The use of READ_ONCE() causes lots of warnings witht he pending paravirt
spinlock fixes, because those ends up having passing a member to a
'const' structure to READ_ONCE().
There should certainly be nothing wrong with using READ_ONCE() with a
const source, but the helper function __read_once_size() would cause
warnings because it would drop the 'const' qualifier, but also because
the destination would be marked 'const' too due to the use of 'typeof'.
Use a union of types in READ_ONCE() to avoid this issue.
Also make sure to use parenthesis around the macro arguments to avoid
possible operator precedence issues.

In commit c441d4a54c ("MIPS: mm: Only build one microassembler that
is suitable"), the Makefile at arch/mips/mm was rewritten to only
build the "right" microassembler file, depending on whether
CONFIG_CPU_MICROMIPS is set or not.
In the files, however, there are still preprocessor definitions
depending on CONFIG_CPU_MICROMIPS. The #ifdef around them can now
never evaluate to true, so let's remove them altogether.
This inconsistency was found using the undertaker-checkpatch tool.

Some codes in snd_pcm_dev_disconnect() are still valid even for
internal PCMs, but they are skipped because of the check of
list_empty(&pcm->list) at the beginning. Remove this check and put

An internal PCM object shouldn't be added to the PCM device list, as
it's never accessed directly from the user-space, and it has no proc
or any similar accesses. Currently, it's excluded in snd_pcm_get()
and snd_pcm_next(), but it's easier not to add such an object to the
list.
Actually, the whole snd_pcm_dev_register() can be skipped for an
internal PCM. So this patch changes the code there, but also
addresses the uninitialized list_head access.

For, !HAVE_CLK the clk API returns a NULL cookie. Rework the
initialization code to handle that. If clk_get_rate() delivers 0, we use
the fallback mechanisms. The patch is pretty easy when ignoring white
space issues (git diff -b).

No change for the existing STATUS ioctl, parameters
are treated as read-only.

Audio timestamps can be extracted from sample counters, wall clocks,
PHC clocks (Ethernet AVB), on-demand synchronized snapshots. This
patch provides the ability to report timestamping capabilities, select
timestamp types and retrieve timestamp accuracy, if supported.

This functionality is introduced by reclaiming the reserved_aligned
field introduced by commit9c7066aef4a5eb8e4063de28f06c508bf6f2963a
in snd_pcm_status to provide userspace with selection/query capabilities.
Additional driver_tstamp and audio_tstamp_accuracy fields are also added.
snd_pcm_mmap_status remains a read-only structure with only
the audio timestamp value accessible from user space. The selection
of audio timestamp type is done through snd_pcm_status only
This commit does not impact ABI and does not impact the default
behavior. By default audio timestamp is aligned with hw_pointer and
reports the DMA position. Backwards compatibility is handled by using
the HDAudio wall clock for playback and the hw_ptr for all other
cases.
For timestamp selection a new STATUS_EXT ioctl is introduced with
read/write parameters. Alsa-lib will be modified to make use of
STATUS_EXT.

The acknowledge bits don't exist for level triggered irqs, so setting
them causes the simulator to terminate.

CN38XX pass 1 required icache prefetching to be turned off. This chip never
reached production and is long dead. Other processor specific icache settings
are done by the bootloader. Remove these bits from the kernel.
