We use a switch() in tg3_phy_led_bug() for
consistency with the tg3_phy_power_bug() function.

ede23fa816 drivers:net: Convert dma_alloc_coherent(...__GFP_ZERO) to dma_zalloc_coherent
__GFP_ZERO is an uncommon flag and perhaps is better
not used. static inline dma_zalloc_coherent exists
so convert the uses of dma_alloc_coherent with __GFP_ZERO
to the more common kernel style with zalloc.

Remove memset from the static inline dma_zalloc_coherent
and add just one use of __GFP_ZERO instead.

Trivially reduces the size of the existing uses of
dma_zalloc_coherent.

Realign arguments as appropriate.

34d5626afc bnx2x: Fix move FP memory deallocations
If driver will fail to allocate all queues, it will shrink the number of
queues and move the storage queue to its correct place (i.e., the last
queue among the newly supported number).

When changing the pointers of the new location of the FCoE queue, we need
to pay special attention to the aggregations pointer - that memory is allocated
during probe and released upon driver removal. Current implementation has 2
pointers pointing to the same chunk of allocated memory, meaning upon removal
there will be two kfree() of the same chunk while the other won't be released.
