Looking closer at the problem, it looks like a classic dangling pointer
bug. The 'struct mmc_blk_data' that is used after being freed in
mmc_blk_put() is stashed away in 'md->disk->private_data' via
mmc_blk_alloc_req() but used in mmc_blk_get() because the 'usage' count
isn't properly aligned with the lifetime of the pointer. You'd expect
the 'usage' member to be in sync with the kfree(), and it mostly is,
except that mmc_blk_get() needs to dereference the potentially freed
memory storage for the 'struct mmc_blk_data' stashed away in the
private_data member to look at 'usage' before it actually figures out if
it wants to consider it a valid pointer or not. That's not going to work
if the freed memory has been overwritten by something else after the
free, and KASAN rightly complains here.
To fix the immediate problem, let's set the private_data member to NULL
in mmc_blk_put() so that mmc_blk_get() can consider the object "on the
way out" if the pointer is NULL and not even try to look at 'usage' if
the object isn't going to be around much longer. With that set to NULL
on the last mmc_blk_put(), optimize the get path further and use a kref
underneath the 'open_lock' mutex to only up the reference count if it's
non-zero, i.e. alive, and otherwise make mmc_blk_get() return NULL,
without actually testing the reference count if we're in the process of
removing the object from the system.
Finally, tighten the locking region on the put side to only be around
the parts that are removing the 'mmc_blk_data' from the system and
publishing that fact to the gendisk and then drop the lock as soon as we
can to avoid holding the lock around code that doesn't need it. This
fixes the KASAN issue.

When an eMMC device is being run in HS400 mode, any access to the
RPMB device will cause the error message "mmc1: Invalid UHS-I mode
selected". This happens as a result of tuning being disabled before
RPMB access and then re-enabled after the RPMB access is complete.
When tuning is re-enabled, the system has to switch from HS400
to HS200 to do the tuning and then back to HS400. As part of
sequence to switch from HS400 to HS200 the system is temporarily
put into HS mode. When switching to HS mode, sdhci_get_preset_value()
is called and does not have support for HS mode and prints the warning
message and returns the preset for SDR12. The fix is to add support
for MMC and SD HS modes to sdhci_get_preset_value().
This can be reproduced on any system running eMMC in HS400 mode
(not HS400ES) by using the "mmc" utility to run the following
command: "mmc rpmb read-counter /dev/mmcblk0rpmb".

that's just a bunch of data so the diffstat reflects that. Looking beyond that
there's just a bunch of updates all around in various clk drivers. Renesas and
NXP (for i.MX) are two SoC vendors that have a lot of patches in here. Overall
the driver changes look to be mostly enabling more clks and non-critical fixes
that we could hold until the next merge window.
I'm especially excited about the series from Arnd that graduates clkdev to be
the only implementation of clk_get() and clk_put(). That's a good step in the
right direction to migreate eveerything over to the common clk framework. Now
we don't have to worry about clkdev specific details, they're just part of the
clk API now.
Core:
- clkdev is now the only option, i.e. clk_get()/clk_put() is implemented in
only one place in the kernel instead of in drivers/clk/clkdev.c and in
architectures that want their own implementation
New Drivers:
- Texas Instruments' LMK04832 Ultra Low-Noise JESD204B Compliant Clock
Jitter Cleaner With Dual Loop PLLs
- Qualcomm MDM9607 GCC
- Qualcomm SC8180X display clks
- Qualcomm SM6125 GCC
- Qualcomm SM8250 CAMCC (camera)
- Renesas RZ/G2L SoC
- Hisilicon hi3559A SoC
Updates:
- Stop using clock-output-names in ST clk drivers (yay!)
- Support secure mode of STM32MP1 SoCs
- Improve clock support for Actions S500 SoC
- duty cycle setting support on qcom clks
- Add TI am33xx spread spectrum clock support
- Use determine_rate() for the Amlogic pll ops instead of round_rate()
- Restrict Amlogic gp0/1 and audio plls range on g12a/sm1
- Improve Amlogic axg-audio controller error on deferral
- Add NNA clocks on Amlogic g12a
- Reduce memory footprint of Rockchip PLL rate tables
- A fix for the newly added Rockchip rk3568 clk driver
- Exported clock for the newly added Rockchip video decoder
- Remove audio ipg clock from i.MX8MP
- Remove deprecated legacy clock binding for i.MX SCU clock driver
- Use common clk-imx8qxp for both i.MX8QXP and i.MX8QM
- Add multiple clocks to clk-imx8qxp driver (enet, hdmi, lcdif, audio,
parallel interface)
- Add dedicated clock ops for i.MX paralel interface
- Different fixes for clocks controlled by ATF on i.MX SoCs
- Add A53/A72 frequency scaling support i.MX clk-scu driver
- Add special case for DCSS clock on suspend for i.MX clk-scu driver
- Add parent save/restore on suspend/resume to i.MX clk-scu driver
- Skip runtime PM enablement for CPU clocks in i.MX clk-scu driver
- Remove the sys1_pll/sys2_pll clock gates for i.MX8MQ and their
bindings
- Tegra clk driver no longer deasserts resets on clk_enable as it
gets in the way of certain power-up sequences
- Fix compile testing for Tegra clk driver
- One patch to fix a divider on the Allwinner v3s Audio PLL
- Add support for CPU core clock boost modes on Renesas R-Car Gen3
- Add ISPCS (Image Signal Processor) clocks on Renesas R-Car V3U
- Switch SH/R-Mobile and R-Car "DIV6" clocks to .determine_rate()
and improve support for multiple parents
- Switch Renesas RZ/N1 divider clocks to .determine_rate()
- Add ZA2 (Audio Clock Generator) clock on Renesas R-Car D3

clkdev to be the only implementation of clk_get() and clk_put().
That's a good step in the right direction to migreate eveerything over
to the common clk framework. Now we don't have to worry about clkdev
specific details, they're just part of the clk API now.
Core:
- clkdev is now the only option, i.e. clk_get()/clk_put() is
implemented in only one place in the kernel instead of in
drivers/clk/clkdev.c and in architectures that want their own
implementation
New Drivers:
- Texas Instruments' LMK04832 Ultra Low-Noise JESD204B Compliant
Clock Jitter Cleaner With Dual Loop PLLs
- Qualcomm MDM9607 GCC
- Qualcomm SC8180X display clks
- Qualcomm SM6125 GCC

When DMA-mapping of the bounce buffer fails, the driver tries to fall
back, but it leaves the allocated host->bounce_buffer although its
size is zero. Later on, the driver checks the use of bounce buffer
with host->bounce_buffer pointer, and it tries to use the buffer
incorrectly, resulting in Oops.
This patch clears the release the unused buffer and clears the
bounce_buffer pointer for addressing the problem.

It might be that something goes wrong during tuning so the MMC core will
immediately trigger a retune. In our case it was:
- we sent a tuning block
- there was an error so we need to send an abort cmd to the eMMC
- the abort cmd had a CRC error
- retune was set by the MMC core
This lead to a vicious circle causing a performance regression of 75%.
So, clear retuning flags before we enable retuning to start with a known
cleared state.

The card timing and the bus frequency are not changed atomically with
respect to calls to the set_clock() callback in the driver. The result
is the driver sees a transient state where there's a mismatch between

Switch from dev_warn() to dev_dbg() to avoid noise in the normal case,

While initializing an UHS-I SD card, the mmc core first tries to switch to
1.8V I/O voltage, before it continues to change the settings for the bus
speed mode.
However, the current behaviour in the mmc core is inconsistent and doesn't
conform to the SD spec. More precisely, an SD card that supports UHS-I must
set both the SD_OCR_CCS bit and the SD_OCR_S18R bit in the OCR register
response. When switching to 1.8V I/O the mmc core correctly checks both of
the bits, but only the SD_OCR_S18R bit when changing the settings for bus
speed mode.
Rather than actually fixing the code to confirm to the SD spec, let's
deliberately deviate from it by requiring only the SD_OCR_S18R bit for both
parts. This enables us to support UHS-I for SDSC cards (outside spec),
which is actually being supported by some existing SDSC cards. Moreover,
this fixes the inconsistent behaviour.

In SD spec v6.x the SD function extension registers for performance
enhancements were introduced. As a part of this an optional internal cache
on the SD card, can be used to improve performance.
The let the SD card use the cache, the host needs to enable it and manage
flushing of the cache, so let's add support for this.
Note that for an SD card supporting the cache it's mandatory for it, to
also support the poweroff notification feature. According to the SD spec,
if the cache has been enabled and a poweroff notification is sent to the
card, that implicitly also means that the card should flush its internal
cache. Therefore, dealing with cache flushing for REQ_OP_FLUSH block
requests is sufficient.

optional features. To let the card announce whether it supports the
commands, the SCR register has been extended with corresponding support
bits. Let's parse and store this information for later use.

The function mmc_send_cxd_data() sends a data read command of ADTC type and
prepares to receive an R1 response. To make it even more re-usable, let's
extend it with another in-parameter for the command argument. While at it,
let's also rename the function to mmc_send_adtc_data() as it better
describes its purpose.
Note that, this change doesn't add any new users of the function. Instead

After the eMMC sleep command (CMD5) has been sent, the card start signals
busy on the DAT0 line, which can be monitored to understand when it's
allowed to proceed to power off the VCC regulator.
When MMC_CAP_WAIT_WHILE_BUSY isn't supported by the host the DAT0 line
isn't being monitored for busy completion, but instead we are waiting a
fixed period of time. The time corresponds to the sleep timeout that is
specified in the EXT_CSD register of the eMMC card. This is many cases
suboptimal, as the timeout corresponds to the worst case scenario.
To improve the situation add support for HW busy polling through the
->card_busy() host ops, when the host supports this.

Via __mmc_poll_for_busy() we end up polling with the ->card_busy() host ops
or by sending the CMD13. To allow polling of different types, which is
needed to support a few new SD card features, let's rework the code around
__mmc_poll_for_busy() to make it more generic.
More precisely, let __mmc_poll_for_busy() take a pointer to a callback
function as in-parameter, which it calls to poll for busy state completion.
Additionally, let's share __mmc_poll_for_busy() to allow it to be re-used
outside of mmc_ops.c. Subsequent changes will make use of it.

Although, it has turned out the some host can't cope with that conversion,

Group the flow flags under a single struct called flow. The new struct
contains 'stopped' and 'tco_stopped' bools which used to be bits in a
bitfield. The struct also contains the lock protecting them to
potentially share the same cache line.
Note that commit c545b66c69 (tty: Serialize tcflow() with other tty
flow control changes) added a padding to the original bitfield. It was
for the bitfield to occupy a whole 64b word to avoid interferring stores
on Alpha (cannot we evaporate this arch with weird implications to C
code yet?). But it doesn't work as expected as the padding
(tty_struct::unused) is aligned to a 8B boundary too and occupies some
bytes from the next word.
So make it reliable by:
1) setting __aligned of the struct -- that aligns the start, and
2) making 'unsigned long unused[0]' as the last member of the struct --
pads the end.
This is also the perfect time to start the documentation of tty_struct
where all this lives. So we start by documenting what these bools
actually serve for. And why we do all the alignment dances. Only the few
up-to-date information from the Theodore's comment made it into this new
Kerneldoc comment.

Inserting an SD-card on an Intel NUC10i3FNK4 (which contains a GL9755)
results in the message:
mmc0: 1.8V regulator output did not become stable
Following this message, some cards work (sometimes), but most cards fail
with EILSEQ. This behaviour is observed on Debian 10 running kernel
4.19.188, but also with 5.8.18 and 5.11.15.
The driver currently waits 5ms after switching on the 1.8V regulator for
it to become stable. Increasing this to 10ms gets rid of the warning
about stability, but most cards still fail. Increasing it to 20ms gets
some cards working (a 32GB Samsung micro SD works, a 128GB ADATA
doesn't). At 50ms, the ADATA works most of the time, and at 100ms both
cards work reliably.

The brcmfmac driver can generate a scatterlist from a skb with each packets
not aligned to the block size. This is not supported by the Amlogic Descriptor
dma engine where each descriptor must match a multiple of the block size.
The sg list is valid, since the sum of the sg buffers is a multiple of the
block size, but we must discard those when in SD_IO_RW_EXTENDED mode since
SDIO block mode can be used under the hood even with data->blocks == 1.
Those transfers are very rare, thus can be replaced by a bounce buffer
without real performance loss.

In command queueing mode, the cache isn't flushed via the mmc_flush_cache()
function, but instead by issuing a CMDQ_TASK_MGMT (CMD48) with a
FLUSH_CACHE opcode. In this path, we need to check if cache has been
enabled, before deciding to flush the cache, along the lines of what's
being done in mmc_flush_cache().
To fix this problem, let's add a new bus ops callback ->cache_enabled() and
implement it for the mmc bus type. In this way, the mmc block device driver
can call it to know whether cache flushing should be done.

Since commit e085b51c74 ("mmc: meson-gx: check for scatterlist size alignment in block mode"),
support for SDIO SD_IO_RW_EXTENDED transferts are properly filtered but some driver
like brcmfmac still gives a block sg buffer size not aligned with SDIO block,
triggerring a WARN_ONCE() with scary stacktrace even if the transfer works fine
but with possible degraded performances.
Simply replace with dev_warn_once() to inform user this should be fixed to avoid
degraded performance.
This should be ultimately fixed in brcmfmac, but since it's only a performance issue
the warning should be removed.

.set_ios() is called from .resume() as well. For SDIO device which sets
keep-power-in-suspend, nothing should be changed after resuming, as well
as sample tuning value, since this value is tuned already. So we should

Currently, only SDHI on R-Car Gen2+ reinitializes the irq register
during reset but it should be done on all instances. We can move it from
the SDHI driver to the TMIO core, because we now have the
'sd_irq_mask_all' variable which carries the proper value to use. That
also means we can remove the initialization from tmio_mmc_probe()
because it calls tmio_mmc_reset(), too. We only move that
tmio_mmc_reset() call there a little to ensure 'sd_irq_mask_all' is
properly set.

Not all commands need to be retried in case of a timeout/failure. This is
the case for the eMMC sanitize command, for example, which is issued
through the ioctl interface. More precisely, in case of timeout, retrying
could make the user wait for a very long time as each retry loop could last
for a couple of minutes.
Therefore, let's not use retries for the eMMC sanitize command.

The mmc core uses a PM notifier to temporarily during system suspend, turn
off the card detection mechanism for removal/insertion of (e)MMC/SD/SDIO
cards. Additionally, the notifier may be used to remove an SDIO card
entirely, if a corresponding SDIO functional driver don't have the system
suspend/resume callbacks assigned. This behaviour has been around for a
very long time.
However, a recent bug report tells us there are problems with this
approach. More precisely, when receiving the PM_SUSPEND_PREPARE
notification, we may end up hanging on I/O to be completed, thus also
preventing the system from getting suspended.
In the end what happens, is that the cancel_delayed_work_sync() in
mmc_pm_notify() ends up waiting for mmc_rescan() to complete - and since
mmc_rescan() wants to claim the host, it needs to wait for the I/O to be
completed first.
Typically, this problem is triggered in Android, if there is ongoing I/O
while the user decides to suspend, resume and then suspend the system
again. This due to that after the resume, an mmc_rescan() work gets punted
to the workqueue, which job is to verify that the card remains inserted
after the system has resumed.
To fix this problem, userspace needs to become frozen to suspend the I/O,
prior to turning off the card detection mechanism. Therefore, let's drop
the PM notifiers for mmc subsystem altogether and rely on the card
detection to be turned off/on as a part of the system_freezable_wq, that we
are already using.
Moreover, to allow and SDIO card to be removed during system suspend, let's
manage this from a ->prepare() callback, assigned at the mmc_host_class
level. In this way, we can use the parent device (the mmc_host_class
device), to remove the card device that is the child, in the
device_prepare() phase.

Returning zero to indicate success, when we actually have failed to probe
is wrong. As a matter of fact, it leads to that mmc_blk_remove() gets
called at a card removal and then triggers "NULL pointer dereference"
splats. This is because mmc_blk_remove() relies on data structures and
pointers to be setup from mmc_blk_probe(), of course.
There have been no errors reported about this, which is most likely because
mmc_blk_probe() never fails like this. Nevertheless, let's fix the code by
propagating the error codes correctly and prevent us from leaking memory by
calling also destroy_workqueue() in the error path.

For data read commands, SDHC may initiate data transfers even before it
completely process the command response. In case command itself fails,
driver un-maps the memory associated with data transfer but this memory
can still be accessed by SDHC for the already initiated data transfer.
This scenario can lead to un-mapped memory access error.
To avoid this scenario, reset SDHC (when command fails) prior to
un-mapping memory. Resetting SDHC ensures that all in-flight data
transfers are either aborted or completed. So we don't run into this
scenario.

When the mmc_rescan work is enabled for execution (host->rescan_disable),
it's the only instance per mmc host that is allowed to set/clear the
host->bus_ops pointer.
Besides the mmc_rescan work, there are a couple of scenarios when the
host->bus_ops pointer may be accessed. Typically, those can be described as
as below:
*)
Upper mmc driver layers (like the mmc block device driver or an SDIO
functional driver) needs to execute a host->bus_ops callback. This can be
considered as safe without having to use some special locking mechanism,
because they operate on top of the struct mmc_card. As long as there is a
card to operate upon, the mmc core guarantees that there is a host->bus_ops
assigned as well. Note that, upper layer mmc drivers are of course
responsible to clean up from themselves from their ->remove() callbacks,
otherwise things would fall apart anyways.
**)
Via the mmc host instance, we may need to force a removal of an inserted
mmc card. This happens when a mmc host driver gets unbind, for example. In
this case, we protect the host->bus_ops pointer from concurrent accesses,
by disabling the mmc_rescan work upfront (host->rescan_disable). See
mmc_stop_host() for example.
This said, it seems like the reference counting of the host->bus_ops
pointer at some point have become superfluous. As this is an old mechanism
of the mmc core, it a bit difficult to digest the history of when that
could have happened. However, let's drop the reference counting to avoid
unnecessary code-paths and lockings.

An issue has been observed on STM32MP157C-EV1 board, with an erase command
with secure erase argument, ending up waiting for ~4 hours before timeout.
The requested busy timeout from the mmc core ends up with 14784000ms (~4
hours), but the supported host->max_busy_timeout is 86767ms, which leads to
that the core switch to use an R1 response in favor of the R1B and polls
for busy with the host->card_busy() ops. In this case the polling doesn't
work as expected, as we never detects that the card stops signaling busy,
which leads to the following message:
mmc1: Card stuck being busy! __mmc_poll_for_busy
The problem boils done to that the stm32 variants can't use R1 responses in
favor of R1B responses, as it leads to an internal state machine in the
controller to get stuck. To continue to process requests, it would need to
be reset.
To fix this problem, let's set MMC_CAP_NEED_RSP_BUSY for the stm32 variant,
which prevent the mmc core from switching to R1 responses. Additionally,
let's cap the cmd->busy_timeout to the host->max_busy_timeout, thus rely on
86767ms to be sufficient (~66 seconds was need for this test case).

Since [1], the erase argument for mmc_erase() function is saved in
erase_arg field of card structure. It is preferable to use it instead of
hard-coded MMC_SECURE_ERASE_ARG, which from eMMC 4.51 spec is not
recommended:
"6.6.16 Secure Erase
NOTE Secure Erase is included for backwards compatibility. New system
level implementations (based on v4.51 devices and beyond) should use
Erase combined with Sanitize instead of secure erase."
On STM32MP157C-EV1 board, embedding a THGBMDG5D1LBAIL eMMC, using
MMC_ERASE command with MMC_SECURE_ERASE_ARG may stuck the STM32 SDMMC IP,
if test 37 or test 38 are launched just after a write test, e.g. test 36.
Using the default MMC_ERASE argument from framework with erase_arg,
which default in our case to MMC_DISCARD_ARG does no more trig the
issue.

All amba drivers return 0 in their remove callback. Together with the
driver core ignoring the return value anyhow, it doesn't make sense to
return a value here.
Change the remove prototype to return void, which makes it explicit that
returning an error value doesn't work as expected. This simplifies changing
the core remove callback to return void, too.

Add support for testing whether bus voltage level translator is present
and operational. This is useful on systems where the bus voltage level
translator is optional, as the translator can be auto-detected by the
driver and the feedback clock functionality can be disabled if it is
not present.
This requires additional pinmux state, "init", where the CMD, CK, CKIN
lines are not configured, so they can be claimed as GPIOs early on in
probe(). The translator test sets CMD high to avoid interfering with a
card, and then verifies whether signal set on CK is detected on CKIN.
If the signal is detected, translator is present, otherwise the CKIN
feedback clock are disabled.

Add support for Qualcomm Inline Crypto Engine (ICE) to sdhci-msm.
The standard-compliant parts, such as querying the crypto capabilities
and enabling crypto for individual MMC requests, are already handled by
cqhci-crypto.c, which itself is wired into the blk-crypto framework.
However, ICE requires vendor-specific init, enable, and resume logic,
and it requires that keys be programmed and evicted by vendor-specific
SMC calls. Make the sdhci-msm driver handle these details.
This is heavily inspired by the similar changes made for UFS, since the
UFS and eMMC ICE instances are very similar. See commit df4ec2fa7a
("scsi: ufs-qcom: Add Inline Crypto Engine support").
I tested this on a Sony Xperia 10, which uses the Snapdragon 630 SoC,
which has basic upstream support. Mainly, I used android-xfstests
(https://github.com/tytso/xfstests-bld/blob/master/Documentation/android-xfstests.md)
to run the ext4 and f2fs encryption tests in a Debian chroot:
android-xfstests -c ext4,f2fs -g encrypt -m inlinecrypt
These tests included tests which verify that the on-disk ciphertext is
identical to that produced by a software implementation. I also
verified that ICE was actually being used.

On Snapdragon SoCs, the Linux kernel isn't permitted to directly access
the standard CQHCI crypto configuration registers. Instead, programming
and evicting keys must be done through vendor-specific SMC calls.
To support this hardware, add a ->program_key() method to
'struct cqhci_host_ops'. This allows overriding the standard CQHCI
crypto key programming / eviction procedure.
This is inspired by the corresponding UFS crypto support, which uses
these same SMC calls. See commit 1bc726e26e ("scsi: ufs: Add
program_key() variant op").

Add support for eMMC inline encryption using the blk-crypto framework
(Documentation/block/inline-encryption.rst).
eMMC inline encryption support is specified by the upcoming JEDEC eMMC
v5.2 specification. It is only specified for the CQ interface, not the
non-CQ interface. Although the eMMC v5.2 specification hasn't been
officially released yet, the crypto support was already agreed on
several years ago, and it was already implemented by at least two major
hardware vendors. Lots of hardware in the field already supports and
uses it, e.g. Snapdragon 630 to give one example.
eMMC inline encryption support is very similar to the UFS inline
encryption support which was standardized in the UFS v2.1 specification
and was already upstreamed. The only major difference is that eMMC
limits data unit numbers to 32 bits, unlike UFS's 64 bits.
Like we did with UFS, make the crypto support opt-in by individual
drivers; don't enable it automatically whenever the hardware declares
crypto support. This is necessary because in every case we've seen,
some extra vendor-specific logic is needed to use the crypto support.

Move the task descriptor initialization into cqhci_prep_task_desc().
In addition, make it explicitly initialize all 128 bits of the task
descriptor if the host controller is using 128-bit task descriptors,
rather than relying on the implicit zeroing from dmam_alloc_coherent().
This is needed to prepare for CQHCI inline encryption support, which
requires 128-bit task descriptors and uses the upper 64 bits.

In preparation for adding CQHCI crypto engine (inline encryption)
support, add the code required to make mmc_core and mmc_block aware of
inline encryption. Specifically:
- Add a capability flag MMC_CAP2_CRYPTO to struct mmc_host. Drivers
will set this if the host and driver support inline encryption.
- Embed a blk_keyslot_manager in struct mmc_host. Drivers will
initialize this (as a device-managed resource) if the host and driver
support inline encryption. mmc_block registers this keyslot manager
with the request_queue of any MMC card attached to the host.
- Make mmc_block copy the crypto keyslot and crypto data unit number
from struct request to struct mmc_request, so that drivers will have
access to them.
- If the MMC host is reset, reprogram all the keyslots to ensure that
the software state stays in sync with the hardware state.

The RPi4 has an Arasan controller it carries over from the RPi3 and a newer
eMMC2 controller. Because of a couple of quirks, it seems wiser to bind
these controllers to the same driver that DT is using on this platform
rather than the generic sdhci_acpi driver with PNP0D40.
So, BCM2847 describes the older Arasan and BRCME88C describes the newer
eMMC2. The older Arasan is reusing an existing ACPI _HID used by other OSes
booting these tables on the RPi.
With this change, Linux is capable of utilizing the SD card slot, and the
Wi-Fi when booted with UEFI+ACPI on the RPi4.

The Aspeed SD/eMMC controllers expose configurable clock phase
correction by inserting delays of up to 15 logic elements in length into
the bus clock path. The hardware supports independent configuration for
both bus directions on a per-slot basis.
The timing delay per element encoded in the driver was experimentally
determined by scope measurements.
The phase controls for both slots are grouped together in a single
register of the global register block of the SD/MMC controller(s), which
drives the use of a locking scheme between the SDHCIs and the global

The MSM SDHCI driver always set the "actual_clock" field to 0. It had
a comment about it not being needed because we weren't using the
standard SDHCI divider mechanism and we'd just fallback to
"host->clock". However, it's still better to provide the actual
clock. Why?
1. It will make timeout calculations slightly better. On one system I
have, the eMMC requets 200 MHz (for HS400-ES) but actually gets 192
MHz. These are close, but why not get the more accurate one.
2. If things are seriously off in the clock driver and it's missing
rates or picking the wrong rate (maybe it's rounding up instead of
down), this will make it much more obvious what's going on.
NOTE: we have to be a little careful here because the "actual_clock"
field shouldn't include the multiplier that sdhci-msm needs
internally.

As talked about in commit 5e4b7e82d4 ("clk: qcom: gcc-sdm845: Use
floor ops for sdcc clks"), most clocks handled by the Qualcomm clock
drivers are rounded _up_ by default instead of down. We should make
sure SD/MMC clocks are always rounded down in the clock drivers.
Let's add a warning in the Qualcomm SDHCI driver to help catch the
problem.
This would have saved a bunch of time [1].
NOTE: this doesn't actually fix any problems, it just makes it obvious
to devs that there is a problem and that should be an indication to
fix the clock driver.

set the block size to 0, as the data_sector_size field of ext_csd

max_sectors and max_hw_sectors to be set to 0 after setting the block

Commit e7b5d63a82 ("mmc: sdhci-brcmstb: Add shutdown callback")
that added a shutdown callback to the diver, is causing "mmc timeout"
errors on S5 suspend. The problem was that the "remove" was queuing
additional MMC commands after the "shutdown" and these caused
timeouts as the MMC queues were cleaned up for "remove". The
shutdown callback will be changed to calling sdhci-pltfm_suspend
which should get better power savings because the clocks will be
shutdown.

Commit a44f7cb937 ("mmc: core: use mrq->sbc when sending CMD23 for
RPMB") began to use ACMD23 for RPMB if the host supports ACMD23. In
RPMB ACM23 case, we need to set bit 31 to CMD23 argument, otherwise
RPMB write operation will return general fail.
However, no matter V4 is enabled or not, the dwcmshc's ARGUMENT2
register is 32-bit block count register which doesn't support stuff
bits of CMD23 argument. So let's handle this specific ACMD23 case.
From another side, this patch also prepare for future v4 enabling
for dwcmshc, because from the 4.10 spec, the ARGUMENT2 register is
redefined as 32bit block count which doesn't support stuff bits of
CMD23 argument.

The device_* calls were added a few years ago to abstract
DT/ACPI/fwnode firmware interfaces. Lets convert the two
sdhci caps fields to use the generic calls rather than the OF
specific ones. This has the side effect of allowing
ACPI based devices to quirk themselves when the caps field
is broken.

The commit 16ada730a7 ("mmc: sdhci-of-arasan: Modify clock operations
handling") introduced support for platform specific clock operations.
Around the same point in time the commit 36c6aadaae ("mmc:
sdhci-of-arasan: Add support for Intel Keem Bay") was also merged.
Unfortunate it was not really tested on top of the previously mentioned
commit, which causes clock registration failures for Keem Bay SOC devices.
Let's fix this, by properly declaring the clock operation for Keem Bay SOC
devices.

In the current implementation DLL reset will be issued for
each ITAP and OTAP setting inside ATF, this is creating issues
in some scenarios and this sequence is not inline with the TRM.
To fix the issue, DLL reset should be removed from the ATF and
host driver will request it explicitly.
This patch update host driver to explicitly request for DLL reset
before ITAP (assert DLL) and after OTAP (release DLL) settings.

A UHS setting of SDR25 can give better results for High Speed mode.
This is because there is no setting corresponding to high speed. Currently
SDHCI sets no value, which means zero which is also the setting for SDR12.

The SCC pointer is currently filled whenever the SoC is Gen2+. This is
wrong because there is a Gen2-variant without SCC (SDHI_VER_GEN2_SDR50).
We have been lucky because the writes to unintended registers have not
caused problems so far. But further refactoring work exposed the
problem. So, move the pointer initialization to the place where we know
that the SDHI instance supports tuning. And also populate the 'reset'
pointer unconditionally to make sure the interrupt enable register is
always properly set for Gen2+.

In the SD specification v7.10 the SD express card has been added. This new
type of removable SD card, can be managed via a PCIe/NVMe based interface,
while also allowing backwards compatibility towards the legacy SD
interface.
To keep the backwards compatibility, it's required to start the
initialization through the legacy SD interface. If it turns out that the
mmc host and the SD card, both supports the PCIe/NVMe interface, then a
switch should be allowed.
Therefore, let's introduce some basic support for this type of SD cards to
the mmc core. The mmc host, should set MMC_CAP2_SD_EXP if it supports this
interface and MMC_CAP2_SD_EXP_1_2V, if also 1.2V is supported, as to inform
the core about it.
To deal with the switch to the PCIe/NVMe interface, the mmc host is
required to implement a new host ops, ->init_sd_express(). Based on the
initial communication between the host and the card, host->ios.timing is
set to either MMC_TIMING_SD_EXP or MMC_TIMING_SD_EXP_1_2V, depending on if
1.2V is supported or not. In this way, the mmc host can check these values
in its ->init_sd_express() ops, to know how to proceed with the handover.
Note that, to manage card insert/removal, the mmc core sticks with using
the ->get_cd() callback, which means it's the host's responsibility to make
sure it provides valid data, even if the card may be managed by PCIe/NVMe
at the moment. As long as the card seems to be present, the mmc core keeps
the card powered on.

This change will allow platform designers better control over signal
integrity by allowing them to tune the HS200 and HS400 driver strengths.
The driver strength was previously hard coded to A to solve boot
problems with certain platforms. This driver strength does not
universally apply to all platforms so we need a knob to adjust it.
All older platforms currently have the SDR104 preset hard coded to A in
the firmware. This means that switching from the hard coded value in
the kernel to reading the SDR104 preset is a no-op for these platforms.
Newer platforms will have properly set presets. So this change will
support both new and old platforms.
